this particular sporty sold so many sporties around the world. Harley needs to put this thing in a museum. I bought my 883 because blockhead convinced me from his early episodes and I love my 883.

My mom got an 05' 883 Low for her 50th birthday and although she didnt ride it very long before giving it up it got my father and I into riding and now I primarily ride it. Its a bike that will hopefully be with me for the rest of my life, eventually getting built out completely when I have the time, skills and money. Such a great bike!

I love me a built Sporty! I have my 2018 forty eight with entirely too much money into it since I got it a year and a half ago. I have managed to start off with a nice 2-1, intake, tuner,cams, 1250, buell oil pump gear, pushrods, valve springs, lifters, clutch, pressure plate, diaphram spring, front and rear suspension, steering damper, carbon fiber fenders and side panels, saddlemen and bars, mid controls, led lights, fuel gauge, tach, oil temp/level gauge, rail collection gloss black chopped cam cover, primary cover and lower rocker boxes, and flat black upper rocker boxes, 1/4 turn throttle, brembo 11.5 floating rotors front and rear, brembo pads, rebuffini rear radial bracket and Brembo radial calipers front and rear, speed merchant bracket for the front, xr1200 master cylinder, the list goes on and on. It may just be a Sportster to some, but it is my Sportster and I love it!

I just did the basic 1275 kit on my iron about a month and a half ago. Still doing the break in but I wish i did this way sooner. I plan to send my heads in sometime in the future when funds are more available. I had so much fun doing the 1275 kit by myself and it was my first time taking a motor apart. Its so nice knowing how everything is put together.

Can't wait to see what it looks like. I remember when I wanted to learn to ride I saw the iron 883 and then went on TH-cam too look up videos on it and yours was the first ones to pop. Plus you also had the learn to ride series and I've been hooked ever since.

So pumped. The day I got my 2019 883 I jumped onto YT to find videos on what mods I can do and Blockhead was the first channel I came across. I plan on doing the Hammer Performance kit too, though I'm not sure I'll go all the way to STFU mode. Killin' it Block!

The hammer performance is definitely the correct answer, even though my starting 48, I couldn't help but switch to 1275+570 cam (I wanted to keep the low end) and use the clutch kit recommended by Dan. Even so, I gotta say, the performance difference is huge. If anyone asks, is the 1200 worth the switch? I'd say, why not, as long as the budget allows it. Plus, the 1275 cylinder has thicker, cooler looking fins. It's really badass.

i put a 1275 kit on my sporty, added an screaming eagle air filter and 2 to 1 exhaust. Made a huge difference in power.

I love the name “the FU Sporty”. Even though I’ve been on a Dyna for the past 13 years, I’ve always had a soft spot for Sportsters. My first new Harley was a 1975 Iron head when I was a youngster. I tore the motor down the first winter that I had it. With just a few goodies it ran like a raped ape. I still get pissed when ever I hear the term “Skirtster or chicks bike” being used by young riders. I’d love to see them try to kickstart a built up Iron head in cold weather. My leg still hurts whenever I think about it. Good luck on the build up. I’m looking forward to see the finished product kick some ass.

I ended up getting my sportster after seeing ur videos I was way undecided before seeing ur vids. And always go back to your videos when doing anything to it. I am dying to get some exhaust on my bike but cant get anyone to send me some here in California. Hopefully soon I'll succeed and get myself a nice exhaust. I'd love a set like what u have on this og bike

For a performance minded Sporty swap out the belt for a chain final drive. First it looks WAY better than the Fugly belt and a chain is much more efficient than a belt drive. Think a chain robs some 3-4% while a belt robs some 15% power!
Sick!! Super excited to see the numbers and you ripping around on it.. Although I’m so stocked about this, I’m calling it now. You’ll blow a head gasket during the the tune. On top of that, if you ride the hell out of it? You’ll blow the motor. 1275’s are known to blow up, I don’t wish that on you but if you ride it like your FXLRS, that sucker will blow.

Hey Blockhead! If you do a drive chain and sprocket conversion as well, you’ll be putting maximum power to the wheel. You should get a gain of about 10% more power to the wheel with a chain and sprocket setup.

I had a buell that had an 88" motor that made 125 hp on pump gas. Aaron knew the bike from Hammer. It was totally reliable. I rode it all over the country.

Does this affect reliability? I'm getting ready to buy an 05 XL883 with almost 28k, was going to put a 1200 or more kit in it this coming winter. Hoping that will help it be more reliable

Look up Jorgen Karlsson 100 inch S&S powered sportster if you wanna see one that can rip. I think he wound up building out to like 124 cubic inches.
I need to get a sportster. They're just so endlessly modifiable. I've seen them lowered, I've seen them set up for touring, I've seen them ratted out, and I've seen them turned into ADV bikes. My current harley is far and away the greatest bike I've ever owned, but I think a sporty would be good to have just to fiddle with.
I am waiting to pay off my warranty and then I'm going to get the 120 HP 1275 kit for my sportster.
after this build is done I feel like you need to do an update video on the bike. Also I need to know where to get that swing arm bag I need one for my 883
