Blimey...if thats a crash! I think it's more a clickbait title! You guys make good enough content without having to resort to those tactics....they kinda suck tbh. I'm sure that damage can be sorted out rather easily. Enjoy ya holiday and worry about that when you return.
There's a TH-cam channel called 'Macmaster' who gets slated for clickbait but his reply is that companies have clickbait style 'Grab your attention slogans' like DFS sale ending on Sunday....which never ends. etc. To be fair all the work involved into filming/editing and it's costs us nothing other than a bit of electric, TH-camrs will do clickbait to earn for the graft.
You’re in the right place for repairs. Our side door spring broke so the door wouldn’t shut in Morocco. Two chaps fashioned a new spring out of a piece of sprung steel pulled from a cycle tire and wound round a pen, cost a few dirhams and a pair of socks, it fitted and worked so well it didn’t need changing. Also had a flat on our tag axel, got it changed in the most unlikely looking garage and all fine. Carry on and enjoy your trip.
That scratch is nothing! My spouse drove ours into a gas station and turned too sharply and bent the coach around a yellow pole near the gas pump. We had it repaired and it was absolutely repaired invisibly. Unreal what the repair shops are capable of repairing.
I honestly wish that was reflected in viewing figures. We know our loyal viewers will probably watch anyway, but the simple fact is that a new viewer can only see the title and thumbnail and we have to entice them to click our video rather than another. We wish it weren’t that way, but it is.!
I’m afraid if you need to rely on bait to catch then it must mean somethings lacking maybe that shows in the fact that other van channels are eclipsing you guys…..not a dig just and observation …
I don’t know if you are aware. Mechanics in Morocco are great craftsmen and a lot cheaper than the UK. You can get all parts and maintenance done for a quarter of what you would pay in the UK.
Im surprised you took notice of these two in the first place. Your very competent to navigate your way yourself. Youve had plenty of experience. Lesson learned.
Hi all, sorry to see the damage to your van. I just thought I would mention what we do when travelling in our motorhome that has got us out of some tight spots. I'm sure you've thought of this, we use radio's. I jump out and navigate to my husband, there has been times when he hasn't seen the dangers that I could see. It's a really simple solution. It's really awful when you damage your van, enjoy the rest of your travels. Be safe x
I feel for you with regard to the damage. I ripped the gas locker door off after a disagreement with a French Peage. It took a couple of days to calm down then I just got on to enjoy the rest of my holiday. The Auto Sleeper repair centre sorted it out on my return and did the most fantastic job. The Rabat market reminds me of Istanbuls covered bazaar.
The yellow fruit was a prickly pear, you see them growing all over large cacti. Cut off each end, score the skin and peel, the skin is quite thick. Eat the rest, including the seeds. We eat them often in southern France near Spain, but I have never seen a dragon fruit. Thanks for a great video. Your sons are getting a great cosmopolitan education in their holidays. Great life. Jo in France 🇫🇷
I'm amazed at how many people are so blasé in the comments and saying it's 'clickbait' or it wasn't a 'crash'... You guys are very positive people and will be over the collision now, but I do feel sorry for you. Thank you for the awesome videos so far !!! Love and best wishes..
I take my hat off to you driving that size motor home about! I am sure this would not have happened if you had been left to your own devices. Really enjoy following your travels with your family.
We usually carry clear tape for these occassions, which is a heavy duty tape like gaffa tape but totally clear. Useful for taping up to stop damp ingress and it doesn't look unsightly. Not sure if you can get some in Morocco. We ripped a piece off the bottom skirt when entering an aire in Spain. Found said piece took it home and fibreglassed it back in place. Looks like new. Probably repairable without replacing the whole piece I would say.
Hi guys, don't worry about the damage, maybe get some white waterproof tape to keep rain out, get it repaired in the UK, won't be too expensive either. you could look at boat repair yards as well. good luck
Look for some white tape to cover it to stop water getting in . Fill it when you get back home then stick a graphic over the top to hide if you can't match the paint.have a good time now.
It’s always overwhelming when you get directions from two or three places at once. Hopefully your damage can be put right when you get home. Nobody got hurt, just your pride 😉 The markets looked crazy 😝 Best to concentrate on your trip now and sort out the damage back home 👍🏻😃 Take care and enjoy 🚐💙 Trev
Morocco looks like a great city . We would be dreading driving round them roads with the caravan . That damage was painful to watch hope you get it fixed soon . All the best . Kevin & Jack 😊😊
Well we had similar happen. First. Tape it to protect from rain. Get a polyester expect to do the necessary, a boat yard should be able to do it. If it leaves a slight mark then you are the man to make a graphic design to hide any unevenness.
You can get a car body filler the same colour as your motor home, it’s in a tube , put it on and just lightly sand with a very fine wet and dry 👍I got it in Portugal
I used some marine gel coat filler in pure white, to fix a scratch on my Motorhome. When it was polished it was virtually undetectable, you might need some fine fibreglass cloth and polyester resin first before finishing with the filler, a fairly easy job. 😁😊
As its broken the surface of the motorhome, I'd cover it with a piece of wide white plastic tape (so as to not get water damage), and repair back in UK.
The first damage is always the worst on a new van, I feel for you. But don't let it ruin your holiday. I damaged mine on a sign that unfortunately said "No Motor Caravans" whilst in New Brighton. So I know that sickly feeling in your stomach. Try to get sone White Duct Tape for a Temp repair and hopefully you will not look at it every time you walk past it.
Argh the guardians are great if they would just sit back and make sure no one robs the vehicle. Unfortunately they have to try and help, yesterday I was reversing into a spot and the guardian got between me and the vehicle behind me and gestured for me to keep coming. In Tangiers there is a legless guardian in a wheelchair I wonder if he lost his legs pulling a stunt like that. Hope the damage is repaired soon
Hi Folks. Enjoying you trip to Morocco It looks like the corner capping is heavy duty fibre glass. Have you thought of a Boat Repairer. They should be well experienced of that type of damage. Carry on enjoying your Hols.
I would suggest just patching the damage with Gaffer Tape until you get home & get a proper fibreglass repair to the gelcoat. Remember that if you buy fake goods, then you may be caught at UK customs for importing counterfeit goods.
Try and get hold of a bottle of cutting polish like Tcut then atleast scub off that black mark. it'll make you feel a bit better in the process. been there, done it, got the tattoo and swore a lot!
Tail swing, shit happens. In Italy we took out an entire bus stand and put a huge hole in the roof so I was amused that you are bothered about a minor scratch lol
Happened to our caravan being wrongly directed by Brittany Ferries , ( their insurance paid) took it caravan place , they wanted to take the whole back off , we didn’t think that was a good idea, would it ever be waterproof again ! A friend directed us to a caravan doctor, he came to our house to repair the damage, perfect job and a third of the price
You must visit the beach resort of agadir it an beautiful resort on the coast and an must visit in morocco as I been been theirs five times it beautiful we stayed in the Kenzi europa hotel and royal atlas hotel in agadir both nice hotels and it is an holiday resort you will love it there in morocco 🇲🇦 definitely recommend for the boys Steve & lydsay it is full of restaurants and luxury hotels 🏨 on the seafront there you must try the tangine and all cheap also go to marrakech as I been there as well as also recommend not just agadir but marrakech as well as I been all over Morocco as been to Rabat and tangier as well and I also been to Casablanca as well as in tangier they won’t stop harrazzing you there

