Now that’s amusing . “I need to work these two horses,” you say. Yes, it needs to be done no matter which team works, but the team working hardest is Jim and Brenda. 😅
The shot of Lady and Ken from behind really emphasizes the difference in their sizes. Lady looks huge until beside Ken who is really huge. There is nothing as satisfying as watching an experienced teamsters handle horses that he has trained. That head gate is a testament to the ingenuity of a long time farmer using what comes from his land. And, as always, thank you, Brenda, for the excellent videos.
I do believe Lady likes getting back to work once she got into the groove. She really is an amazing mare. Greet logging, does field work, raises OUTSTANDING offspring, and is an attentive mother for not foaling until her later years. Handled that backing up like she did it yesterday. Great Video!!!
Brenda you are such a good assistant and videographer. You all work so well together. Jim is lucky to have you to film. Keep up the good work. God Bless. 😊❤😊❤😊❤😊❤
Great to see Lady and Ken featured in the spotlight today and always appreciate super cute guest star appearances by the filly sisters! And I love my calendar that just arrived! Thank you, as always, for sharing your beautiful always interesting never a dull moment world with us! 🐴
Your videos should almost be called " Horses Working With Jim and Brenda". It's obvious you both love what you have chosen for your lives. I never realized just how much work it takes and patience you must have to work with these gentle giants.
Id been wandering how your gutter system was working out in the barn yard this yr '24..! Soo glad to hear it's working as hoped. Ken even see Kens dappled, despite his dusty look. 😂 Glad to know why some are dusty after grooming, yet others are slick , n shiny. Glad you made a head shoot for them! Looks great Every bit of improvement helps. Miss Brenda thank you for being your Jims right hand man! Your-da-best !. 😅 ❤ a stupid little chore is great for your horses sm. Work out..! "Back to the barn trot" hahaha (how true.) 😂. My spirit is content each timeyou let the film roll a bit AFTER you've said good bye. TY God bless yall ❤❤❤❤❤❤Debbie
It would be oh so good , if Jim would speak to all those horses more friendly ❤ after all they do so much for him.especially when hitching them up, for the days work. 👍🎉😊
PG here, What a very filled full video. It was very exciting watching Ken and Lady work together! Then, Brenda reading the text from Jim: The Two Red Horses When He Comes, was hilarious at the end! My dad sang that song in car drives when I was growing up in the 60's. With a car full of 5 kids and 2 adults, in an old station wagon or a Buick. I did want to come over and clean up the tack and gear. I remember when you got all the horses the beautiful harnesses and even had William clean them once. The horses will clean up and shape up. We have had a 4 month drought. Which is unheard of in Ohio. Our cars have been all covered with dust every day. Original for young people: “She'll be driving six white horses when she comes” are from the spiritual “She'll Be Coming 'Round the Mountain”. The song is thought to be a coded anthem for the Underground Railroad and may refer to the Second Coming of Christ. The “she” in the song refers to the chariot that Christ is said to drive when he returns.
Jim Pinkerton had a headgate setup similar to thin on an alle way, The old timers Bult the Hally way with low overhead hanging Planks. I discovered them frequently with my Head, bit alas it didn't knock much cines into me, I still enjoy working with Cows and Horses.
Lady must be pretty good. Her memory didn’t go away while she was gone taking care of her June. When you told her to G and ha she G and ha. My grandkids can forget from one week to the next. Guest can say horses have better memories and grandchildren lol Please do as much as you did last time with the hunters. It was very enjoyable.
That head gate and chute you're building will be nice and helpful with the cattle. My grandpa had a chute for his beef cattle that was very similar except he didn't have a head gate, it was an old iron stanchion. From what I remember was way harder to manage latching it down than that head gate you're using. Especially when he had to bring in one of the bulls or the bigger steers and had to put extra restraints on them just to hold them. Pretty dicey stuff. Nice to see Ken and Lady out and about!
What a sweet video!!!!! I loved listening to Jim explain things about horses, etc. And I loved watching you and Brenda load wood together. My watched my parents do that together too. Anyway, such a sweet - peaceful video. And thanl you Brenda for not stopping the video after Jim took the horses bridles off. I got to watch them drink ( which I really love) and then you showed us how Lady and June connected after she was put out to pasture. So precious. I haven't gotten to see much about how mares & their foals go through weaning. June is so darm cute & getting so big. Loved the whole video.......Especially "coming around the corner with two red horses"""""...we sang that song all the time when I was a kid. Thank you for such a peaceful video in this trying time. I watched the video twice....
Nice cattle crush! It should make health care for the cows much easier. Enjoyed watching your senior horses, Skippy the Loggin' Dog, and the two beautiful fillies.
