    Attention: Scammers are stealing my profile pic and replying to comments in an attempt to get you to pay for shipping on fake giveaway prizes. It is not real. Please don’t call or text the number and do not send them any money. I have blocked numerous accounts but they keep popping up. Hopefully TH-cam will get it under control soon.

    I love carp fishing. Went out with my wife and brother yesterday and we couldn't keep a rod in the water like you. We were just nailing them one after the other. No biggies, nothing over 7 or 8 pounds. But they were having a blast and I was sweating bullets frantically baiting hair rigs, dropping them, netting fish, recasting them, trying to bait another rod, another one goes off. It's a hoot of a time fishing.

    Yeah, baiting out the hole can be absolutely fun. Every time I go to visit my Dad, he starts baiting the area 3 days before we arrive. My son probably has this unrealistic expectation that every time he casts, he's going to get a good fight. But, it's got him hooked, and that's the start of the next generation of fisherman. Get 'em excited now and they'll get the next generation just as excited.
    Justin, thanks for the effort you put in for this video. The catfish spawn turns into some slow days, and you're showing you can still have a lot of fun. You're good people Bud.

    Hello Justin
    Thanks for giving the carp a better reputation!
    I'm still preferring monofilament over spider - wire!
    Buffalos are very line shy; nothing over 6 lbs test line will work!
    10 lbs test line will already turn them off!
    Dowbait is good:
    2 pound of oatmeal
    4 Tablespoons of Cottonseed Meal
    1 Tablespoon artificial vanille
    Water as necessery to form a plyable doe.
    Free - Lining is preferrable (just line and hook)
    One rod fishing is the key!
    Watch where the line enters the water for strike detection
    and run your line over Your index finger for strike detection!
    I fished at 'Possum Kingdom State Park - Texas' at the dock with my kids
    before a tornado ripped it all apart!
    Buffalos are getting pretty big and with 6 lbs quality test line it takes some skill to handle them!
    Good Luck!

    @weerezboy28 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Justin I'm glad to see you have caught a little bit of carp fever. They sure are fun to catch on rod and reel. Now if you want to get some larger fish you can try using a quality made boilie as your hookbait. The big carp will selectively feed on them once you introduce them to a water for usually about 24-36 hours. The amino acids in a quality boilie will draw those big carp in who smell the nutrients they are craving. I'd keep fishing a few rigs with fake corn and tomato, mulberries if you can find some. Then fish boilies on a rod or two also.

    I used to fish for carp a lot and I used a pack bait that had hog shorts, wheat germ, molassis and I think flour. I used two hooks with a white or yellow plastic bead on each hook and I would pack the hooks inside the ball of bait. usually worked pretty well.

    ABSOLUTELY AWSOME BONUS FISH JUSTIN

  • @papabearoutdoors2393
    @papabearoutdoors2393 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Justin, you need to look into the bait runner style reels. They have a dual drag system. One drag is a bait running drag that lets your reel freespool under adjustable tension.There's a lever at the back of the reel that toggles between both drags. The other drag is your regular fighting drag. There's no constant monkeying with your drag while fighting a fish. When the fish makes its initial run, simply flip the lever or turn the reel handle and you're off to the races.

    • @KayakCatfish
      @KayakCatfish  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I actually tried a Shimano bait runner with the dual drag recently but thought it was a little too big and clunky for me. I need to look at some other models.

    • @papabearoutdoors2393
      @papabearoutdoors2393 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, unfortunately, most baitrunners come in the 5000 size, but i have found a model in the 4000 series. I would love to see a 3000 series size come out.

    I was driving when I watched now back to comment. Baiting sure looks like it worked on cat and carp. But the cherry tomato is what surprised me.

      I thought the tomatoes would catch carp or buffalo but I have been surprised at how many cats I’m catching with them.

    Biggest Buffalo I ever caught came from a crawdad tail. But the guy next to me caught one just a little bigger on ivory soap a few minutes later, it was the only bite he had all night but it worked.