I was at a festival in our first can, was to busy chatting and saying goodbye to our lively neighbours and drove off still plugged in to the temp EHU. Pulled the post out into the side of the van. £600 later ……. It’s a sick feeling mate, until it’s sorted………
I had hole in my Eldiss the size of your fist. It was a 500 quid repair and was perfect. Don't worry, easy fix. Any good bodyshop will sort it, it's just GRP and gelcoat.
i punched a hole in my new in March caravan after our first trip away. Motor mover not quite as smooth as the one on my last Caravan. Now £500 lighter can't even tell curtesy of A&E Leisure in Northwich
Looks amazing there must try there bet your gutted I remember the first time I took our motor home out was driving down tight country road white van man was at the junction and decided not to wait and squeeze through gap that wasn’t big enough for us both and smashed my mirror into peices was devastated we only owned it a week and then to top it off gave me dud company he worked for and phone number so ended up costing us for whole replacement of complete mirror was gutted but made me more weary when on road now
So sorry to see what happened to your motorhome hope no one was hurt and I will do some research for you guys hope you are all and enjoying your holiday looks absolutely amazing and Eddie looks absolutely amazing and he is having a fantastic time and so is George and Harry enjoy you guys take care
Did mine same spot reversing into a tree branch we did repairs ourselves fibreglass and resin now nothing shows you will sort it but in your head it will always be a annoyance, get more adventures under your belt and it will slip into obscurity
I think your anger towards the local trying to help was poorly aimed, you said you knew the van well enough to guide yourself in but you didn't. You also have 4 able people onboard who could have helped you/been more trust worthy! Never trust other people with things you value, solves situations like this, Mistakes was made and you will definitely remember next time. Hopefully the repair can be made to make it look good as new. Try not to let it ruin your holiday by festering in you mind, the scratch is just surface deep and shouldn't effect anything else.
Sometimes people who think they are helping can be an absolute hindrance. You know the length of your van they should have let yo do it yourself or just had one person watching you in. Great video as alway guys keep it up 😊

