Edit: If you drive on DeliverThat how are your tips? Do you see large tips totaling $30+ per offer and/or $3+ per mile?
I donât know if itâs possible for you to do a video or respond. I find when I call customer support at Door Dash they say things that arenât true. Yesterday I was in the zone next to my home where I wanted to finish out my day and enjoy a break at home before peak pay. I had 3 deliveries in the zone near my home that had me delivering all the way to the far end of a different zone. Support claimed there is a radius option you can set which I didnât see. And it seems they donât tell you when you get the offer that they are sending you out of the zone.
Hey Mike! You better sign up! Don't wanna miss out on this money! ð
Also I ended up making $36 on that order!
Thanks for making a great video! DT has been on my radar but I havenât signed up until now ððž keep up the great work Toya
Once you become a premier or elite driver thats when you start seen the big tip orders. I have a friend that is a premier driver he does 3-4 orders a day making more then $300 he usually done by 1 pm
Wow. Yeah Iâm signing up ð weâll see!
@@YourDriverMike it takes time doe! A lot of patience and the good part is you grab any order then you study it $ if its not worth it you can dump it. No acceptance rate! A real independent contractor gig I love Deliverthat
What app is this ?
Unfortunately they are not in SoCal...Phoenix is their closest place (to LA) in the West Coast.
@@meenhaz93 Watch the video!!!Clearly you didn't watch it.
I just signed up with them. A couple things to know:
- They'll ask you to watch a couple orientation videos (about 12 minutes total) and make you take a quiz of what you watched. At first I rolled my eyes, but honestly I wish someone from DoorDash or Uber Eats sat me down, walked me through the app, and told me the expectations (as opposed to just reading them or watching Mike haha)
- They expect you to have at least two bags that can hold at minimum 2 full-size catering pans. Minimum size of 20in x 12in x 12in. As Toya mentioned, they must be free of any other food delivery platform logos.
- Your driving record should be pretty clear -- no major driving violations over the last 5 years and very few minor violations
- You must be 21+ with at least 2 years driving experience
Do you require you show auto insurance?
I get the worst tips out of hospital and end up walking a bunch to get it to the right area . I know the hospital workers make good money - so I don't get it . Big Pass !!!
Thanks for these videos man.
Toya is great! Love her channel..
I am on waitlist for dlvd, definitely interested in deliver that, Great info!
Great idea! I love it!
Toya is great. Lover her channel.
what i hear over and over is that this app is good pay but u don't get a lot of orders
Not all deliveries require set up some customers just ask you to leave the order in a certain spot or some just take the order themselves
Even better right haha I'll do either or

between parking, dealing with restaurant, parking, dealing with elevators, and setup - I'd already have 3 Uber / Lyft drives...and the tip thing is suspect and seemed to be glossed over as a big deal.
All add my 2 cents, you have to be very very professional on catering orders, they rate EVERYTHING you do, they call and check with pickup, how was the driver? where they dressed properly, did they have enough bags, and then on the other end they rate you as well, did the driver to the set up, were they professional, did you enjoy your experience. Also on the bags, the more you have the faster you get real $$$ orders, such as a $3500 catering order paid $480 I have done that at least once a month for my first 3 months but I also started with day 1, 20 catering bags, 2 roll wagons and 2 hand trucks, I have an SUV Ford Escape and I built and easy stackable and collapsable in my truck so I can stack 2 XXXL catering bags with no smooshing onto each other so I can take 10 big ones just in my truck and then 2 more so 12 XXXL bags in the rear and 8 more in the rear seat. Another tip AI tracks everything you do, only a 10 min window each side of the order pickup and delivery. So even though you think you are doing good by picking up early or delivering early your dinging yourself in the negative because you are outside of the windows of pickup and delivery.
Exactly! Controlling how an independent contractor works. This is very true.
Independent contractor doesn't mean do whatever you want. When you sign an agreement or contract you're then agreeing to work within those terms. If not then they can opt you out. You're just responsible for your own expenses and time. Many organizations hire 1099 but you're bound to work within certain boundaries of the industry.
