Just bought one of these in perfect condition, only used on 2 DD 15’s for 3 months at 1 ohm. Picked it up for $1200. Very happy to see a test on it.
Actually I am in the process of a build. It will be running 6 sundown zv5 12 at .75 ohm. In a fourth order bandpass.

@@KidCoyle I’m on my 3rd one in a little over a year. 9 DB 302 12’s. 27 cubic foot tuned to 25. Running at .45 ohm on a DB aak 20,000.1. 12 DB 6.5’s running on an aak 180.4. 144ah cmax. Dual 400 amp alts. The DD amps are in one of my friends trucks who currently has the world record for wall 1 subsonic suicide. With 2 18’s he’s doing a 156.2@20hz clamping under 5000 watts. I work from home so stereo stuff is about all I do. Lol. This is my second team DB vehicle in a year. I still have and compete with the first one.
The DD M5 is a beast of a amplifier
For those that don’t know an amp dyno is resistive loads measurements @ 1% Total Harmonic Distortion, Clipping, & Dynamic Burst @ 1% THD. The impedance is locked/ set & doesnt fluctuate or rise. When an amp powers a sub the impedance changes every for each frequency being reproduced, even changes when you gently press on the cone/ dust cap of the sub.
Yes sir that impedance rise in real world changes everything. This is exactly why an amm-1 is so cool. I stay wired at. 5 16VOLT year round. For shows I'll run several days at. 25 and will rise to 1
I have one of these running 1/2 ohm on 8 12’s. Never went into protect once. Mechman 400 amp alternator, external regulator, charging at 15.5. 5 14 volt Xs power. Holds around 13.6 volts at full volume 36hz. DD told me amp is prolly doing around 14,000 watts at that voltage and impedance dynamically. Yes I understand box rise and all of that stuff. Which is the only reason why it’s not shutting down at that impedance . But I couldn’t be happier with the amp. And I live in Florida where it’s 100° all the time. No fans on the amp at all. Anyway just wanted to give a shout out to DD Audio. Awesome amp. Little pricey but very nice. Do a .5 dynamic. It will handle it. I think. Lol. Certified prolly not.

@@Facekicker I have it on 8 Savard hi-q d2 12 inch in a 22 cubic foot 4th order. The actual impedance measured at my amp is about .6. I have never played it for more than 30 seconds at a time because it’s too loud. But it has never cut out and never went into protect. .5 certified is just brutal. DD Audio was kind enough to tell me when I told them what I was doing with the amp that it was not under warranty but if I were to blow it up they would fix it for $275. And ship it back to me. Which I thought was pretty awesome.

Very exspensive but like a Rolex someone needs to show off in luxurious style. If I had the money 💰 l would love this amp to bad I'm broke.

@@famousmoon these amps are quality seriously i got a DM1000a and it pounded. Been back and forth between DD and Skar. Tried a SFB 2k but it lasted a hour
@@noahingle7497 I have a m2c.. and a d4.75 both put in work, the m4 will do 7to8k which is cheaper then the m5b but I get there quality amps but for the price of this one amp you could take that money and buy 1 or 2 20k amplifers that do rated or 6 to 8 8k amplifers that do rated and are still quality

Could you tell me which old used amp you would recommend that puts out 1.5-2kw on 3 ohm?

Half ohm dynamic? Should handle that no problem. I totally understand not doing certified. That’s like doing 1/4 ohm on speakers....or worse. Only curious because I’m in the process of a build running one of these on 8 12 Savard hi-q. Trying to decide if I’m going to run the amp at 1 ohm or .5
Would it be possible to dyno a DD Audio M4a? I have one and have heard multiple tell me its not worth upgrading to the M5 because the M4a is pretty much an M5 difference is 1-1.5k wrms at given Voltage (say 14v).

Which test is more a musical rating expectation, uncertified?
Uncertified is typically regarded as the most "real world" test, although you'll need to account for whatever rise you might have.
I wanna see the dd m4a dyno I have one and wanna see what it does at 16 volts
Please measure the power of DD SS4b all channels in 4 ohms and 2 ohms

Update... dd is coming out a new m5a. Much stronger. Goin that route. 35% stronger and triple inputs along with other changes

I just noticed on the new M 5 AMPS they got three hots and three grounds yours only got 2 gounds and two hots wonder why
M5A is a better amp. This the M5B
it is possible to measure it at 0.5ohm or even a little lower? at 14.4 or 15v
Amps tend to explode or fail at .5 resistive with no impedance rise.
