So the Smith j frames that come equipped with a Crimson Trace laser are adjusted for 50 feet? A j frame? That seems very impractical. Half that would be useful for 95% of users.
I bought a pair of Crimson Trace Laser grips for a small pistol I carry, followed the instructions in the maual,1/4 turn as suggested was perfect.Could not be happier with the product or technical advice.
I came here for 3:12 - I bought a Viridian laser grip for my Taurus 856 and it came out of the box pointing too far right. I nearly unscrewed the windage all the way out trying to force it left. You just saved me a lot of heartache, mate! Thanks.
Nice job, I've had two CT that I had to do the calibration reset. Great piece of advice. I'm very happy with my 3 CT lasers. What has always impressed me is they keep zero even after you change batteries (your mileage may vary?).
Love your grips - never a problem and never a change of zero. I couldn't be happier - truly a very happy customer. NOW - if someone at CTC could get rid of this HORRIBLE must that accompanies the into you'd be far better off. It is the most annoying racket I've heard and I watch a LOT of TH-cam vids pertaining to the firearms industry. Thank you for your superior product and thank you for considering my request. I'd hate to see some people turn down your product because of this server annoyance.
I chose to ZERO my point of convergence (POC) at 12.5 yds (37.5ft). My trigger guard laser sits 1/2 inch under my muzzle. So, my point of impact (POI) will only be 1/2 inch high - decreasing as I approach my POC with the flip (high now = low) being mostly true out to 25 yds. The drop rate at the 25 yd point will be a bit more but close enough. Plus, if I keep my whits about me I can make mental adjustments and aim the dot a fraction higher. Even if not, I don't expect my POI to be less than an inch off of where the dot hits.
Great instructional video. I am attempting to recalibrate mine, however my height starts out too low from the start-after it starts to move, it only goes lower. The left and right adjustment works well. Anything I can try next to get the laser point raised?
FIRST, FIRST, FIRST, the pistol's iron sights must be sighted in. Check that FIRST. If your fixed sights are off, take it to a gunsmith to correct. Then align your laser to match. If your pistol is off six inches at 30 feet so will your laser be. If you readjust your laser at the range to be on target, it will always be different than your iron sights. I also recommend that your laser not be sighted in at close range because it will be way off for a longer range target especially with a side mounted laser. Pistol lasers are not overly precise but I want to be on target at 25+ yards. For anything closer I will still be darn close.
I've had several. The size of the adjustment tool does vary between model TYPES; that is, rail-mounted, trigger-guard mounted, grip-type, as well as for pocket pistol vs. full size. The good news is that it's not a specialized, proprietary tool; it's basically a mini or micro allen wrench, available online.
Jazzmine Jackson: You should get'm where I did. The store gave me a choice: either get one at half the double price or they'd give it to me for FREE if I pay for it! Just goes to show you that anything is possible.
I sure wish they'd replace the laser I contacted them about... Activation feels like a 20lb trigger pull. I got a half off code for their site to order a replacement. Which is perpetually out of stock.
i have the ct grip for my .22 barretta and i can NOT get the damned teeny tiny frikken allen wrenches to work! they are literally the size of a needle and NOT perfect in shape! i am giving up and shooting low and to the left if need be!
Darren Haywood: You never HAVE to shoot, but if you want to...have fun! :) Otherwise, you can line the laser up with the regular sights on your firearm, when aimed correctly.
Can anyone tell me the screw size for the screw for the battery retainer for LG 415G? I lost mine and I've emailed Crimson Trace 6 times with no response.
What do you do when the elevation screw comes out? I tried everything to get it to zero, but its not working and I can't find any information on what to do when the elevation screw fall out..
Nicko Linkz: Make sure, when at the range, that you are using your laser equipped firearm, not someone else's and that someone else isn't using your firearm, which would explain the laser going on and off. Then, make sure, when you're using your firearm, that you are holding the grip. Or, just use your firearm away from the range since, based on what you wrote, the problem occurs there. Other than this silly advice, it sounds like the battery contacts are oxidized or the circuit is otherwise intermittently broken.
Question, is this annoying though if you are just target practicing or using it in the field for daily use. (say its on a 6inch revolver) It's great because you pick it up and it turns on, but is it annoying because every time you pick it up its on and shining around. (wear batteries too)
This is SO dumb as it assumes the iron sights are zeroed in which frequently is not the case. Wouldn't a video using a laser boresighter and adjusting crimson trace to that make way more sense?
This guy talks like an instructor and NOT like a shooter. How I sighted my LCR was by firing 3 rounds and comparing their impact to where the laser was pointing. So, I put the laser on target, fired three rounds and then compared their impact to center. Simple and I did not need to explain how the space shuttle works
He is a shooter and an instructor. This video is designed to cover - in depth - sighting-in and recalibrating. Your method is sound however, and it is actually used quite a bit depending on the experience of the shooter.
ironoutlaw777 WHY? lol ever video I see about laser sights there's always this comment. im trying to find one that doesn't say this so I can do it lololol

