    I’d love to see a video of you redoing your yarn room with more storage. I realize that’s a big project, but if you’re thinking about doing it, I’d definitely watch.

    Buying in bulk something you use often is great! But as someone who also lives in a small space it can be so hard. For those big amounts you should invest in some stackable clear plastic tubs to help keep yourself organized. I think you could make it work in the space you have right now, within limits.

    • @JansmaIvy
      @JansmaIvy 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      You could potentially even stack the boxes the skeins come in sideways and make it work like the shelves behind you, with the skeins ‘lying flat’. If you can’t immediately buy a new shelve or tubs.

    If you're struggling to keep things in stock, it may be time to raise your prices! Especially for your scrunchies. You could definitely raise them to 2 for $8 at least!

    • @juliettealexander8537
      @juliettealexander8537 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +13

      Especially when you take into account the JC yarn is $9.99 and she can only make 3.5 scrunched out of one skein. She barely covers her cost of supplies. (I say this with love and amazement, not judgment).

    • @OllieBunz
      @OllieBunz 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +13

      @juliettealexander8537 That was my thought exactly! I personally would sell them for $5 each due to the yarn price alone and the extreme demand for them. I worry for her hands and wrists as well!

  • @GraceMariex3
    @GraceMariex3 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +17

    I feel like at this point you should do monthly drops for scrunchies. Make what you can in a month and post them on your website at the end of the month. I’m sure they will sell out quick but then you won’t have to worry about constantly restocking. Just a thought. Love your videos and your work!

    I wonder if bulk purchased yarn would vacuum seal well? It could REALLY cut down on the amount of space it would take up, and vacuum bags aren’t super expensive. You could vacuum seal the majority of each color, write down what’s in each bag, and then pack those away to pull out over the next few months. (I’m still early in the video, so idk if this will still be relevant by the end? But I’ve used vacuum bags for non yarn stuff before, and they’re great!)

    Interesting that both Michael’s and Joann both have a carousel yarn. I’ve only used the Big Twist carousel, but I need to check out the Loops and Threads! The pink lemonade color way is so cute!!
    I do recommend the Big Twist carousel, though! I’ve knitted up a few hats with a few colors and it’s so much fun to see what color combos are coming next. My first hat was in the color limestone and it was like it didn’t follow any sore of color pattern. It was pretty random, but it turned into such a gorgeous hat! 😊

    You could fit heaps more yarn in your studio there if you put in floor to ceiling storage units! Bulk buying yarn is very sensible for the colours you are using in bulk that you know of. Buying on sale for the sake of it no, not smart, but for the ones you use heaps definitely. You'd go through it in a couple of months!

    Love your vlogs! :) I buy all my yarn wholesale/bulk now, it's so much cheaper! Storage is hard, I live in a small apartment, but vacuum sealed bags are my friend, as are stackable tubs. Cube storage shelves from Ikea or similar are great as well; I've filled walls with them before. If no one has mentioned it before, Ice Yarns (in Turkey, where I get mine) do great wholesale pricing as you're getting it directly from the manufacturer. They don't have the exact brands you use but they have a tonne of similar ones.

    I totally understand on feeling stressed out with yarn covering my desk. Messy desk = messy mind for sure!
    The best investment I made was a little pink three tier roller cart off amazon that I can put next to my desk - it doesn't take up much space, but it's able to hold the yarn for current WIPs, my knitting patterns, scissors, measuring tapes, etc. Might be something that could help for multiple yarn projects :)