@@camilleearhart8893 you are correct to a certain extent. If I hire an independent contractor to build my house I can definitely set the expectations of what I want the house to look like and what the expected end result should be. The contract is to complete the house as agreed. Obviously there is an expectation to complete things legally and work safely amongst other things that make sense. When it comes to the amount of control the hiring entity has over the work and the level of supervision is what distinguishes you as an independent contractor there are laws that regulate that specific classification. Contract or not, they canât break the law and force you to sign it. They canât tell you what to wear or require you to dress any way as that counts as a dress code. Ratings in and of themselves are also questionable. The difference between an employee and an independent contractor is the degree of control you have over the worker or the amount of independence they have. It gets pretty granular and ambiguous but there are criteria that determines the degree of control a hiring entity has over an individual. The largest category is behavioral in addition to financial and the overall type of relationship between the two parties. Thatâs why ratings have always come into question because the companies use the ratings as a means to essentially control how you work. In the perfect situation the rating should only serve to allow the end customer to choose their contractor as these companies only serve as a marketplace to find help.
@@camilleearhart8893 no one ever said that an independent contractor can âdo what they wantâ. There are certain behaviors that hiring entities take that push the envelope too far when it comes to how much control the hiring entity has over the work of the contractor. Iâm from California and AB5 is fairly specific with what Iâm explaining to you. There is also a history of case law to support my point. You are correct, if you sign an agreement you must execute the contract properly however there are actions that hiring entities take which can and are interpreted by courts to be classified as employee/employer. Please stop painting my argument as me saying independent contractors can run a free for all. Unless youâre intimately familiar with the law then thereâs no more to discuss.
I been signed up for over a month and havenât received an offer yet. I received 2 notifications and that offer was accepted by someone else within seconds
They need to disclose the order size and how much the pay is right up front - none of this hidden B.S.
Love Toya
theres a loooooong waiting list for those catering apps. good luck though .
Wish me luck, just signed up
Thank you for this video. El Paso doesn't have all of these various platforms and checking their site, looks like this might be another one I can add to the rotation.
Thanks for watching! Curious about that Dlivrd platform as well
We do currently service El Paso!
@@DeliverThat I downloaded your driver app today and may well try it out this weekend.
i just applied all they ask is basic name email etc, and who else you work for and whats your goals with the company, theirs different jobs to appy to
Mike sign up to as many catering apps as you can and review it ððū
Just signed up for DeliverThat, very curious to try some runs here in Pittsburgh so hopefully you'll get to see that soon!
@@YourDriverMike sounds good ððū
Did you have to pay for background check or driving check? My application stopped at that point.
so if one takes lets say 2-3 of these orders they could roughly see 90 bucks, give or take, lets say you take two in an hour I am sure they have times when they see a lot of catering orders have to look at it since it looks to be in my area.
So the easy cater orders are all tip pool orders I have never gotten the minimum of $21 or the maximum of $27 they always give u $23 $25 plus base pay and other incentives
Tip pool was $29 this past pay periodð Going to be highest during Q4 and lowest during Q1. Q2 and 3 right in that sweet spot you've seen already
@@DeliverThat ððžððž
@@DeliverThat Oh hey look who's in the comments haha hello all
I tryed to sign up they said I did not pass the test , idk.
I'd love to see a video on delivered
Would very small cars work? Just got a Scion XA...
Interesting ðĪ
You should do my first day with this app. It was pretty lousy. catering apps are too much work for too little money.
Give it another shot Chad! A lot has changed since your time on the platform
Im glad i flunked the test then. Does seem like could be time and hauling
@@DeliverThat do away with tip pooling yet?
Roadie here in manitowac Wisconsin there have a cvs every blue moon but there's no orders here in my town or offers when it comes to roadie spark is over saturated with drivers
I would have done it just to get the new experience if you just weeks in
Not sure what city city sheâs in but thatâs not how dlivrd works
They send you a order they give you 15 mins to decide so as far as in concerned sheâs all cap, it is a good app just not enough orders and what Iâve noticed lately is the orders are starting to be further away from the city I live in theyâve also partnered with relish a 3rd party so you decide if thatâs good or bad for me itâs bad orders have been slow since dec 15
The orders were few and far between when I tried it in my market and you often had to accept an order within seconds or it would disappear. By the time I would look at my phone the order would be gone.
Kinda like what Toya mentioned. A problem of too many couriers and not enough orders, hopefully DeliverThat can get a better balance and certainly more and more orders.
