Site A03 was our spot when we camped there last Spring and it was everything and more. The sunsets were priceless. We enjoyed our stay as well. Thanks for sharing.
If you’re going to just chill out, this the place. Great for boaters and fishing. Depending on stay, bring groceries. A Dollar store is close by. There’s a Walmart about a 30 minute drive. Few seafood restaurants in the area. We were there during the hot months. To keep the ants at bay, we sprinkle the jacks, hose, extension cord and around the tires with Comet. No big deal, just one of those things when camping in these remote areas. Overall, it a very pretty campground.
Hey Jerry and Joan, we’re here at East Bank campground on your fabulous recommendation! Wow we’re loving this place. We’re in campsite #3 which you said was #2. That’s ok. Anyway we’re having a blast here for 6 days. Thanks for the tip. They’ve closed the gate into the powerhouse that you walked over to. Bummer! So we just rode our bikes around the campground. We’re headed to Captains Table now for some Fish and chips. Thanks again for all your cool videos, we love them and your cheerful smile. Say hi to Joan!💖
@@iLoveRVlife they’ve been amazing! There was a north wind blasting across the lake for a couple days that we thought would blow us on down to the gulf! We’ve been hop scotching here to fill in the gaps between others reservations. So far we’ve been in sites 4, 3 and 17. Wednesday we move to 54 then deeper into Florida on Sunday. Thanks for the video, btw! You really captured the beauty of this place.
Becky and I enjoy all your videos. We really like COE campgrounds and are glad you recommended East Bank. We are fortunate to be staying in site A 5 this week. You're probably jealous. 😉 We just learned that The Captain's Table is permanently closed, so we're planning to try Northside Seafood in Chattahoochee, FL tonight. Keep posting your videos. Dave
Enjoyed this video so much. I grew up (and still live) on that side of Lake Seminole near Chattahoochee. Truly a beautiful area. Yes, you can canoe from the dam to the Gulf. Lake Seminole is a big bass fishing lake and hosts fishing tournaments frequently.
Just drove down to East Bank to check it out. It is beautiful down there. This area took a lot of damage from Hurricane Micheal which came ashore in Mexico Beach as Cat 5 and was still Cat 3 though this area (unheard of!) and destroyed thousand of acres of trees in the process. Few of the roads were passable for weeks. Next time you visit take Booster Club Road, a beautiful curvy road, out of park west into GA. When it dead ends into Hutchinson Ferry Rd, about 10 miles, take a left back to the lake. There’s an old fish camp with a lot of history that has a great seafood restaurant on the lake. Thanks again for your tour; renewed my appreciation of my backyard.
Welcome to our neck of the woods! I live in Panama City, but Eastbank is one of the closest parks to camp in since the hurricane. Great video!! I’m a recent subscriber. Just watched your video on installing the slim shade and will be doing that this weekend before our trip to FDR State Park.
Stayed here a couple of weeks ago on the way to Cloudland Canyon and loved it. Thought you’d want to know though that the great seafood restaurant, Captains Table, that you enjoyed so much has closed and is now a Mexican restaurant. We were so looking forward to the seafood but fortunately because we also “love rv life” we have our own kitchen and grills so problem averted 😊
Just got back from East Bank 10/14/19 and it looks as Captains Table is closed. With luck, we found Rutabaga Cafe is open one block over from the road from town to camp. 5star chef who makes awesome foods and desserts. It’s on the pricy side but OMG🤤 was it good. Camp ground is awesome as well as Hosts.
Nooooo! We loved Captain’s Table. Thanks for the Rutabaga Cafe tip. We saw it was a tad pricey, but on the list when we return. Glad to hear you enjoyed the stay at the campground.
Very nice place! Thank you for sharing! Do you have come across parks with great bicycle paths (not with vehicle traffic and not dirt bikes)? My husband and I enjoy riding our bicycles at Hunting Island SC State Park and Huntington Beach SC State Park....great bicycles trails without worrying about vehicle traffic.
