@@NWolfsson One of the things I found interesting about Downfall was when Milo went "they're not REAL'. The crew at Critical Role always manage to do such interesting and emotional things with their character choices. It's never "perfect character does X", they're always flawed people who fumble and make mistakes, yet they're still trying, they're still doing their best to help when and how they can. It's just really nice and refreshing from a storytelling standpoint, and a good reminder that even though no person is truly flawless, it is the fact that we try, that we do our best to help those who need it, that makes us good.
It feels like Laudna somewhat became her own patron (not really I know, but work with me here) in an indirectly similar way to how Laura played the matron as a warlock (in Downfall) playing as her own patron. It's kind of like she's pulling her own power in a sense. No in the way that it's literally Delilah's power but yes in the way that her and Delilah were tied/bound together and needed each other.
@@elijahcortez3352 mechanically speaking yeah. I know it was mentioned in their level up video that she was going to choose dependent upon how the ritual went so that's a LITERAL factor but. I mean even more metaphorically, she's "kind of" her own patron in a way? She draws the power from the anchor. As I said, no in the literal way that it is Delilah's power, but yes in the sense that it is not a bargain anymore. Laudna just draws it out manually. Mechanically speaking though, yes she's essentially a special sorcerer?
The only thing is that unlike Laura with the Matron, Marisha (Laudna) is stuck at her current patron level. She won’t be able to gain anything more now but has unlimited access to what she was already given.

I love the look on Robbie’s face when Braius is talking about his backstory with the M9 just like “this is an inside joke that I don’t understand but it’s fine” :)
I love the ad bits where the other cast members get to torture Sam instead of the other way around like when he eats weird things. I would love it if they just said screw the clipboards and just started rapid firing at Sam. Like Matt just yells out "FIRE" and everyone just starts taking shots until Sam cowers under the table.
Okay, who’s betting that Braius’s deity isn’t actually Lord of the Hells, but the Platinum Dragon who forgave him and is sending him messages in a way he will accept?
I kinda doubt it. I think Braius is lying about the real reason he was excommunicated. Being tricked by two troublemakers is not exactly something you get excommunicated over. He almost definitely did worse shit, likely believing he was justified in doing so, and feels betrayed and abandoned for it, allowing the Lord of the Hells to exploit that. Reminder that Braius is intentionally *not a good guy*. Him saying "there is no objective truth, only power" like an actual fascist is a pretty good indicator of that.
@@barbarianandyidk, I do think his bitterness towards the Primes stemming from something that was done by Mortals higher up in the church’s chain of command makes sense. It’s something petty, he blames the Platinum Dragon when in reality it didn’t go like “be gone bitch”. And that’s when Asmodeus manipulated him into targeting that rage towards the primes and worshipping him instead.
Dorian: "I don't care for or particularly like the gods. They didn't answer me when I called out to them." Everyone: "Who did you call out to?" Dorian: "Lolth, the evil and selfish Spider Queen." This was hilarious to hear as a reason to why someone wouldn't like the gods.

Just imagining that Imogen is coming downstairs in between rounds of hankypanky with Laudna to get them water or something and just sees everyone fawning over Chet.
Crack headcanon: asmodeus chose braius not because of some higher purpose but feeling sorry for him after seeing the betrayal of those serving the platinum dragon cast him out because of graffiti that can easily ascribed to a “wild night” as he once heard in passing with zerxus. But now it is a constant sore subject because zerxus always points it out only to be killed again and again only to be brought back by him. To borrow from tfs tien, zerxus probably while talking to the mace “at this point zartazza it’s a game, and if he kills me then it means I am right in his desires and he knows it”.
That, is actually a solid point. Asmo did say he was his "Favorate Mortal", because of his un-ending desire to prove Asmodeus is still redeemable, that he can be redeemed... he was and still is "good". Asmodeus just kills him because "HOW dare you try and teach ME a LESSON?!", just to prove that he was right in the end, which begins another cycle of death rebirth for another 50 or so years. Maybe a break or two to be Asmodeus' foot stool at his Throne.

Also in that episode is the purchase of the dust of deliciousness. Introduced at 43:00, and finally purchased (and almost not purchased) between 52:00 and 55:00.
ashley and trav cooing over grog at the end of the episode healed a part of me, i missed pike and grog SO bad
I hope the Delilah cage is just the start to Laudna’s healing arc and it isn’t just over now, at minimum I’m really hoping vecna will finally show himself to her now that his devout follower is locked up in her chest
Speaking of Vecna - do you think he would now be tasty to Predathos?
@@SirJorb Delilah said he’d get eaten too but she could always be lying

The crew at Critical Role always manage to do such interesting and emotional things with their character choices. It's never "perfect character does X", they're always flawed people who fumble and make mistakes, yet they're still trying, they're still doing their best to help when and how they can.
It's just really nice and refreshing from a storytelling standpoint, and a good reminder that even though no person is truly flawless, it is the fact that we try, that we do our best to help those who need it, that makes us good.
Yes. Fully agree. It makes for a better narrative and viewing experience

So laudna became more of a sorcerer in a sense
@@stumbling_ my assumption is she'll spec more into just sorcerer. It's like a sorcerer with a battery pack bolted in your chest.

The whole ritual was so tense it was awesome how everyone helped out. A power of love and friendship victory.

I made the mistake of drinking my coffee during Sam's ad-read. "Right in my cancer," earned a legitimate spit take.
I love seeing Travis's reactions, he seems to get the connections pretty quick, its soo fun!
Travis is a really smart guy who played a really dumb character for a long time. He's very strategic, and I love it!
I know that Sam will top this ad read for sheer cast-breaking comedy, but I'm kind of afraid to see how XD
3:39:28 lmao Sam was so ready to throw down with Grog. That's awesome
They didn't answer me when I called out to them."
Everyone: "Who did you call out to?"
Dorian: "Lolth, the evil and selfish Spider Queen."

Gotta love Sam. Trying to pick a fight with probably the strongest person in the room. Hahaha
Travis' expression when Grog shows up is everything.
I don't think Essek calling Dorian a heartbreaker was flirty. Sounded like a genuine warning to all else present 😅
@kendras8545 I'd have to agree. Or him subtly commenting on the fact Orym has feelings for Dorian. I can see it as something Essek picked up while being with them.
I did not think about this as I was too busy writing mental fanfic but now I think about it I can easily see it that way - also since when has essek been that obvious @@dragonscalen9382

This feels like doctors deciding during the operation that they have some different ideas as well, which is funny.
And then asking the patient if they want to contribute to the brainstorming mid surgery.
Or Chetney sounding disappointed he doesn’t get to crack open a sternum.
Just imagining that Imogen is coming downstairs in between rounds of hankypanky with Laudna to get them water or something and just sees everyone fawning over Chet.
Sam took the "we have connections to the back story of heroes" to the BEST end.
The funniest part is Robbie being shot more than sam😂
3:12:11 Also Liam and Laura antics :)
3:53:40 "Besides.. This one can talk to my boyfriend, so.." Why is the way he said that so cute?
"..in my cancer..." best line.
I have to admit i agree with Ashton: Vasselheim has the same hubris for the divine that Aeor had for the Arcane
I love that they basically did with Delilah and Laudna what the mages of Aeor did with Dominox, trapping it and drawing its power
1:35:30 That really does track for Beau though. 😂
"668, neighbor of the beast" is SO GOOD.