Seems like a good product, but hey why the heck did you guys make the adjustment screws TWO different sizes? Seems bizarre to me as of why
A-1 customer service. You guys rock!

Thank you. I found the video helpful. Would a bore sight laser be useful when sighting in at a desired range?
Thank You. Have and XDS45 that I just sighted in at 17 yards.
Invaluable information. Well done sir

I thought if you put your gun in a vice so it doesn’t move at all when you shoot you can adjust the laser where the shot went
What is proper distance for a.revolver, when sighting in a laser sight?.... Also what is the size of the adjustment screws?... Thanks.
What size wrench is this? Just picked a gun with these grips but the laser is like 12ft off and I don’t have all the original gear for it

@@EricRedbear I solved the problem by using the Crimson Trace only on windless days.

Yup. I don't understand why Crimson Trace wouldn't try to sell you a laser boresighter too.
Thanks for the instructions. Do all Crimson Trace Lasers use the same sized adjustment tool, or are they Laser dependent?

Great video!
How many feet should I use to set it on target? Would, say, 25' be good or should it be farther away?
Bill Vin Ord: You don't need to use your feet at all. In fact, doing so to set the target would be quite the feat.
Excellent video very helpful, great product too.
How do I turn off the laser on my 40 maf
What size is that horizontal Allen? I can't find my miniature tools.
ROBERT RODRIQUEZ: You left your miniature tools in the lower left draw of your tool box.
I started twisting a part on my laser and when i point my laser straight ahead the laser look like its all the way to the right of me wat i do?
I sure wish they'd replace the laser I contacted them about... Activation feels like a 20lb trigger pull. I got a half off code for their site to order a replacement. Which is perpetually out of stock.
What happens if you turn the hex key to much will it mess the lazer up if you turn it to much?
Adam Cianci: As an experiment I've turned the hex key to much and to something else. I didn't notice TOO much but I did notice not noticing anything.
Wat size Allen wrench to adjust it
NOT ON MARKET, COST 10 BUCKS FROM MFG....YOU MUST RecalibratE FIRST IF YOU NEED TO SIGHT IN AND HOPE IT WORKS

I have a Glock 29 which crimson trace laser do I need

My laser keep turning off and on every time I shoot at the range

There's an on/off button neat the bottom of the grips. When turned off squeezing the activation button will not turn on the laser.
How to take them off?
TG Burna: I've found that using a tool and your hands works best, though sometimes someone else's hands do the job just as well.
bought one of these for my rpg but didn’t fit unsatisfied and returned instantly 😡
MERK VIVID Lol
Instantly
I would rather use a boresighter to line up the laser.
John Lloyd Scharf: To each their own, they say. Note, though, that boresighting doesn't take into account the curvature of a bullet's path.