I can think of a few. Maumelle COE in Little Rock. Great place. Can ride from campground along river to Little Rock. Jekyll Island State Park in Georgia. The entire island. Tom Sawyer in West Memphis. From campground across the Mississippi to Riverside Dr in Memphis. Ocean Grove in St. Augustine. Across the street from the entire beach. Stone Mountain In Georgia . Great paved trails all through the park. James Island County Park in SC. Trails throughout the park. Veterans State Park in Georgia. Entire campground and park.
Hi Jerry.... thank you for another great video. Do you think you can check out some campgrounds right off of I 75. would really help out . thanks again
Hi Joanne. Here’s one off I475 which is the Macon bypass th-cam.com/video/90FO9OQ9sfc/w-d-xo.html. Here’s another one, Veteran’s Park in Cordele. It’s a blog before we started the channel, but has good information and a bunch of pictures ilovervlife.com/georgia-veterans-state-park/. This is one we stay at just across the GA/TN line. It’s also a blog ilovervlife.com/chattanooga-holiday-trav-l-park/. Hope these help.
They had cleaned up the camping area, but the woods surrounding still show the damage from the storm. All the nature trails were closed. A massive amount of downed trees and many of the homes in the area still showed roof damage. That was a wicked storm.
Hi Jerry & Joan, on your recommendation we are finally going to visit Eastbank on our way to Cloudland Canyon in a couple months. Any drive/tow tips for the drive from Eastbank up to Cloudland? Safe travels.
Look at the route thru Montgomery, Birmingham and I59 to Trenton. About the same distance as I75, but you skip Altanta. Make sure you have something for the Argentine ants this time of year. Sevens Dust around the jack's and wheels. Get some Cutter and hook to a hose and spray the edge of the grass.
I Love RV Life , thank you. We will check out your suggested route. Are the Argentine ants a “thing” only in summer and are they bad in Eastbank as well as Cloudland Canyon? You provide so much useful info so if you don’t mind I’ll share a little tip we learned some >20 years ago for ants/bugs...sprinkle Comet cleanser from the $ store around the jacks, levelers and anything else that touches the ground from the camper. We always carry some and so far it hasn’t let us down 🤞🏻. Someone mentioned switchbacks going to Cloudland. Hoping they aren’t of concern. Couple years ago in VA another camper told us the route we were planning thru Blue Ridge Parkway was treacherous but when we got on it there were plenty of over the road haulers & RV’s we had to laugh at the guys idea of treacherous. Did require concentration but not bad. Funny memory though. Happy travels.
No ant issues at Cloudland. Something about the warmer months at Eastbank and Comet works too. Make sure you hit the hose and power cable. As you come up from Trenton to the State Park, there is a steep hill with two small switch backs. We managed with no issues with our 40 foot 5th wheel. Just took our time and let Joan enjoy the view.
Just stayed here on 7-18-20. Terrible experience. Stayed in the pull thru spot you showed. The grass was knee high. The nats were so bad you couldn't open your eyes. Argentine ants were everywhere. The volunteers were rude. Too bad, cause you could see how beautiful it could be.
Sorry to hear it wasn’t a positive stay. Maybe COVID is hampering maintenance. We were their the first week of September and that might have been past the gnat season. In these fed and state campgrounds we always travel with Sevens Dust for the jacks and base of the tires and if we run into a large group of surface ants, we’ll hook up a hose to some Cutter and spray the area around the camper.
@@iLoveRVlife you can tell how beautiful it would be. And It was gorgeous in your video. I'll give it another try during the fall or spring. Or when Corona is over. Thank you for the reply. They’re around but easy to manage. Use Comet cleanser and sprinkle on everything that touches the ground - around tires, pads, hoses, cables…. Or a little Sevin Dust if you want to be more aggressive. We do this at most rural campgrounds just in case.
@@iLoveRVlife thanks so much for update. We totally quit camping there, they had taken over so bad and killed all the squirrels. We may give it another try-it’s a beautiful park about an hour from home.

Thanks so much. You’ll like the place. It is a jewel. There is a dump station. Easy access near the campground entrance for the portable tanks and dumping RV on the way out.
Most campgrounds have an ant problem. They’re here too. Non insecticide trick is Comet around everything, tires, Jack’s, wires, hose, etc where they touch the ground. Insecticide option is Sevin Dust. Either works, just depends on what you’re comfortable using. If it rains, remember to treat areas again as soon as it drys out.
