I’ve been looking at O12 and Starmada more as the paint on mine is drying. The Lamda and Jackboot in a second combat group that can focus on defensive while a prime group focuses on attack and retreat.
The raptor is great until they get an EM hit and has to roll twice at BTS 2 or go into both ISOlated (resets Wp-9 because when the comms are down, hitting reset is really complicated) and IMMovilized B (an extra -3 to WP reset because hitting the reset button is not so hard when your power armor is contracted and unable to move). The concept and models are good, but I only used them once in N4 before the bronzes replaced them in all my lists, and now in N5 the removal of bronzes and so high insertion of the SPEESH MEHREEENE in vanilla means I'm down yet another playing option. Gotta love the company. Now if only their forum wasn't down since dec 23rd or so...
I mean that’s true for any heavy infantry regarding EM and the raptor killer hacker can hide behind a marker state to avoid those weapons or have another unit deal with that threat. It’s probably one of the better HI if you’re concerned about getting bricked but the gamma is also great with warhorse
Something that keeps getting forgotten is the Silverstar tinbot-3. Linkable with the PSI-Cop hacker. Gamma, and Omega. With or without Tactical Awareness.
Not sure how much value linking with a PSIcop hacker will bring you with the limited range bands but I dig linking one with the Gamma for that pseudo BTS 9
Wow! So, are there specific tournaments in the US that had notoriously bad tables? It seems to be a recurring theme… at least compared to the Australian scene…
Haha, it’s half joke half truth! The Aussie community sees a lot of tables from USA tournaments and the IGL that baffle us but it’s not a specific event or area necessarily
The US literally created the modern terrain density. The first half decade was Spanish light vs US “dense”. But like most Aussie opinions, this one is of questionable value.
Ironically tho, another 5 years later, a visiting Spaniard asked me if all American tables were so sparse. So o gave him a table to build, it wasn’t particularly more dense but he felt better. So the worm turns.

regarding "Double Shot" Label, it got changed to read "-Can- appy a +1 MOD to it's Burst Value". so perfectly fine firing single.

Yeah that’s how I tend to run my non-TAG O12 lists with a strong main combat group and a diverse second group tooled towards support

It feels like people just prefer how their local meta builds tables rather than actually reflective of how dense or sparce US tables are.
