- Hey guys come join us as I take the kids to see the Royal Palace in Rabat, Morocco. I saw it when I came in vacation here last March but the kids had yet to see it. We first stop at our favorite cafe for breakfast then we head to Rabat. Be sure to know you must present ID at the gate in order to enter the compound. We gave them our passports but they only took mine not the kids. Enjoy the video! Subscribe for more videos of my time in Morocco!

This is a private neighborhood inhabited by employees of the Royal Palace and their families. It is called the Al-Tawarek neighborhood
It’s called Touarga, not Al-Tawarek. We are Moroccan not from Qatar.

Loved seeing this! Note to Camryn: When you go out, perhaps it would help you and Jack to each carry a small backpack with everything you might need for an outing-- a bottle of water, some healthy snacks for gunger pangs, kleenex, hand sanitizer, maybe a mini-bar of soap to use in public washrooms, sunglasses, lip balm, sunscreen, a hairbrush or comb, and a scrunchy or hair tie. Perhaps you could also bring along a book, in case you got bored. And what about some cat treats, just in case you wanted to feed a kitty and your mom said ok? Can you think of anything else? Maybe a lightweight jacket or sweater, for temperature changes, and a folding mini-umbrella, in case of rain during those rainy seasons. And some chewing gum or mints, if you're allowed to have those. When my kids were old enough to carry their own supplies, that helped me SO much, because then my own bag didn't weigh a ton!

For your information, I also live in Wifaq, not far from you. if it's ok for you tell me your favorite color of gatorade.

Nice video thanks for sharing, in that palace there are some government buildings like the ministry of prime minister, ministry of Islamic religious also there is a school also there is barracks 1or 2 then there are houses or apartments for people footnote of the king ( such as nanny, chef house keeping etc )
Another thing as Moroccan if I go inside for a tour I will have to show my ID but foreigners there identification will be the let passport same if a Moroccan come to America if he want to go to a place they asked for identification he has to show his passport

Hi, that area where the palace is called Twarga. and compounds are apartments for people working in the royal palace :). Indeed we call Twarga a small kingdom inside the big kingdom because you will find everything including the king :)

The big swimming pool in Rabat is a community centre pool one with a symbolic price and its well treated and maintained plus it’s a sea water and you have nothing to worry about it when it comes to hygiene❤!

Hi Erin , let me explain why the palace has many departments. Morocco is the second oldest kingdom in the world, almost 12 centuries. In the old age the king has a lot of slaves living around the palace and working in the palaces, and since they were slaves they cannot leave the area. They were provided houses. When the king free them in modern days, he didn’t take the houses from them and they kept working at the palace as free people, some of them were provided houses in sale but still working in the palace. Other departments are relate to the palace, kind of clinic, mosque, royal admin, ….
