The permanent red light could have originated by previous emission malfunction ?. What other reason could I miss this Permanent Red Light
Work truck started eith the lights to need a regen and no body knew what it meant. Simple TH-cam video and it saved them a trip to the shop. Score!

I cleaned off my battery posts then after I reconnected them, the chk eng symbol with the wrench appeared. Comes on but goes off here and there. Just curious if there is a reset

Very usefull video. I had the amber light 3 month ago and went to the dealer they said it was the oil pressure sensor. Now the light came back on with check engine light. I Use a private mechanich to do the maintenance but the light continue the same. How can i get the light off?

I'm driving a 2016 international school bus with a Cummins engine. Before the high exhaust system temperature light comes on, there's a very potent smell that comes from the engine and eventually the hest light will come on. It's there an easy way to get this to clear or do I have to shift it a lower gear and super Rev the engine? And where is that sensor?
Unfortunately there's always going to be a smell when the engine performs a regen. I haven't really worked on buses but depending on the location of the DOC it'll likely have road grime on it from driving around. Once it gets hot that's your smell.
Could the truck be on while it has the red stop engine light on or should the truck be off as soon as possible?
Red stop light is usually on for a reason. Better shut it down ASAP and get it looked at.

You have a problem, you need to take it to the shop and hook the computer up.
Both of my engine lights going down the HWY came on. I stop at a shop so they could check what was going on. They said I have an exhaust leak. They also said it will stop my truck from doing a Region is this true?
Depends on where the leak is in the system.
Not mentioned in the video ... My DEF and check engine light came on even though the DEF tank was 3/4 full .. Took it in for service to discover that the DEF was contaminated ... The engine derated slightly but was able to drive my truck over 300 miles to the shop back home ...
How did it get contaminated? Did you fill it at a truck stop or something?
Brand new 2019 kw t880 cummins cx15 malfunction.light on truck had less than 10k miles. Any ideas?

I got a check engine light on stoped to take a look and it was a crankcase pressure .. so went to the shop the said I’m getting oil in my crankcase filter and there recommending for me to do a inframe .. can I keep replacing the filter and keep adding oil and driving like this ??? Please advise thanks
I guess you could do anything, but without looking at it myself I can't really make a recommendation. It's definitely not a good sign to have excessive crank pressure. I would be worried about messing up the emissions system and other things. Why don't you get a 2nd opinion from another shop?

Well if there's a warning on your dash I would say it's for a reason. It could be any number of things. The rad could be plugged. Thermostat could be stuck closed. Those are the first things I'd be checking.

What if they did a force regen and everything was okay but it start tell you to regen again after a day went by what than
Something's not letting it complete the entire cycle. Need to hook up the computer and do some troubleshooting. If you keep going you risk filling your dpf and plugging it. In other words it'll be a lot more expensive if you wait.
2015 international prostar i have more than half def in my tank and still show def signal .Any idea.

My 2014 prostar same.def is full but shows low def sign,yellow triangle 🔺️ sign and check engine.
Ive searched hi and low and must have the only truck that does this. Malfunction lite on seek service immediately. Next day just says seek service couple more days goes off completely and runs fine the whole time. Now its doing it again please help
Would have to look at the truck to be able to tell. Need to hook up the computer to see what fault code it is logging. Anything else would just be a guess
Could also be your duty cycle. If it doesn't see the exhaust temp that it needs for an extended period the light will come on and then when you get out on the highway it's able to do an active regen.

How often the truck need to Regen?
All depends on what you're doing. Lots of highway miles at a constant load, not very often. Lots of stop and go traffic and you'll have to regen more. Also depends on the load and ambient temperature and humidity etc. Lots of variables.

Did you try doing a manual regen?

Ya, sorry you'll need to have the computer hooked up to see what the code is. Depending on the problem it may go into a de-rate. You'll be stuck calling a tow truck. Better go take it to the shop.
The HD Perspective I will tomorrow. For now i hope let me stay here till unload tomorrow morning with out problem then the shop is 30 min from here.

I have two lights coming on. One light is the engine light with the key in it. The other says the ABS light for trailer that comes on and off whenever. They will go off, then they will reappear. I have taken it to the shop twice and they tell me that both lights are inactive. Do you know why it continues to come on? Do I have a shortage or is there something else going on? 🤔

Check engine light coming on in my 99 Cummins 2500. I shut off truck then turn back on and it’s off.

why my heist lamp always comes on just before i comes to a stop but my regen lamp never ever comes on and then a few HRS.later my check engine lights comes on and my stop engine,then i always have to take it in for a force regen and no one can solve this problem, i am driving acummins freightliner m2 2012

Ya that's normal, the ecm is doing it's self test every time you start the engine

What id your regen button does not work or the idle button does not work what do you do than
What kind of truck? If it's a Kenworth the clutch linkage is probably seizing up and not letting the clutch pedal fully return.

Ya those lights are there for a reason, better to get it fixed right away. Less expensive that way.
My 2015 Cummins powered prostar is full of DEF,but all the lights on. I'm parked and gonna call a shop .this is so damn annoying.

Ya that wiring harness is in a bad spot bring exposed to the heat all the time.