Ladys' attitude was a pleasant surprise after her irritation in the barn. Good girl, Lady! Faithful Brenda, you had to be surprised at the dust in Lady's coat after brushing her twice. You didn't know you'd have to become an archeologist!!!
awww thank you..loved every bit of this. starting in the barn and all the action..we all love that work, chatter, and fixing up. so glad you eaised lady gal into it..she hasn't used those muscles ,,but you know her and ken look so graceful backing up and doing the steps like a dance..I love these older ones, they are so seasoned, polished, and pals together. love it when the congrats each other after each obedience to Jim. it's cute. another season..😅
Jim and Brenda , a fun video today,. A good plan with the partition between Bree and June. It was great to see Ken and Lady hauling fire wood. They both workec wonderful after being off the job for about 10 months.
"Why not use the horses?" Indeed. The pace of life is slower, the cost is merely time, the work is loading and unloading, whatever the job. The joy is resting while driving the cart, and the conversation that travels up and down the reins, doing what Jim loves best, driving his horses. Looking forward to the hunting trip, Baron should keep his wits about him this year. Greetings from Australia.
I loved today's video Brenda and Jim! Even your everyday chores are interesting and a real teaching moment for the viewers. Lady knew when she was in harness she had to refocus her attention from her baby. That was cute when she went over to touch noses with June when she got back from work❣️
I love seeing Lady and Bil together 😜 they did a awesome job. I'll let you know about the calendar s as ordered two anyway I love them anyway 😀. From Ontario Canada 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
I am in Colorado where it is dusty. I started using my shop vacuum blowing to clean my horses when they are dusty. It’s amazing how much cleaner they are compared to just brushing. Also after heavy work I use a very light pressure washer to get the salt off. They really like both tools after the initial period of getting used to it.
HI JIM & BRENDA........Wow, Ken & Lady back to work after a nice vacation........Lady's gripe is two-fold: .vacation & the June weaning process......AND Ken, just on well deserved vacation!! I liked & agreed with Keith Jacobson's comment on grooming his horses with the vaccuum! It Really works FANTASTIC because it pulls ALL the dust & dander from their skin up thru the winter coats!! I used it on a really "Spooky" horse, went slow at first (the noise of the vac-but was no problem?!) and he really LOVED IT! ! His coat was shiny all year long.....you would have to bring the horses up to where Jim clips their manes for both space & electricity........Anyway, my two-cent's worth! God bless.....😊❤😮❤😊
Good to see Lady and Ken working again..Looks like a BEAUTIFUL DAY IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD today..I see by your breath it must be chilly. I have my Air Cond. on down here in South Alabama..lov and peace to everyone.
Enjoy your videos reminds me of my grandpas horses he used to snake logs out of the woods for his sawmill and i used them a few times to cultivate the garden down here in North Carolina, gonna order a calendar hope yall have a good weekend👍👍
I have a Question.. Would you consider on getting any more Perchons horses again ? I just love Ken I think he is the pettiless in the barn. I like Lady too but I have always loved Ken and Buck, I really miss Buck.
From Watson on here you're all your horses look really like they're just having a good time most of the time you guys look after them really well so that's good
Love seeing TALL Ken working with Lady! 😊 And he always blesses us with farts, right when you're trying to say something. 😂😂 All of your leaves are down already... ours are just starting to fall.
JIM should run for President of the United States by the way of his patients with his team of horses which are beautiful and I could not imagine a day quite like your guys Thanks for the video
Consider putting 2 gates on each side of your cattle chute instead of just fixed sides. Also I would want it to have it's own roof with points that can be used for hoisting if needed. Might as well have side rails to stand up on to make accessing the top of the animal easy. Good luck with it.
You have so many good teams it must be hard to pick which team to do which job. June baby to steady Kenny and everything in between. Livin and lovin life. Have a blessed day.
I love my calendar! Did you notice on one of the loads that they G'd and backed without you even saying a word? Impressive, I caught it aat around 38:39ish minutes.
Hey Jim, I've noticed since following your channel (nearly two years) that the individual stalls seem to be short with the horses back legs standing in the aisle which appears to be a step down. Is this done on purpose, or is it because of space limitations within the barn ? BTW, I really enjoy your channel and compliment Brenda on her great camera work and grooming skills !! 😊
Got my calendar today. Impressed! Also, I think the pics are excellent. Watching today I couldn't help but think about sometime ago you showed a pic of the sire of Lady's next colt. In the picture the dad looked like a brute! I know Jim is worried about getting too many horses, but can't help wondering if you bred the same stallion to Lady one more time what a heck of a pulling team you might have in 5 or 6 years. Just wondering if you guys had considered that. Might be fun to have great pulling team for your "semi-retirement years."

