Is the overflow cap on the side of your coolant tank opened slightly so the coolant can expand to the overflow tank? I opened the overflow tank cap and I stopped losing so much coolant and my mechanic also changed the fan solenoid switch. The solenoid tells the radiator fan when to come on (at 225degrees). And also dd15 owners say that it it is a known fact that these engines drink alot of coolant. You might be overheating alot because of these 2 things. It solved my problem on my 2012 cascadia. Oh replaced egr cooler as well😡 that was $3500! But I'm good now.
For your loss in coolant check the EGR Cooler, it is pretty common for those to go out with a small crack making it leak into your exhaust and burning it away, other things to also look into is a crack in your Cylinder head, Blown Gasket, bad injector cups and your air compressor.
Nomad Chad the “correct” answer would be to perform a pressure test on the EGR Cooler to make sure that it is the part that is leaking.... but you can also take the U joint pipe at the end of the EGR Cooler off and inspect in there it should look dry and full of soot, if there is any moisture and it smells like coolant than it is a very very high possibility(99%) it is the EGR Cooler.
What the parts too, I had kw sell me a egr sensor and they gave me a fuel pressure sensor, as far as the coolant smell the exhaust and see if it's going into the egr cooler or possible headgasket
When both lights come on is never the oil, normally is cooling loss or the sensor... now if you loosing cooling it could be EGR or need a engine rebuild, some call it overhaul
Shit bro you can always trade it in for a new thing with warranty and keep the party going. I know the feeling. Always check that dip stick don't over fill that oil you can blow your gaskets.
this guy could said that in less than 20 second,..........but you had to tell your life story. some individuals just want to here themselves speak.
Lol right
So what moron , he’s just trying to help

You’re 100% correct on all this and I have heard it before. So where would you start first?

those damn mechanics are trying to sabotage your truck man

Loosing cooling or loosing coolant? Just want to make sure..
Check egr cooler it could have small cracks in it where it connects to the engine Jubitz is a place I have had good experiences with
Check EGR cooler.
If you have an Apu then it might be coming out of one of those lines

Yea bro I just got same problem 😩
It could be going to your engine
Which is bad
Could cost you your engine
And how exactly would that happen? What could I do to correct the problem?
@@NomadChad dpf delete it man I got a guy
Jerrad Barclift lol that could be the cause of some of my issues. I’m already ahead of ya man.
@@NomadChad my guess is turbo then if you didn't switch it yet
I had the same problem 06 Columbia 12.7 Changed the turbo and did a egr delete and by passed the temperature sensor.
I have the same issue
I changed the coolant jug and it fix the problem
