  • I'm playing with designing an auto hotend-swapping mechanism based on a rook-180, here's my current progress

    This is such a great idea! Having a tool-changer in a low-cost core-XY printer is great.

    You may wanna move the magnets so they don't line up with the rods xD

      It does create a small pull on the rods. although I don't feel it's enough to cause much extra drag. I would move them, but the room in there was really limited with all the screw holes etc. I also wanted to maintain the 'pyramids' that help lock the position, the depth of them also dictates some limits on the positioning. I guess one option would be to go with carbon rods, although at the moment the x-motion appears quite slick.
