    I'm going to try this excellent tip. I have been turning the anti-scalp wheels 90° and putting the pins in at that position. My biggest problem is reattaching the PTO shaft. No room and I have to use my left arm, which is weaker due to foramenal stenosis in my neck. I'm going to try heating up the slip yoke with a heat gun next time and see if it slides easier.

  • @craigguinn5423

    Just tried this. Works great. Once the front wheels are up, you can just easily roll the deck back and forth. That way you don’t need to walk the tractor over the deck. Seems even easier to me.

    Hey, thanks for passing this along. I normally don't have an issue since I rotate the Casters before disconnecting, but I'm getting old and that deck is NOT getting any lighter. I will be giving this a try on my BX1500.
    Next project will be a Vertical rolling stand to keep the deck stored out of the way for winters. A couple of 2"x6" lumber pieces and 2 8" solid Rubber Tire wheels/Casters from Harbor Freight should do the trick.

I did watch the video on the manifold in the O-rings. As a matter fact, I think I’ve watched all your videos. Would make sense to hook up the pto while the tractor is up on the loader. When the tractor is level it kind of kills the room for your arm.

    • @PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead
      @PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is definitely tight doing it on the ground. I don’t do it with it lifted because I don’t really want to be under it with it raised and I’d hate to get anything bound up and bend it while lowering the tractor back down. Realistically, it is probably fine and I’m sure it would be easier. Thanks for the comment!

      Just seeing this, seems like a good idea. I wouldn’t trust the hydraulics though; maybe chock the front 4-6” off the ground and relieve the pressure during the PTO hook up.

  • @billypirtle1443

    That works for some but mine I had to replace pins and bushings in my front end because of the loader being on it all the time mowing. You can turn your deck wheels side ways and she pull right out from under it and back on I keep the loader off of it mowing them front end pins and bushings are not cheap.

    • @PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead

      Tip for no loader - Use a Floor Jack to make it easier.
      Deck up - Turn Deck casters 90 degrees
      Lower Deck and detach front/rear hangers
      Raise rear hangers, Store front hangers
      Reach under and detach Mid-drive shaft
      Raise Front of tractor with floor jack
      Turn the front wheels(back outward) on the side you pull from for added clearance.
      Grab the deck and easily slide it out.
      *I'm 69yrs old, Disabled, 125lbs. and I can pull it and store it Vertical in about 10 minutes.

  • @herbieschwagerl4780
    @herbieschwagerl4780 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Turn the wheels sideways. There is a hole just for that purpose. Then use your foot to push the deck out the side. I do raise the front with the bucket till the wheels are off the ground.

    • @crxess

      That is how I do it! Then I stand it up under my sheds Eve to keep Rain/Snow off of it. Planning on making a 2 wheel dolly to make it easy to Stand Vertical and roll into storage against an inside wall. Will make working on the deck easier too.

    Hello Peek's Peak, after watching this video at 15 times, i went out this afternoon and used this hack to remove my 60 inch mover deck. At first, was reluctant but when I could not get the PTO off the back transfer case, i tried it. A couple of things for the record. Front bracket came off no problems. The back 2 Hangers after little persuasion as the pins did not clear right away, they finally clear. The last issue was the PTO. I could not get it off for whatever reason. So I watch he video again for 2 times and realized that if i did this, The PTO would at least separate on the middle and it did! Next, when lifting the Tractor, i had to make sure I had enough height on the front wheels to get the deck forward. After 2 tries, it worked like a charm! Once the deck was off and I had lot of room to get to the 2 part of the PTO, I noticed once the shaft was straight to the PTO outlet, it slipped off no problems. I then reassembly the PTO and grease it up for next Season. Your tip on setting the Mover deck height to it highest point also work fanatically on keep the Hangers up high even when I lower the 3 point hitch! So, again, i want to thank you for doing these videos as they a great help. Please keep on doing them! In closing, I was sad to hear about the Ducks, no like anyone messing with Livestock especially stray dogs. I hope you better success with your new ducks! Thank you, sincerely yours, Howard from the great white North Eh!!

