Thanks Joe for allowing us to "suffer" with you!! Looks like a dandy heater!!
I like the product reviews as long as theyre unbiased and honest
That looks like a nice heating option. Thanks for the video Joe !
Joe a 3rd possibility for the tent is as a outhouse heater. I am interested in these myself for a few applications so Ill be paying close attention!
I drive an 18-wheeler and I have one in the truck. I would never go without one.
I have mine inside my 10x20 workshop in New England, no diesel smell issues. I got a 12v inverter for like $20 on Amazon and plug it in so I don't need a battery. When it's cold I run it 24/7 on low and keep the place at 40ish, when I'm working out there I can get it up into the 60's even at 0 temps. Shop is minimally insulated post and beam with 13' roof peak. Love mine.
Other sponsorships you should look at is lighter Fluid and Sketchers. These shoes go anywhere.
I been watching all your videos on all your channels. I love watching all of them. U are such a hard worker I don't know how u do it. Hope you're surgery goes well mellisa so knows how to cook. U are a cute couple. I'm 61 and I still do the maintenance on our place and u just blow my mind how smart u are. Thank u for being u
Thank you Sarah for thew very nice comment.
This was an awesome review, glad to see you finally doing some. Definitely hope to see you do some more in the future, I’d trust your opinion without hesitation. Screw the haters.
Thanks Joe. I just shopped one for my camper. Blessings.
Feel your Pain Joe. My cousin bought a diesel heater to help out at my hunting camp. Been a month or so and he is still tweaking it. Been using our Good old Buddy heaters as we have been using for a few years for assistance to the furnace for now.
Another toy!! Hell yeah, I've been looking into the diesel heater for my garage, I've been using a kerosene heater for years, but the price went way up.. It's always good to have a back up that's reasonable priced... Looking forward to the Hunt, good luck.. Stay safe and have a great day.👍🤓👍🤓.Randy.
With these heaters you can use off road diesel which is like half the price of regular diesel.
I just ordered mine !
Love your show !
Thanks for sharing with us Joe, going to look into one of theses for my shed too. Stay safe, Fred.
I have one similar I used a piece of brake line 3/16 to put off into a 5 gallon container don’t forget the antigel! I also built a box with roxul insulation to muffle the sound of the fuel pump
These are a must in an RV , motorhome etc ,
You were right, it is affordable, nice little heather, perfect for camping
Those Silvel diesel heaters are awesome. We use one to heat our tiny house. The pump is a.little loud but it performs amazing.
I have that exact same one use it for winter camping works great in my insulated tent.. Love the videos keep em coming joe !!!
Thanks for having us suffer with you putting the heater together, we need to learn the good and bad of it also. : ) I'm wondering if it would be good to build a covered shelf for that thing to keep rain/snow off of it and to get the battery off of the ground. I hope you post a lot of videos on this, I'm wanting to get one myself.
Bought my 1st one around 6 years ago and one of the best things over ever bought, nice dry heat and cheap to run, just put a 2kw in my camper van and it’s more than enough on the lowest setting,,edit and I run that one off my ecoflow river max
Great honest product overview Joe! I hope the manufacturer takes note of your comments such as the poor instructions etc. From Coventry England.
Most of the solar generators/power bank the 12v cig ports are 10amp regulated power. That is why it wouldn't work Joe. I have a couple of EcoFlow units and the round barrel 12v ports a rated higher amps depending on which unit, I think there 8 & 5mm. I like my River Pro & Delta 2 a lot. Hope this might help you out for power?
I will check that out. I have an ecoflow and I have 2 bluettis coming this week. I will check and see what they have. You could be right.
Im putting one of those in my sheephearder wagon to use at night when my woodstove goes out in the winter. My semi truck had one with a thermostat, the diesel fuel came from the semi fuel tank ,nice and toasty all night in the winters without running the truck all night. Lots of people put them in their cabin cruiser boats also.
Joe, great video as always. I'm looking for something like this to heat a partial basement from time to time, this may work. Thanks for the good feedback on this product.
I'm here for moral support Joe. This doesn't really interest me but I here you anyway. I appreciated all your hard work and the content you put out.😊
will be interesting how this works long term. Thanks Joe.
Been waiting 10 years for one of these diesel heater manufacturers to make a quiet fuel pump.
Thanks Joe! Looks like a great thing to have!
Would like to see the battery draw, I would think running for a few hours would drain that battery. Like you mentioned a 12v dc converter might be better. Also cutting holes in the walls is always scary. Too bad there is no close window to mount outside of like an AC unit. Thanks for sharing Joe
They pull about 8 amps on start up and once running it pulls about 0.7. VERY minimal power usage. I have no problem cutting holes in walls, I have been doing it my whole life. Lol.