Love the new calendar, since you asked, I do prefer the glossy. But if it saves you $ I’m okay with it. Waiting to hang it.
You need a dry well system to dry up your barn yard.
Now that’s amusing . “I need to work these two horses,” you say. Yes, it needs to be done no matter which team works, but the team working hardest is Jim and Brenda. 😅

Hello how are you doing today
I don’t have horses but since watching this channel I find myself G-ing and hawing and bac-bac-bac-backing my tractor.
😆
A hilarious comment
😂
Try doing that to your wife when she's driving!
Mine loves it 😂
😂
I do believe Lady likes getting back to work once she got into the groove. She really is an amazing mare. Greet logging, does field work, raises OUTSTANDING offspring, and is an attentive mother for not foaling until her later years. Handled that backing up like she did it yesterday. Great Video!!!
Lady is the best darn horse in Jim's barn. Love Ken, loved Buck (miss you so much, buddy). Love all the rest of the boys, but Lady is beyond special.
ken is such a gentle giant
Ken is absolutely gorgeous/great representative of his breed😍
Ken is my favourite in Jim's stable. Perhaps because he is, like me, old, slow, but dependable. We also fart a lot. My love to you all from France.
😂😂😂
HaHaHaHaHaHa😂
J adore ken aussi ceci dit ils sont tous beaux .
The boy Lady carries will be beautiful.
Ken and Lady's foot work synchronization is very impressive. They are spot on. Very accurate. They work well together. ♥
Yes they are both extremely experienced horses ❤
Brenda you are such a good assistant and videographer. You all work so well together. Jim is lucky to have you to film. Keep up the good work. God Bless. 😊❤😊❤😊❤😊❤

yah us too...
We have a small river here in Northern Michigan. It is the Minihaha. It matches your joke Jim. I loved your video, nice to see Lady back to work
It would be oh so good , if Jim would speak to all those horses more friendly ❤ after all they do so much for him.especially when hitching them up, for the days work. 👍🎉😊
Hello how are you doing today
Jim, that was funny watching Lady trying to avoid you. And grumping when you were putting her harness on 😂
Lady does have an attitude sometimes!
@@sueboettcheryes that's our Lady 😊❤
So good to see Ken . He seems to keep whomever he's teamed with very relaxed and calm . ❤
Ken has been a great "mentor" to the young team members. 😊
Good evening Jim and Brenda,l must say ALL of the horses are looking FANTASTIC each and every one of them. All the very best dear friends ❤
Your videos are some of the most interesting and relaxing. Thak you for the effort you put into them.
Thank you for today's treats... Musical Ken! Then Lady and Ken backing the cart as if they were in a three-legged race (and perfectly synchronised)!

The spiral back is really nice. Lays flat to the wall much better.
Love Lady and Ken !
Jim, Ken and Lady deserve a well-earned Olympic-class gold medal for precisely backing into the woodshed!
I agree that trailer has a short tongue and will jackknife easily
Impressive how lady and Ken walked exactly where they needed
"You may ask why I have two horses".At 32:01..."I don't care". A pretty blunt response, don't you think Jim?
Boy my back would be hurting after 2 loads of firewood !!! I can see Jim and Brenda doing that in 20 yrs from now🤔👍❤️ w
I LOVE watching you take the guys with the canoes down to the lake!
Do you still miss Buck? It’s good to see Lady work again, she’s my favorite logging horse!😊
You sure have some very nice HORSE POWER
Lady must be pretty good. Her memory didn’t go away while she was gone taking care of her June. When you told her to G and ha she G and ha. My grandkids can forget from one week to the next. Guest can say horses have better memories and grandchildren lol

Bree is so grown up!!😮
Nice cattle crush! It should make health care for the cows much easier. Enjoyed watching your senior horses, Skippy the Loggin' Dog, and the two beautiful fillies.
Got my calendar Thursday!
Great looking pictures!
Ladys' attitude was a pleasant surprise after her irritation in the barn. Good girl, Lady!

