Wes, not that it would be of any importance, but I remember James May (Captain Slow) wearing one almost identical Seiko 5 while doing one of Top Gear's specials (in Africa I think). People of all budgets recognize that the Seiko 5 range of old is a staple in watch appreciation. I love them, with all their quirks and warts. Enjoy and keep up the great content. Many thanks
SNX or SNK options all very good options for first automatics at a decent price. This one is gorgeous, well proportioned so a person really can’t go wrong with it, very nice
I have this one and really enjoy it. Changed the bracelet after a tip from Dave at Just The Watch, in which you could keep the endlinks. The SNXS79 (the one Dave reviewed) with the dark grey dial is a stunner as well. Damn, I really wish Seiko would keep these older 5 models with just upgraded movements. Great video as usual, Wes.
Ive got 4 in my collection, they wear so well and understated. Great finishing, slick dial and hands. Only thing.......day/date cut out! I recently modded one for a subscriber, just date wheel but with nh35 upgrade. So much better
Marc from Long Island Watch did a great guide to dating your Seiko, to narrow down the date of your watch your 7S26 will be an a, b or c version all made from different dates. A's are earlier c's are later. Date guides are available online.
There's an understated sophistication about Seiko 5's - they're a relatively inexpensive, classy not shouty-flashy, dress up or dress down watch that can be worn anywhere. I'm sure most collectors will own at least one.
I can understand the appeal of the 5 series... I just hate that its so expensive over here. Here they are on par (price wise ) to mid tier Citizens and Bulova's and I would rather have those. Thanks for sharing bud!
Yep got one in blue. Get an aftermarket bracelet, winning!
Nice mate, which bracelet did you get, been looking one for one but not sure which will fit. Cheers

That's cool, I'll have to rewatch and see if I can spot which one it is. And you're right, they're an icon in their own right. Thanks
Welcome back mate. Live the non Ali content too!!
Cheers mate and ikr, the Ali stuff will be coming soon though.

100% mate, either you choose is a great place to start. Thanks for watching
Totally agree mate, come to think of it, any of these older Seiko 5's is a great entry to an automatic watch.
100%, there's so many to choose from you're bound to get one that suits what you need. Cheers
Finally!! The first “like” is mine!
This watch has such a classic vintage look, I really like it.
Nice one mate, and it is such a beaut. Thanks very much for watching

That would be amazing, I'd have loads if they offered them with the 4R movement. Thanks
@@WesWatchRoom Some old school Seiko5 can run 4R, but some with hidden crown design like in this video will be too hard to hand wind I think 🤣

100% mate, they're awesome. Honestly wish Seiko would start making some new releases like this. Thanks for watching
The grey and silver versions are both stunning pieces. I do not know why these two colorways has such a charm that never gets outdated. True classics!
100% mate they're timeless. I'm currently looking for a bracelet upgrade for mine to wear at work. Thanks

Thanks for the info! I'll take a look at that, would be interested to see exactly when mine was made. Appreciate you watching

There's so many great Seiko 5's. Definitely perfect starter watches. Thanks Wes.
Indeed mate, so many to choose from you could have an entire collection and never have two exactly the same. Cheers

That's a shame, wonder why they're so expensive there? Appreciate you watching mate
@@WesWatchRoom No idea haha!
Handsome watch. Looks like a great gentlemans watch. Ive been looking for the ideal office/officer watch and this is in line with what I'm looking for
It would look great in an office setting for sure, especially the dark grey dial or even this one for a bit more flash. Cheers
You can’t go wrong with a Seiko
100% mate, you really can't.
Awesome work mate, definitely everyone should experience a Seiko in their collection
Couldn't agree more! Thank you mate and hope all is well.
The longer I wear this watch the more I love it :)
Absolutely agree there. Thanks
Hi, your spot on with this watch. Also great review. Kind regards James.
Thank you mate, really appreciate that.
Solid pick I like it
Thanks mate, much appreciated
I can't believe i don't have a Seiko in my collection yet. At those prices, they are a no brainer.
That should change mate, especially one of these seiko 5
Thanks
a link to that band?
It was from cheapest nato straps. Not sure if they still stock it though.
I have one seiko
Awesome, which do you have? Thanks for watching
Great review but with all due respect you might be completely wrong about Chinese watch brands.
Thanks and in what way?
Skip straight to 500, don't waste money on step 1.
Not sure I follow there mate
