About Mad About You:
Only months into their marriage, Jamie (Helen Hunt) and Paul (Paul Reiser) Buchman already find themselves struggling to establish the ground rules for a life together in their Greenwich Village apartment. Charming and creative, documentary filmmaker Paul is also cautious and analytical, while up-and-coming public relations executive Jamie is a freer spirit, although one who harbors her own share of anxieties. Along with Jamie's luckless sister Lisa (Anne Ramsay), Paul's bachelor cousin Ira (John Pankow), and their close friends Dr. Mark Devanow (Richard Kind) and his wife Fran (Leila Kenzle), the Buchmans approach their life together with honesty, charm and humor in the face of the challenges posed by demanding careers, meddling families, former lovers, well-meaning friends and even their dog, Murray.

I love the writing in this show! The quick banter is just hilarious! I don't laugh like that to show nowadays.
The Kevin Bacon ending was terrific.
This entire episode is brilliant from start to finish and yet, it's just a big setup for one great joke at the end lol
I like how more and more of the shows of my childhood are on TH-cam. I was a teenager when this was on. I’m glad I have the whole series on DVD 📀

Yeah. It was nice to see it come back a few years ago. But it didn't last long unfortunately.
The beauty of the Kevin Bacon cameo is that around the same time of this episode, he was in the John Hughes movie of the same name aka She's Having A Baby....brilliant!!
This show supposedly aired from 92 to 99. That movie supposedly came out in 1988.
So funny. This show was always funny. It was never my first choice but it was funny.
I'm so tired of you. LOL. He was SO wrong for being petty. LOL. ROTFL. That last part was excellent. Lol.

It's weird, I don't think , I've seen a full episode of this until now, but yet, it's oddly nostalgic,
It lasted eight seasons, almost a decade taking glimpses at it on TV lol plus the whole atmosphere screams "1990s".
That's how nostalgia works.

What a minute. Planes Trains and Automobiles. A thanksgiving movie had a scene where a couple were arguing on a tv movie (She's having my baby) and the guy was played by Kevin Bacon. So everything can be related to Kevin Bacon.

I doubt HIPAA was so widespread back then.

When you grow up with them being on all sitcoms, you really tend to tune out the laugh tracks.
This is so stupid. Like anyone cares if a couple is pregnant. The only people that it's a big deal to is the couple who is expecting the baby. This is just ridiculous. Nobody GAF.

They were most worried about the in-laws and telling the ILs at the same time. Telling any other friends & family first made it certain the ILs would hear it from the grapevine. Plus even the other friends & family don’t wanna hear it secondhand. The premise was perfectly grounded in reality.
Imagine the show without the laugh track.
