As a young teen, my friends and I would meet up at a Round Table pizza place not far from my home. They had an old jute box that had this song on it. It became our group song as we did homework, ate pizza and had fun. Every time I hear this song now, which is not often, it brings back good memories of easier times. Thank you for reminding me of these joyful times of fun and friends. You guys do amazing work and this was a beautiful rendition of the piece that not only does justice to the original, but also speaks well for cyberpunk, a game I played in my youth as well, the TTRPG version of course. Thank you!
How is it that y'all can make me LOVE songs I never really even liked because of your astonishing covers!?! This and Seven Nation Army are some of my very favorites now!!! Every part of this is so well done! I love the arrangement. Does Anthony have a whistle range??? EPIC!

@@davidanalyst671you do realize that Chris Cornell RIP did several covers of other artists songs and made them his own. I believe if he was still with us he would have loved this cover. I am a huge fan of Chris Cornell and as someone who was 14 when soundgarden released the original (as well as a Voiceplay pateron) I thought it was wonderful and awesome tribute. You are intitled to your opinion you don’t have to be so rude about it.
You hear a song and say "that's nice". You hear Voiceplay cover it and you say "OMG!". I dipped my toe in the VoicePlay pond last summer, now I have fallen in their VoicePlay hole. I never want to come out now. Pray for me and my ears(chronic eargasms).
I may have a contender for FAVOURITEST VOICEPLAY SONG EVER-EST. Holy expletives, Batman, that was one of the most powerful, exciting, jaw-dropping songs I've ever heard. The effect on chorus-ing Cesar's voice is positively stunning. Anthony hitting that high high note while maintaining that amazing resonance?? YES PLEASE. I normally like a cappella to be true and organic rather than with effects on the voices, but this was just the perfect amount of distortion to give it an AMAZING, mechanical-and-also-human feel that is the perfect embodiment of cyberpunk - e.g., Anthony at 2:44 Gotta mention at least ONE delicious chord and it's this one at 2:19, a completely unexpected drop to a C# major/G# at the end of Geoff's run - so tasty! Eli and Layne, this is a MAGNIFICENT arrangement and all of you poured some special sauce into this performance. I'm positively blown away. One more thing…D#6, folks. That's the astounding note Anthony hits. You know the one.
Yes! Most creative, most epic, best at metal and rock, most theatrical, best bass, best arrangements, best videos, most handsome, does the best job of showcasing each different voice, most versatile ...
I have such a deep love for the original and I have wished for years that you guys would cover this song. I’m happy to say that this cover exceeded my expectations! This is such a masterful arrangement by Eli and Layne. It keeps all the grungy rock elements that are iconic while still being so VoicePlay with the EDM flair. I actually had tears of happiness in my eyes the first time listening through! Everyone gets their chance to shine, but I have to say Layne just absolutely went above and beyond with beatboxing, truly wonderful stuff. Many kudos to Eli especially for the extra hard work he put into all the different aspects of the song and video. ❤
Geoff is usually my favorite, but in this video Eli's rock scream at 2:35 took the prize. Sorry Geoff ;-) Eli and Layne did a fantastic job, nice tribute to Chris Cornell.
Without fail, Voiceplay makes me listen closer to every cover they make. They make the lyrics hit harder so it feels like a brand new song ❤ Truly peerless
So nice to see more of Layne. Make up is amazing but the song... absolutely awesome - brings out the beauty and uniqueness of each member's voice. Fantastic arrangement. Thank you...
I don't know how many times I've watched this video. I don't understand why there are so few likes for this video? Everything is cool here: from the video sequence to the performance. There are so many shades in the magnificent combination of voices. This video has become one of my favorites among many others by VP.
I get SUPER excited whenever Voiceplay does a rock tune because Eli has the COOLEST voice for rock music. On that note, PLEASE do a cover of Renegade from Styx. Pretty please.
Please request it. I've been asking for this on social media for awhile. I don't know if they ever see it... But I can't emphasize how badly I want them to do this song.
Love it. Sometime (for me) Voiceplay is "Not my thing but that's nice", sometime it's "it's OK, but I know it will grow on me with hearing it several time", and sometime it's "YES! This is so GOOD!!". This one is the latter.
I actually yelled out when I saw that I missed this yesterday. I tried to watch quietly since it's late, but... nope. I yelled out 3 times, and that's me TRYING to be quiet. Those gnarly bass drops, some new cyberpunk sounds out of Layne, Cesar's voice gave me intense goosebumps, Anthony ripping up into outer space, and Eli my man, how can you keep outdoing yourself? As a 90s kid and former grunge girl, this is going on repeat.
I like the vocals of the first guy best on this. Nice tone, straight-forward, none of that "boy-band" flourish. And damn! That's some low notes from guy on left!
First main vocalist is Cesar, he's been part of Voiceplay since 2021 and we all love him, and the guy on the left is Geoff, one of the best basses of current acapella, and yes, his range (both low and high) is utterly insane and we love that for him 😁
What did I just hear?! 😮😮😮😮 That was one of your best performances ever, Voiceplay. ❤ Anthony and Eli killed it with their high tenor voices, Cesar was great, Layne, his usual genius, Geoff...man, what can I say other than, he's otherworldly. When he sang the word "rain", I thought my eyes were going to fall out of their sockets! 🤯🤯🤯🤯 That was one incredible low note! And also, I'm trying to figure out, was that Geoff whose voice sounded like a guitar at times?
Great work everyone!! This is again another crazy arrangement. And again, I gotta praise Geoff for the crazy Bass epicness at the bottom. So many subharmonic notes in the background and even a growl note in the middle of the song (the first one in a WHILE). Amazing stuff!
A vey unique and singular interpretation in my view. I like that the group strayed from the original, in a good way that worked. To me it shows some advanced creativity. And I could see how each singer was fully into their parts, giving this great composition that respect.
This is one of my favorite songs musically because of the different crescendo points. Everyone’s control as they flexed gave me goosebumps….. maybe a squeak or two. Cesar starting this things off was perfection. Amazing arrangement!!!!!!!!

First of all the arrangement is mind blowing, Eli and Layne big props to both of you because this is a masterpiece. I was caught of guard a bit by the voice effects but they fit the song perfectly and it isn't too much at all. It really fit the vibe you guys were going for. The set is absolutely gorgeous, I love the projected city in the background and how you guys made it look like you were standing on a rooftop. It just looks so good. The costumes and make up omg, those are also perfect. I love the little technical things that all of you have on your faces. And I love that the costumes are just all black, they are simple but really stand out with the background that you chose. I could honestly write a whole essay on how much I love this video and song, it is just perfect. THANK YOU so much for this masterpiece and for always making beautiful music, I am going to listen to this on repeat❤❤
