Maybe I'm wrong but does anyone else think the novelty of the game telling you what Pokemon is next is too much of an advantage. If they didn't inform you at all about what Pokemon was coming and if the order was randomized it would increase the dificulty way higher. Thus becoming more challenging. They should do that.
I've been thinking of attempting a challenge where for the whole Elite Four I have the battle style on set and not save in between except for before the champion.
It really doesn't feel cheap in single player, hence why it exists solely there. You have to fight every trainer with the same damaged party while they all start fully healed. It's intentionally designed to aid you, along with items.
Gary is the hardest champion in any game especially if you have under leveled Pokemon at lv50. + setting your battle to 'set' makes it twice as hard but twice as fun
let's assume you defeat one of your opponents pokemon. your opponent is about to send his next pokemon into battle. When your battle style is set so 'shift', the game asks you whether you'd like to switch your pokemon you're currently fighting with. With battle style set so 'set', the game doesn't ask you that whereby you have use your own turn to switch pokemon.
Damn did gary have a good team. Remembering playing this as a child when I had red version the original his battle was epic. I did not come prepared for his team yet I still won with my charizard as my final pokemon

Reviving a 2 years old comment. A Thunder Punch can't kill Blastoise in 1 hit. Blastoise has a very high defense and special defense, a true tank pokemon.
Oh, so your Gyarados is tough, you say? It would be a shame, if i beat him with a Shock Wave spam... from a level 32 Jolteon... oh wait nvm it would be dead already with a single shock wave...
I don't think so... 16 levels of difference, probably he could stand 2 or 3 hits, and, lvl 32 pokemons have no more than 120 HP, easily defeated by 3 Dragon Rages. You may win, due to Jolteon being so fast, but, whatever.
I remember this game when i got a dragonite with no cheats... good days. But know kids just play the easy X and Y and they really never get to experience real pokemon.
pokemon global revolution is very hard and from 2010 btw kanto pokemon r the best but they take long to evolve but its worth it i love pokemon 4 example back in hoenn i tried catching mawile without cheats took me 3 great balls 1 premier ball and 2 pokeballs and as in the x and y it took me 1great ball only

Trevor Horan Take of your nostalgia glasses. Have you played gen 7? Gen 7 is WAY better than gen one. If you hate on the newer games than you're a fake fan
Well, this video shows the biggest fundamental flaw in Pokemon. The Rock-Paper-Scissor-system is WAAAY overpowered. It should be plus minus 20% for effective and plus/minus 50% for supereffective. Otherwise the entire game is far to easy. Especially when the next pokemon is ANNOUNCED (the second flaw). Without these Pokemon would be far more challenging and rewarding. Opponents should fight and not go Full Restores. You never go Full Restore.
Also: Charizard, Gyarados, Dragonite(Thunder), Nidoking, Jolteon, Kabutops Now that I'm thinking of it: Eevee should be the default starter-pokemon in all games. The regular starter-pokemon should be found after the first gym. (It will be the opposite type as your Eevee, which you evole by receiving a stone of your choice at the gym.) Firestarter=Vaporeon, Waterstarter=Flareon, Plantstarter=Jolteon
Pokemon is supposed to appeal to a younger audience and make it easier for them. Wasn't that why you got pokemon as a kid in the first place? You thought it was super cool. If you want a harder, more challenging game, play something like dark souls. Even then there are many ways to make the pokemon games more challenging such as nuzlockes, playing on "set", limiting yourself from so many items in battle, no revives, etc. People just dont realize that this game is meant for kids, not us grown adults. I still love it to this day though.
Your comment was just stupid all of your ideas were wrong, how tf would reducing the effectiveness in attacks make the game more exciting, they inform you of which Pokemon is coming out next for type advantages & beginners who would find the structure of the game easier, so if they want something more challenging then they would select the style of the game to set instead of shift
