GREAT video. I have owned a BX since 2001 and learned several things. Picking up the pan with the loader is pure genius. Thanks so much. Truly a man that knows what he is doing.

When you change the gear oil in your box, you get a quart of oil cut the bottom of the bottle off stick that under the drain plug works very well. Just thought you’d like to know.

Thanks, nice video. I'm just getting ready to winterize my deck so this will be very handy.

Great maintenance. 👍 If everybody did this, Kubota would only sell one mower deck per life of a tractor!!

Great job an handling that deck :) Bucket hook did its job :)
I got lucky found a 30mm front wheel drive axle nut socket in my toolbox 1st time removing blades. I've since added a short socket 😀Garage floor wise I did a great job catching the gear oil and when done stepped on container and dumped it all 🤣

Love my belly mower on my bx23s! It’s a beast!

torque those blades! that way you wont fight removing next time. good video ,most never clean the underside, thats how decks start to rust.

Thanks so much for this. I wasn’t sure how to go about the gearbox. Answered all my questions. And that’s exactly how I lift my deck as well. Always be carful picking it up. I bent one of those J hooks once. If you ever bend one it’s tough to get it straightened back out and back in alignment.

Going to be doing the gear box oil change, I would like to try and lift the mower deck up with the loader from one side , drain the oil vertically into a cup , hopefully no mess involved

I’m not always the best at keeping up with maintenance. This TH-cam thing helps keep me on it a little better…

What I do when I change my gear oil is I’d take a gallon jug of oil and take the empty jug and make a pan to stick under the lower deck. I also use the same gallon jug when I’m changing oil in the tractors.

Now that you have the deck cleaned up, spray some cosmoline on the bottom. It will reduce grass buildup and prevent future rust.

Is it possible to store the mower deck in a vertical position over the winter (like when you had it picked up with the bucket/chain)?

Good video but I'm not sure about the concave washers going "up" as you demonstrated. My maintenance manual for the RCK60B-23BX clearly shows the two concave or cupped washers going against the blade, followed by the lock washer (kobota term), then the bolt. Other youtube videos seem to bear this out.

Thank you for pointing that out. I may very well have mixed that up or at least not clearly communicated. This is well explained.

I never realized how heavy-duty that belly mower is. When do we get to see how many runs Cameron put in that wing?😂

😂🤣. He’s trying his best to get them sanded out before anyone stops by to see.

    • @PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead

      I don’t. That’s not a bad idea!

I changed my blades for the first time this year in 5 years of use since I've bought the bx!

Really well-detailed project Lucas...nicely done. Question: Do you frequent the location on your shirt? A friend of mine has a house there. 👍😎

    You didn't balance your blades

Working way to hard...just scrap the grass and dirt off...clean out the bearing blade caps..reinstall blades..clean off the top..and grease top serks..check belt...grease pto shaft..and spline....spray brake clean on main box breather vent and grease nipples...serks..prior to grease/wipe first....all done...
Hard part is putting deck back in correctly..

And Kabota 🚜 says that you should only use Kabota 🚜 oil and hydraulic at the Tractors because a lot of the other stuff that’s on the market is not compatible
