You guys need to buy some from here in Australia, there are thousands available although I think you have to go pre 1993 that makes it tough from any market. It's funny I know plenty here who want the Tundra/Tacoma (which we don't get) and plenty of Americans who want Hilux. Why can't the car industry just give us a good cross section.

The 3L versions are a bit thirsty, but more power. The 2L turbo's are more fuel-efficient have the same power.

My 2.8d naturally aspirated engine a.k.a as the 3L gives me about 7/8 km per litre..is that normal?
I wonder if 26/28 km per gallon would be considered as thirsty in the US?

This is not the exact model in Topgear. It was a LN65 this is a LN106. Even chases is different . Body difference is visible obviously . Think it had the 2L engine as well.

This truck has more than 60K Km's as can be seen from the wear on the driver's seat and the wear on drivers door hinges. We own the same truck LN 106 (1990) and it is at 400K Km's and still the driver seat is in good shape with similar door hinge wear. The paint on the frame is not a good sign. The rust tapes on the door implies it is really rusted. Cracks on the dash (first time I see cracks on a hilux dash in this era)

3rd World Garage that is impressive milage on the Nissan. I have a 2006 Jeep Liberty CRD with 2.8 litre 4cylinder turbo diesel engine it can tow 5000 pounds and will get over 20 mpg towing my 2000 pound popup camper on highway. I like the double cab truck with the diesel, like the Hilux sadly none sold in the US except Chevy Colorado. Nissan prototyped a Frontier with a 4cylinder Cummins engine but it has yet to enter production. I realy want another diesel when it time to replace the Jeep.