I would build a wood box big enough to fit the heater and the battery in and insulate it to make it warm once it heats up for your winter camping
Awesome review Joe! Thank you!
These would be great ice fishing or deer camp except for one thing. You could hear that thing for a mile in the quiet woods. Heating my shed in town its not a problem.
How about one for the outhouse.😀
Great video.
Great video
Gonna need a insulated box to put over that heater being outside able to draw freah air and exhaust vented out of box otherwise extreme cold will gel desiel even treated!!!❤
Joe says you’re gonna suffer with me lol 😂
I think that is going to be a great deal of help for you up at the tent
Simple living alaska had a simular type heater and they had to build a insulated box to cover it because it froze up and quit !
Awesome heater really cool! 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Joe I can hear the excitement in your voice about that heater must be a great one
Thanks for the video always was wondering about those heaters
Cool little heater !
"You guys are gonna suffer through this with me!" 🤣🤣🤣😛😛😛
Love your channel Joe. Wonder if that diesel heater will work on my fishing boat. I currently use a Webasto Heater for my fishing boats. That is something that looks interesting. Thanks Joe.
Hey Joe if you say so then it’s all right and thanks for sharing! 👏👏👏🤩🤩🤩💯💯💯
Joe don't worry about what some think cuz if people don't try the stuff out of we know if you say it's not worth buying is a good thing but any way the one I got the remote does control the temperature but good luck & god bless you and yours & thanks again
شكرا لك صديقي جو اشعر بالراحة عند متابعتك ...
Great heating option.
Thanks Joe
That maybe what we need down here in southwest Florida for the 3 to 4 weeks a year some years.
Hello from Siesta Key Florida
Just in the mornings. A hour or 2.
I've been wanting to put one of these in my garage but have been nervous to do it.
that is awesome, I use a webasto heater in my crane.
they are really expensive,
I might get one of the ones you and Zach have, for a fish house one day
Very Interesting Video....one of many.
You got that silvel heater install I seen enough of your videos to know this is just a pebble in your way
I'm waiting for some outfit to send you a cabbed tractor. Maybe a TYM or even a Kubota or Deere!
I cut a board that fits in a window for the vent and extended the wires for the controller so its long enough to be inside as well as bought a converter so it plugs into the wall.
I love all your videos, keep up the good work.
Joe, build a insulated portable box for using heater at the Tent or Fish House. This will help with cold weather issues.
Have looked at those since Zach did his review of the one he got. Would be something nice to have. Thanks for sharing, Joe. Good luck hunting. Juddie - J £ J TOA
"...shove it through the wall..." Thats our Joe! 😅 👍🇨🇦😎
Joe, the only issue I’d have with the unit being outside is the fuel gelling up in those frigid Minnesota winters. You’ll have to treat the fuel probably.
The fuel here is treated at the pump. As winter gets colder, they put more treatment in it. The nice thing is that you can use off road diesel (the colored stuff) and pay very little for the fuel.
Sounds like you’re covered. Anxious to see how that heater performs.
Nice little unit and cheap enough too ! Curious as to why you really want the air intake from inside ? Colder cleaner air is always better for combustion. Guessing your concern is if it’s snowing and windy ? Take care Joe
Pretty sure he means the heated air not the combustion air. You burn less fuel if you're heating the air from inside the tent or whatever. Especially once it's hovering around the desired temp.
Not the combustion air, that is pulled from outside. It is the heated air. It is more efficient to heat the air from inside because as it gets warmer the heater has less to heat. If that makes sense. The combustion part of the heater is totally separate from the heated air.
Gotcha. Not well versed in these heaters and misunderstood what you were saying. Never too old to learn something new. Lol
Thank you for the video. Will this work at high altitude over 10,000 feet?
I am not sure, we are at around 2,000 ft.
From my experience, if you have more than 10' of cord, you need a 30 or 40A fuse - I blew 2 - 20A in the glow plug cycle and did not have 30A fuses and poped in a 40 - THe 40 made it work flawlessly - Mine is not the same make - But they are _all_ the same
One tip - Buy one of the cheap dial controllers as back up - The biggest failures are the fancy screen failing - In a pinch the simple dial will work as a back up.
I'm thinking that diesel heater would be perfect in an outhouse.
