All other Bonds turned into fantasy characters, even the recent Bond feels unreal in the last two movies. Only Dalton's Bond became human-like after the first movie.
After the season of comedy and parody with the right man Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton - must play in ''A View to a Kill'' - was the right man at the right time. But he was unlucky, because he came to the end of the Cold War (a basic theme in the Bond films script) and in the years 1990 - 1994 without a Bond movie.
"The Living Daylights" is wonderfully romantic, and the first act of the movie is the literary Bond put onto the screen like probably never before; Dalton is outstanding in it. The action is fantastic as always under John Glen; the only weaker link for me are the villains: Koskov is well-played, but written in a slightly over-smug and over-comical way; Whittaker is altogether forgettable, also gets too little screentime. Overall, it's one of my favorites. Maybe doesn't quite make the top 5, in favor of "Licence to Kill", which I just love.
People forget or dont know Dalton was heavily criticized as Bond by fans, crictis, movie goers, they also hated The way he said "Name is Bond, James Bond" and he was basically booed off. I was one of them. However I recently went back to relooked at Living Daylights and License to Kill which was the first PG13 Bond and I found I really liked him as Bond when at the time I didn't. Funny how time changes your view
Same here. I remember not liking Dalton as 007 at the time. I couldn't connect with the movie also. I think I was too young and I remember not liking the Russian defector storyline. Watching it again now with new eyes I can see that Dalton was one of the best and it is a shame he didn't do more.
@@RobertK1993Timothy Dalton has always been an amazing James Bond actor. He is my favourite James Bond actor and he was perfect in both The Living Daylights and License To Kill. I would love to see Timothy Dalton in GoldenEye.
Dalton is terribly underrated. I wish he was in more Bond films. The 2 he was in were great.
A big fan of Timothy Dalton. I wish he made more James Bond movies.
Loved every minute of Timothy Dalton's interview ♥️
I wish he did more Bond films. I am a huge fan of the books, and he was almost exactly like the literary Bond.
