Who is Robin Warner? - Brief description and bio
Robin spent five years of his adult life as an engineer. Four years at a Tier One supplier, TRW Automotive (now ZF TRW Auto), working as a traction and stability control calibration engineer, and little over a year as a vehicle dynamics engineer at Ford Motor Company.
Furthermore, he spent 15 years of his adult life holding different editor positions at various magazines, including Associate Technical Editor at Car and Driver, Road Test Editor at Road & Track, and Managing Editor at Autoweek.
Robin also spent several years racing. He started in autocross, then bought a go-kart and then another one. Having a lot of success, including a Great Lakes Sprint Series championship in 2002, he moved to single-seaters, racing in the 2003 Skip-Barber Midwest Championship, the 2003-2004 Skip Barber Southern Championship, and the 2004 Formula Dodge National Championship.

One of the most genuine car reviews I have come across - insta subbed. This is an awesome Mini Van except for a few things, some of them potentially deal breaking for some:
1. Kia really should have offered AWD option
2. Offer 8 row seating with the features of rest of the SX prestige model (SVM, Dual moonroof, reverse collision sensors, bose audio etc.)
3. Rear turn indicator location is really stupid - poor design choice across all models of Carnival
4. Cargo area AC plug isn’t as powerful as the competition - its only like 100 Watts I think (can't use a portable cooktop for example)

I will never buy another Kia. Period. We contacted the Kia Corporate office to help with an issue we had after our car broke down on the side of the interstate 2 times after being serviced at 2 different Kia dealerships, Langdale Kia in Valdosta and Crown Kia in Saint Petersburg. Kia Corporate gave us the run around, telling us they would send our service request upper management to have it approved. After 3 weeks, they finally told us that no our car wasn’t under warranty! What?! It’s like they didn’t even read what we submitted. Kia doesn’t know how to fix their own vehicles and doesn’t care if they break down multiple times. This has been a horrible

Yes I’m interested in hauling “things” than people LOL. I was liking the new sienna hybrid but the seats don’t come out like these. Nice room.
The one thing I can’t figure out with the prestige is would a younger child be able to fit between the middle seats to go to the back and get settled. It seems that when not reclining they move apart a slight amount. Any input on this feature?
Yes, when the middle row seats are moved to the forward position, they can both move side to side. With both middle seats moved toward the sliding doors, there is plenty of room to get in between them and to the third row.
I think they nailed it.. if that second door handle was rearward u would be hard pressed not to think this wasn't a SUV.. in fact this vehicle looks more SUV like than the current gen Honda pilot..

Can you install middle row facing backwards?
Not that I'm aware of, Rushi, no.
You can with all the other models expect the prestige. Those middle vip seats are useless.
@@bigfrosty114 Yup. Should have an option for all the SX Prestige options without the powered second row. Makes you choose between the utilitarian 8 row seating and a few more bells and whistles, the most useful to me being the blind spot dash view although full LED reflector lights also improve safety. But the Carnival is the 2nd best selling car in all of Korea. Not just van, but among all car classes. Kia did well with this one.
cylinder block with liners?
I'm not certain, but the V6 likely has iron liners in the cylinders.
It looks more like a Suburban than a Minivan.

Rest of the world: Yup.. Just another cool MPV. What is a minivan?
NO AWD. I'm done, lol.
Kia Trying to sell this as not a minivan really fails when:
1. They made it front wheel drive only
2. The tow rating is inline with the other minivans, and not crossovers like the Telluride and Palisade.
They REALLY need to consider adding these features if they want this to be a true "MULTI" purpose vehicle.
I think all minivans are multi-purpose, frankly. But totally agree with you that all-wheel-drive help, though I think making it capable of towing 5,000 lbs. would hurt other attributes, such as weight-to-power and fuel economy.