We LOVE our calendars and so does our daughter and son in law 😊 we also love all our T-shirts and hats.
Jim and Brenda , a fun video today,. A good plan with the partition between Bree and June. It was great to see Ken and Lady hauling fire wood. They both workec wonderful after being off the job for about 10 months.
Ken is such a gentle giant and deserves retirement! In my humble opinion he is perfect. The rest of the herd is great too but Ken is the best.
It's so nice to see Lady out working again. ❤❤❤
HI there lady and ken are looking good.thanku both for sharing.❤😊
Your skill with backing ... handling and understanding of working horses is so very good... appreciate you sills and knowledge...and your sharing
Thank you Jim and Brenda. June has grown so fast. Mongols lived on horse milk. They should be much bigger people😂😂😂.❤

Greetings from Australia.
I just love Ms Brenda's commentary
How blessed you are Jim to have such wonderful help, Have a wonderful day Jim and Brinda and thanks for staring old the Memories
How nice it is that you folks have these beautiful draft horses that also do useful work.
I loved today's video Brenda and Jim! Even your everyday chores are interesting and a real teaching moment for the viewers. Lady knew when she was in harness she had to refocus her attention from her baby. That was cute when she went over to touch noses with June when she got back from work❣️

I love watching lady and Bill . They are grumpy seniors like me❤❤😂😂.
In this video Lady and Ken were hitched up together.
There is a channel with standardbred horses and they always use vacuums on their horses. The horses don’t seem to mind at all.
We were watching your video today like always and we enjoyed every minutes of it,thanks Jim and Brenda for everything, hugs to everyone in the barn.
The horses did good 😊.
Good to see the pros back to work❤
The fillies . are so pretty. Lady is just missing her baby 😮 not being bad. Great video.😊😊
Bree and June have beautiful markings
are you thinking of seeding the barnyard? There isn't much fodder there now.
Hello how are you doing today
Oat engines are sometimes making noise 😂. I love Lady and Ken. 🥰
Very nice calendar, I am going to enjoy using it next year.
I just ordered a new one. I really enjoyed the one I got last year.
Despite some minor glitches, Ken and Lady stand very well and their backing up is excellent. Have a great week end.
Thank you Brenda & Jim - great video ! Lady sure was talkative on this day. I’m waiting for Jim , there he is riding two red horses 😄 👍👍
I love Ken because is the odd man out now. 😊
Hello Lady, it been a while, how are you? Good to see you.❤

Really, where did you see them?
@@WorkingHorsesWithJim Ben Burgess
Yes... I love the spiral calendar ...it hangs so much better, and the pictures are beautiful

I was heartbroken when Buck died.
Another chore done. You make it look so easy and calm!
"Why not use the horses?" LOVE THIS. ❤
39:25 Such a beautiful image! (at left and down)
From Watson on here you're all your horses look really like they're just having a good time most of the time you guys look after them really well so that's good

good job - photographer
Hey Jim, I've noticed since following your channel (nearly two years) that the individual stalls seem to be short with the horses back legs standing in the aisle which appears to be a step down. Is this done on purpose, or is it because of space limitations within the barn ?
BTW, I really enjoy your channel and compliment Brenda on her great camera work and grooming skills !! 😊
There is room for them to stand completely in their stall if they wish and be level but sometimes they just like to back up
Lol, I had forgotten that old tune Miss Brenda. Thanks for taking us along for the day.
Yes love the calendar changes.
Yes, I like both changes, but really like the spiral. 😊
Great team work great job you four I don't know how you all have so much energy just super thanks.
Those 2 girls remind me of Baron standing there
Hello how are you doing today
hi...the new 2025 pictures are the best.....good job FB
Job done 😊