Yup! You turn on the app and itâs constantly ringing with orders but they are always taken. Then seconds later the same order pops up again and itâs taken already. You can do that same cycle for an hour. This app is a no go and they need to be investigated for their practices.
As an Uber driver I received my first reduced tip from a customer. Is there a way I can find out why they reduced the tip? Was it something I did wrong?
Nothing you did wrong. Some losers add a good tip to get someone to actually pick up their order then remove it after delivery to save them money but ensure the food is actually delivered. That's called Tip Baiting and I'm surprised Uber is still allowing it as it is a breach of contract. Call them up and demand the full amount from the contract that you agreed to and mention that it is a breach of contract to pay less than you agreed to. I've had 100% of my tip baited orders paid in full after mentioning the breach of contract. I don't drive for Uber Eats anymore though because that's too much of a hassle and Doordash is a much better platform.
Thanks @@DriveWithJake Iâm a new driver and was wondering what happened, thanks again for the info
You have to pay your own Background checks and fes?
I didn't I started 3 months ago
im signing up now,lol
After watching the video and reading through all of the comments, my understanding is more up front costs, heavier screening (videos/testing) and monitoring, more restrictions, fewer ride offers, unpredictable pay, more work to perform (catering setup), more equipment to haul around and potentially a van or SUV needed. This honestly sounds miserable.
So this was a $300 order and she made roughly $30?
Sounds like it, $30-$36. I need to look into how that tip pool works on DeliverThat. Just signed up as well
I wonder if there is a minimum order either by number of items or total order price.
I would imagine that not every order is going to be $300+ , but as a positive (I could be wrong so more experienced food delivery folks/workers help me out) : catering orders are given a higher priority over regular orders , so there would be much less "hurry up and wait" moments for folks picking up the orders?
@@YourDriverMike do you think those numbers make sense? Meaning is that a fair pay amount? I realize the food costs a lot so maybe it is. But us drivers need to buy food also lol
Try not to look at the price of how much youâre delivering but rather how long it takes you. 1 hour or less and Iâll do it all day
$36 bucks in usually less than an hour. and usually at 10am to 1130am right before the lunch rush
I had a catering gig for over 200 dollars and they only gave me a 2 dollar top
I would love to see some inside work on these apps .my neck of the woods in ohio is outside the city so I have a drive to any spot I deliver and it becomes tricky to place the hr amount I need with lengthy deliveries. Now ohio is busy so I do manage but these bigger pay orders could help since I tend to get less in a day with longer travel times.
Our HQ is in Canton, Ohio! Come by some time if you're in the area
Im down here in central Ohio they said I did not pass test
My question is does it depend on where you're located???
to my understanding EZ Catering is the largest catering service in the USA.
Even though your a independent contractor you agree to certain terms. So yeah no logos
I think she spent at least an hour getting that order in the car, but it sounds like good money if you know what you are doing
None of those delivery apps are accepting drivers.
Just an fyi for anyone wondering you have to be 21.
My hospital caters there own food so why would they send out????ð
If you work for spark do you get the employee discount . You are technically a Walmart employee
I don't believe you watched the video........
20 bucks would be super lame for this order
Closest one is TN from meðĒ
Sounds like i need to try deliver that out ...
Not easy to get an order, goes away in secondsðĒ
Deliver that is a waste of time in NJ zero orders for years they just pay youtube to promote not worth the 50 bucks for the bag
DeliverThat spilt your tips plus charge you for back ground check sucks
First u have to buy it own bags 40 dollars next they want u to pay for ur own background check 15 dollars so right from the get go u have to pay 55 dollars they don't tell u there up for grabs not assigned to u this is giving from ez catering and passed on to deliver that that means if something goes wrong u have 2 companies harassing u mainly it just lunch time after that u don't get much I got deactivated because I was 15 minutes early picking up and 15 minutes early dropping off stay clear of this crap
You have to have a nice car to work for them
20 not that good because even with your time you fighting against having to pay gas also so if it was a lot of others thatâs was 20 wouldnât be worth it
I can convert your video into other languages ââand upload it for you at very little cost.
tip pooling should be illegal.
Thank you!
Them videos are stupid when doing the application
How do you calll yourself an expert when you have not demonstrated any working model of these side hustles.....