    Very unique method of how to remove the deck! Use CAUTION though!!!!!
    I'm passing along what I believe might have happened to my deck when the previous owner might have tried to do this method. I believe they tried this and had the machine slip and land on the deck, or possibly when lowering the hydraulic arms, maybe somehow that ended up bending part of the mower deck. The result of this ended up with a part of the mower deck bending and then prematurely cutting the rubber belt. It could also have happened if when they stored the deck in the winter, they put something heavy on it. I'm leaning toward the idea they dropped the BX on the deck. The weight would be more concentrated on the part. It also may be possible to bend the part if you flipped the deck over to change the blades. But then again, I don't believe the deck is heavy enough to bend the part. Unless they dropped the deck from a good height, and it hit perfectly on the bent part. I'll attach a video showing my dilemma. Sorry about the miss used words in the video. I was tired and rushed to make the video. No editing.

    I got a question I got a BX 2360 and I’m having problems with the oil leak. I believe it’s coming from a Line because it’s a very slow drip but I cannot find a strip and Kabota 🚜 wants $900 to fix it so you know that’s not happening And now they said that it may be the power steering pump itself up under the battery case I am not got a chance to look at it yet due to the weather but I plan on doing it this Sunday. Do you have any tips or any knowledge of any leaks on your tractor? If so, could you get back to me please and let me know. Thank you for your time.

      Well, I had the issue with the quick disconnect hydraulic coupler and that was fixed under warranty. I had one of my rear backhoe connections leak and I fixed it just tightening the couplers. My dealer also told me there was a small leak on top of the HST that was a bad O-Ring on something that they found when they removed the floor pan. That was a simple fix as well, it just took removing the floor pan to find it.

    Why don't you just turn the casters on the deck 90 degrees and roll it out sideways? Save your garage floor, the cutting edge on the bucket, and don't risk coming down on the deck with the tractor and breaking the caster mounts off.

    My double locking castle nuts on the throttle lever keep on loosening themselves,droping the rpm of the motor at the most inconvenient times. Do you have a "cure" to keeping the lock nuts tight?

    • @PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead
      @PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I definitely had an issue with throttle lever, but mine was adjusted too tight and I broke the lever. When replacing, I just made sure that I jammed the two nuts tightly together. So tighten the first one to get the tension right on the lever, then hold it with a wrench and tighten the next jam nut down really tight. If that isn’t enough, I would put some loctite on the threads. Good luck.

    Absolutely worked perfect 1st time trying. A side note is that my tractor is brand new and factory paint did pose some added difficulty. The latch pin on the front swing arm had to be hammered out. The swing arm itself had to be hammered out as well. The gusset plates fit very tight against the frame. the same issues in reverse. A bit of time with a dremel and a sanding drum will probably fix this or just time itself and it will wear in. Great tip though. Thanks.

    The mower deck wheels turn 90 degree on my deck. If you do have a loader, I wouldn't suggest doing it this way. Too much of a chance if you are new or just buying a tractor for first time to do damage to the mower deck. If you do have a loader, I suggest you turn your mower deck wheels 90 degree and slightly lift up your front end with loader and just pull out the mower deck to the side. If you don't have a loader, this isn't any good. LOL
    I also found an easier way to hook up my tiller too. I pull out the PTO shaft and attach it to the tractor first. I made 2 very small drill marks with a bit on the PTO shafts to make matching them back easy. I'm down to about a minute attaching my tiller now! I also have my tiller sitting on 2 furniture dollies too to help sliding it toward the tractor too before hooking it up with quick hitch.

    How do you connect the PTO shaft so easily? I have little to no strength to pull back the collar and slide the shaft on the tractor PTO. (My collar does not lock in the 'open' position. Not sure if it's supposed to.)

    • @PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead
      @PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead  ปีที่แล้ว

      The collar doesn’t lock open and sometimes it is harder than others for me to get on. When mine was new I had to tap with a hammer to get it on and off. It seems to have gotten easier as it gets a few more hours on it.