Thanks Joe, we will suffer with you, LOL We made it to the tent, Hooray extra heat. Good luck, hope you get a deer this year.
run the intake air from the tent to have a cold air return. will heat the tent faster, you are drawing the lower cold air from the tent to the heater
Exactly what I tried to explain in this video. It will be much more efficient once I do that.
Just to be nosy - Are you going to make an elevated insulated box for the heater and tube so theres less of a chance the diesel "freezes" during winter? and so the animals don't mess with the wires from the battery (I honestly don't know if 1) the heating element/engine would conduct heat to the case of the unit enough or 2) if you have a problem with animals chewing/exploring things on the tent.)
Looks good, but the tapping sound would drive me crazy... Thanks for sharing...
Joe those are called a bunk heater in a semi truck
As long as the exhaust goes outside the heater is safe inside, it's not water proof, they are awesome
Just to add, I bought an exhaust extension pipe
As far as I’m aware the signal icon on the control panel is for the remote not internet and it won’t regulate the heat to a temperature you just set the heating level it kicks out, cheaper heaters tend to develop running issues sooner then others, my suggestion would be a LPG heater that blows hot air in the same way, “PROPEX Heatsource” Brand in the U.K. are very reliable
You should get one for the outhouse to allow you to take your nature breaks in a warm manner.
Sounds good, how much noise was there inside then? Thanks kt
Hey I'm on my second day of hunting and tonight watching you screw around .I really am considering a couple of these.I live off grid so I walk out the door at home to hunt. This be handy for me I only burn wood.cant go far from home with the wood as you no.your dad will have a couple I'm sure
Good luck with the hunt
That’s a sweet little unit there joe! I think it’s smart to install it outside the fuel pump click will drive ya crazy! Can’t wait to see it installed!
Video like good luck jon Atlanta silver 😊😊😮
I still use my Dearborn in the shop with good ole propane. Lol
Ive had one for a few years now. Use it heat my castle in and emergency and one to heat the chicken coop!!!! They are awsome. Apparently they were used in semis as heat and most truckers hated em?
I was a Semi driver. Most trucks had the small Wabasto shoe box sized diesel heater. The trucks lack of insulation and the smaller heater my truck wasn't comfortable when the temps got into the teens😢
Set it outside in a plastic container with a lid and cut out container as you need it ,that way it for the exhaust and heater hose stays out of the weather.
You can get them with an external fuel tank as well.
I been looking at one of those also
I just got one of these from Vine. Won’t be here till Wednesday but I wanted to see exactly how it operated and mainly how low it was. This will be awesome in my Jeep Wrangler YJ. I need to check about carbon monoxide which is something that concerns me. I assume if the exhaust is out it will be good to go
most of the truckers have been heating there riggs with these for like 70 years. they burn very effecient and clean. if the housing cracked or came apart you could have problems. never assume and use a monitor.
Always blow the cold air toward the heat source
? how did your hernia operation go
Joes doing it in 2024. Probably has a deductible he has to meet.
Are you going to build some type of box to put over it when the snow comes, or is it okay for the snow to cover it?
I have not gotten that far yet. Lol. I will let you know.
That ticking would drive me crazy..
At Joe that's not too bad three or four years ago I asked you how come you didn't put a mini split in at the tent very low on the electric and it would heat the whole place until power went out then you would have to use the stove
Joe i see a guy the other day were he put his desiel generator in a box and insulated it with th battery in the box also ahe rapped the exhaust with heat rap andvent insulation the fish shack
Do you have any plans for how you put together the dear camp tent?
This is all I have. th-cam.com/video/gE_sMi3yUJo/w-d-xo.html. You can see the addition being built and all the remodels in the videos somewhere.
A +
Do you know if those heaters charges the battery when in use?
They do not.
@@NorthernSeclusion would be nice if there could come out with a unit that could
Would it be better if the power module were wired inside? I was wondering if it is a thermostat. I’m going to build a 20x20 or 24x24 shed/workshop next year and would think about using the diesel heater.
get one with wifi then you can control it on your iphone. also replace tank with quick connect boat tank.
I cant see where the muffler drain hole is. Be sure the hole is not blocked when the exhaust pipe is laid down.
Diesel kerosene basically the same the exhaust that may be a different story I'm surprised that the fuel tank is not modular I had a kerosene heater 30+ years ago that allowed you to take the tank outside to refuel like a cartridge
You ran it for 3 hours how much fuel did it use..?
I did not have it filled up and did not check what the fuel level was at. Stay tuned for other videos where I am using it. I was just trying to see how it throws the heat in this video and it really throws the heat.
Should have your battery inside from the cold !
