I own the ArgonOne with SATA SSD for my Raspi4 build. It is a most stylish and functional Raspi case. You did a great, well-paced first-look at the V3 for Pi5, which I am eager to get my hands on. Thank You for this!
Hello , good explanation !!!, could you provide me with the details and the link were you bought the KIONIA 1TB as you used in the video, to avoid frustration on my side with non compatible firmware and prevent that's not usable for Raspberry / Argon case .. many thanks in advance
So you can't use the official active cooler from raspberry pi with this and you install the thermal tape right over the stickers of the NVME or do you peel them off?
Hi today I received it too. I had my eeprom settings done before with an external usb NVMe reader. Also the boot order was set to NVMe in eeprom. But the device doesn't detect my Kingston 2TB NVMe. How is your experience so far?
Thank you. I figured out the problem. 1. The case has to be closed and screwed. There are 2 pins in the case that need to be touching the other boards surface. Otherwise Argon won't send power to the M2 drive. 2. In my case, I had to add dtparam=pciex1_gen=3 line in /boot/firmware/config.txt on the SSD too. (But whoever boots up their RP5 with SD card and copy the OS to M2 drive won't need this) 3. I tried first Kingston 2TB KC3000. If I don't push and screw it, it works fine, but when I push it down and screw in the case, it doesn't work. I think the pins don't touch well the slots. But when I tried 1TB 970 Plus, it didn't have chips on the both side and it sit easily both in the slots and I could still run it while screwed. I think 2 TB drives are beefy due to the chips on the both sides and it makes it difficult to sit in the slot and touch the metals. I hope I don't get trouble with the 2TB 980 Pro that I just ordered. @@MicroChipz
Hi , i thought this might be it , on mine i seen those pins and closed the case before trying , i did look at the boot config and that line was already there , yeh maybe the 2tb is a bit thicker , these are new cases so im sure these things will come to light.
Argon ONE V3 M.2 NVME PCIE for Pi 5 is about 70€ here - so more or less the same like SBC itself. Far too expensive cause for 140€ in total without keyboard and whatnot I get a quite good used one just 3 years old or even a used Lenovo Notebook incl. display and keyboard. Argon is the opposite evolution of what a SBC was meant to be 35 € for students and what not, but now it all has doubled. Bad and sad move - in the long run.
I got mine today, but it’s not powering on, no matter what switches I use or pressing the power button. Pi is starting when powering directly. I’m using the 27 watt power supply
Great case but unfortunately it does not work with the official raspberry pi 5 27 watt power supply and keeps giving power warnings with other lower wattage power supplies. I have installed both the resommended scripts
Got mine, tried for days, 3 different NVME drives NONE detected, did all the updates, changess, updated firmware on Argon, still not recognised. Got RMA today, its done, Anyone get NVME working in the ArgonOne V3 NVME M.2 Case, let us know drive compatibility.

Thanks , the pi5 with nvme is a beast , knocks the socks off the pi4 with sata ssd , I also have the pi4 with a ssd in an argon case .
Great stuff, just saw this on a webshop and was very curious
Glad it was helpful!

NO
@@KevinKnox-vk6qg Yeah I know that now. I did end up taking the stickers off of the hard drive though.

Mine runs sweet , silly speeds from the ssd, no issues so fsr.

Have you installed the relevant scripts from Argon40?

It is a fantastic bit of kit tho., but yeh its come a lot more expensive than the original SBC concept.
It isnt like the cheaper offerings has gone away though, just that the range has expanded a lot to the higher priced tier

Did you push the daughter board on correctly
You are my hero. For some reason I had to use some force to push it all the way in. Connector is a little bit stiff
Yes I found this also , glad to of helped .

I got a warning , but after then seemed ok , the pi is running at full power .have to see if any other issues appear

Crucial P3, T500 I love this thing. added the BLSTR for sound all is well
Argon customer service is not good. No refund and refuse to ship.
Interesting info , thanks .
