The comment I am commenting on is an example of a person who cannot distinguish reality from fiction. These are the types of people who initiated 227. On 1 may 2023, the video was posted by owner in weibo that showed Zhan, yibo and yibo’s bodyguards walked together into the hotel in hengdian.
2. In august 2020, Zhan visited sdc3. A yibo’s solo fan posted in her weibo account that she saw Zhan in sdc3.
3. On 20 December 2020 in starlight award, no one knew Zhan would attend this event so that protected Zhan from AO3 users. Zhan did rehearse in yibo’s schedule. Yibo’s blamed that his rehearsal schedule took more than any other artists.
4. In July 2022, zhan visited the one and only movie set that Yibo filmed.
Because of 227 incident, no one thought Zhan could return back to Chinese entertainment again. A lot of AO3 users wanted Zhan to get accountability. In my early days as an author, I wrote fan fiction. I think the problem here is that this writer used the real names of real people in her work, which makes it no longer fiction but false reporting. I also read a fair amount of fan fiction on AO3. Some are better than others. But we need to differentiate that fiction is only fiction. No need to be so touchy about it. But I think it is bad taste, to use the real guys' names. This is a very poor imagination and poor writing style. I am a fan of both Wan Yibo and Xiao Zhan. I get so tired that from a good movie, they make it into two gay guys. Why do actors not fight back if not true. I love watching Chinese movies, but why, why does every movie end up in being gay. For me, it's nauseating that every male is gay. So why would I continue to watch movies if they have a beautiful romantic Sean with a female, and then I hear he's actually gay. We are being deceived. The Untamed is a drama based on a danmei novel( meaning two gay men in a relationship) and the romantic scenes were censored. They did not even film the romantic scenes but I will give you hints in the drama to show that they are not just friends. Lan Zhan gives male chicken to Wei Ying which in some parts of China signifies payment of dowry( note that I mentioned two male chicken). When Wei Ying wakes up in Cloud Recess and he is walking around, he sees two male rabbits kissing. Also, when he had been unwell and he woke up from his bed in Lotus Pier, he saw a carving of two males kissing on his headboard. Not to fail to mention a scene where these are watching the snow and Lan Zhan retreats back to the room, Wei Ying drops his belt to show they spent a night together. You just have to be a little more keen.

I had seen how toxic chinese fans are when I was there for a short period of time. It wasn't just Zhao Zan who became a victim but even Shen Yue who was so young back then had been maliciously attacked too just becoz she was in some sort of a "special" relationships with Dylan Wang. It may appeared soft and simple bashing outside of China but when you are inside the country, you will be overwhelmed about the heaviness of defaming and stalking hard of celebrities. Many were a victims of the toxicity of the hardcore fans. They are more dangerous and wicked than the Sasaeng of South Korea. BTW are you expecting freedom of expression and speech in a communist country like China? There's no such thing like freedom and democracy in that country.

This happened because his fans went on and messed with multiple fandoms so the incident involved dozens and dozens of fandoms. The reason why he got hate is that he didn't ask his fans to tone it down. This was a PR nightmare. He didn't control his fans until much later, months later, where he posted on weibo that he didn't need people defending him. His fans brought this upon him because he couldn't manage them to create a good internet enviroment. He also had to apologize for other things that people dug on him, like his racist remarks and sexist comments. He used the "i was young" excuse, but still had to apologize and also had to apologize publicly for raking public resources and attention with a scandal his fans caused.
It's 2024 and he stills struggles with his fandoms. For example, that moment at the aiport you showed at the end is the best one of recent times. He sent out a statement asking for zero fans at the airport and he was mobbed. This has happened every single time he has stepped on an airport since 2021.
MANY are his fans and many are ANTIS paid to cause trouble for IDOLS in China .Other Idols go thru the same crap and especially at airports. China is known for its TOXIC FAN WARS.
