Roborock S7 MaxV 2133 m2 5 Months Later Review Durability Maintenance Quality Real World Test

  • I wish there was a video like this for every product I'm looking to purchase, a real-world overtime test and experience. Robot vacuums are everywhere but there is a lot about them. Quality of the product is the second important factor next to features, what is the point of something if it doesn't work as intended

    This vacuum has one major problem. The dust bin has no sensors to tell it when the bin is full. Once the bin is full, the robot will continue pushing dirt across the floor. I called Roborock tech support and they told me that the ONLY time the robot will empty the bin is at the end of the job. If you have pets who shed this vacuum is worthless.

    Hello, my roborock S7 started doing some squeaking noise. I have cleaned everything and tried lubricating the front wheel, but still the same. Any Idea what it could be ? Thx

    fantastic review! especially the part about cleaning under chairs. I have one small question: how would you score the mop washing feature? asking this because I currently have a s7+ and am thinking about upgrading to the s7 maxv ultra

      Thanks for comment and support
      Regarding mopping for maintenance and with low amount of dirt it is absolutely awesome
      My advice for all people out there is that if there is a lot of dirt always vacuum / manually clean first
      I love how during winter at my house entrance hallway it cleans perfectly footsteps from muddy boots …

    I’ve had the ultra for about 3 weeks now and it’s become indispensable. My floors always had some amount of dog hair and debris, especially near the baseboard moulding. Not anymore!
    The mopping feature works very well, as indicated by the murky water dispensed into the dirty water tank. How it cleans its own mop head is just sorcery!
    Roborock suggests using its own cleaning solution but any non-corrosive one that doesn’t foam much will work - Fabuloso makes one with 2% lactic acid and other inert compounds so it’s hardly corrosive. Its been working great using a 50/50 mix with distilled water.
    I’ve had a few robovacs before and the Roborock’s power, efficiency, coverage, and especially maintenance is so much better. Just a remarkable machine it’s like the product designers addressed every gripe I’ve had with robovacs!

I dont like the 3D Camera Robots. But i dont know if i should also buy me a Normal Roborock S7. Because the mainbrush is better for carpets and the mop Lifting is nice to clean the Appartement in one tour. If you would sell your S7, maybe with a good price i would buy it 😅.

    I used to have a Roomba (years and years ago). One of the reasons we stop using it was because it didn’t have LiDAR so it rubbed/bumped into everything.
    How does this model go with not touching anything? Does it ever scratch / bump into anything? If so, how often etc
    This model looks doesn’t look to touch walls/furniture etc
    What are your thoughts?

      Hey Steve
      S7 MaxV is really advanced with sensors etc ... when you turn everything on it really see everything and avoid everything so regarding that it is one of the best options

    Hey! I'm thinking about buying one, but I have following problem: When my dog drinks, he drips all over the floor. If a normal vacuum takes in the water it will start smelling bad and maybe rotting inside. Does the robot have a sensor for wet spots on the floor to avoid vacuuming wet stuff or how does it handle wet spots and moist at all? Thank you very much!

    • @donmarkon
      @donmarkon  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Your concern is valid sadly it wont avoid wet spots. But i think it wont cause that much of the problems on the long run...
      You can always use only mopping mode if you want it to clean the floors only without the vacuuming

      I just pick up my dogs bowl and wipe up the water around it before I run it. It’s been no issue. I was worried about that too. It’s satisfying after it’s clean to put the bowl back without the gross water all around haha.

    I have a new Roborock S7 and it is making an awefull mechanical sound from its wheels when driving forward. I can't seem to figurer out what is wrong, and I don't have the nerves to open it up and try to unattach the wheels :/

      Hey
      Did you resolve this?

  • @dionmasters
    @dionmasters ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I have the Roborock s7. There is one very bad design flaw. The access to the vacuum motor. There is an error after many months of use that will say "Filter blocked or wet, clean, dry and retry." It wont stop the machine but the vacuum mesh on the outside and on top of the motor is blocked with dust. It severely reduces the power of the vacuum. The problem is you have to take apart the entire machine to get access to this. About 50 screws later.... They should have made the access by cutting the opening on the main cover and had this screwed down instead. This would have made cleaning this much easier. I just have to completely disassemble this every 6-12 months to clean... which is a pain and takes about 2 hours.

    protip - buy DXRacer(or similar) chair, on bigger ones at least, wheel legs are much better configured and lower, S5 perfectly drives around them, drawing a flower picture, and s7 I think almost the same size :) A bit sad really, if only wheels were just few cm higher robot would just go under entire chair.

    Thank you for this informative review. I've got one on order with the auto-empty dock. I understand that this is 4" tall including the laser housing on top so it should also easily fit under my bed. Arthritis makes low-crawling with my canister vac half-way under beds a bit painful.