I drove a fire truck for 28 years and learnt the hard way u have to watch the swing when you have a big overhang.. maybe a side camera halfway down the vehicle might help !!!
Felt your pain but fortunately a good grp repair, a bit of awning rail and van will be like new. Keep enjoying and loving your positivity. I dented my awning rail once and even years later when i pass the scene I still boil up inside lol.
Shame about the damage but its an easy fix .the Fibreglass panel can easily be repaired and will just need a new rub rail ,get it taped up to stop any moisture getting in , use your contacts at swift and avoid the dealers.
Absolutely sickening I feel your pain! Like you say just trust your own judgement in future but don’t forget the guy who never made a mistake never made anything! Good luck to you all and safe travels.
Here from Finland always following you since your trips in the slps , Albania, Croatia, America and now Morocco. Also i enjoy listening to your mother tongue English accent.
Sorry to hear that, it totally puts a downer on your day doesn’t it. I’m sure it can be fixed good as new. Nothing worse than being guided in and either someone not watching or not knowing where to watch. All the best, David & Rachel 👍
I my self crashed caravan on a tree ,crack was big..like 10cm on front right ...i temporary sealed with some glue for water not come in and paint white paint over..but its been 5 years since then and no problem so i just left it like that
Speak to the guys at East Coast Fibreglass. They do gelcoat repair kits that can be colour matched to your van. Your local bodyshop could easily do the job. They have a TH-cam channel, showing how to do it..
Blimey...if thats a crash! I think it's more a clickbait title! You guys make good enough content without having to resort to those tactics....they kinda suck tbh. I'm sure that damage can be sorted out rather easily. Enjoy ya holiday and worry about that when you return.

It is possible to repair the hit in the caravan in Morocco, plus the repair price will be cheap and excellent.

Urgh, the irony of that actually hurts!

I put a proper gouge in one of mine, Berkshire caravan repairs sorted it and you couldn't see where the repair was afterwards.
Phew!! Sounds perfect!
Argh the guardians are great if they would just sit back and make sure no one robs the vehicle. We’ve decided we will deal with it when we get home!
That's a very simple GRP repair, try and find a local boatyard. They will have the skills or know somewhere that can sort it.
Great tip!!!
Come on that’s not a crash it’s a scratch, hate to see you if you did crash you motorhome 😊
I would suggest just patching the damage with Gaffer Tape until you get home & get a proper fibreglass repair to the gelcoat. Remember that if you buy fake goods, then you may be caught at UK customs for importing counterfeit goods.
How could they prove you didn’t already have them before leaving the UK 🙄

A crash? Just a tad of an over statement.
I had virtually the same damage on my kon Tiki, if not slightly worse. I had it repaired for £350. Can’t tell now.
Ahhh there is hope then! Phew!
Hi guys, could you point any electric car charge points on your journey please. I may need them later in the year. Thanks
Sorry about the damage, however there is only one person to blame in this case. The insurance will cover it.
Try and get hold of a bottle of cutting polish like Tcut then atleast scub off that black mark. it'll make you feel a bit better in the process. been there, done it, got the tattoo and swore a lot!

Why they plant palms every where in Morocco ? Is it sacred tree there ?

Maybe because date palms grow well here? Food and shade?

Sucks about the scrape! 😢 I've bought dragon fruit in Sainsbury's. 👍🏻
I’ve hardly ever seen it at a Uk supermarket!
Ask for mint tea “Berber Whiskey”, with no sugar. As you’ve seen, Moroccans have a very sweet tooth.

Absolutely sickening I feel your pain! Like you say just trust your own judgement in future but don’t forget the guy who never made a mistake never made anything! Good luck to you all and safe travels.
Thank you x
Here from Finland always following you since your trips in the slps , Albania, Croatia, America and now Morocco. Also i enjoy listening to your mother tongue English accent.
Ahh thank you so much for your support!
Sorry to hear that, it totally puts a downer on your day doesn’t it. I’m sure it can be fixed good as new. Nothing worse than being guided in and either someone not watching or not knowing where to watch.
All the best, David & Rachel 👍
Thank you both x

Speak to the guys at East Coast Fibreglass. They do gelcoat repair kits that can be colour matched to your van. Your local bodyshop could easily do the job. They have a TH-cam channel, showing how to do it..
Oooh thanks PK!
like the video , as i say things can be mended no-one hurt ,don't let it spoil your holiday ,enjoy yourselves
Now we are over the initial shock we are ok with it!
