I bought mine new in about 1976 and rode it to Miami Beach one Saturday afternoon (about 20 miles from my house) and there were almost no cars on the street, and just a few people on their porches or walking, most elderly. Suffice it to say Miami Beach has changed a lot. I had two friends that had the too. Rode them everywhere.
You can buy a garage wreck for 100, then use less than what a functional maxi costs to fix it and then you also know how it works, and have the satisfaction
+Appelsinjonkey53 I'm from Denmark, and I bought my puch grand Prix off some guy who bought it from someone who used it for racing, and the only problem is the illegal parts, cylinder, piston, gears, exhaust. and a new wire net, you are just looking online, get out in you local area, that's way better for business
Diggin this review! haha, I once had a similar moped (and no I'm not a 50year old dude). When I was 15 (bout 10y ago) with no money I bought it and did like it at that time. But damn, it leaked EVERYWHERE, sometimes parts just fell of due to vibrations when driving.
Nice early production Maxi. They didn't really start hitting the US till '76. I had a nearly identical yellow '76 Maxi S, but the tank was so rotted it became a parts bike.
Currently trying to buy one of these.. looking at 2 My car shat out a few months back and I'm just needing a temp vehicle.. I've had a bunch of 50cc bikes and always wanted a puch Last one I had a was a 77 bativus.. was a cool little bike but rarely made it past 25mph and was kind of scary because of that. Still started & ran great! Was quiet too
I live in Phoenix. I looked for a moped for over 2 years. I finally found a really nice Sears Free Spirit (Puch/Kromag) in Sedona. After some going over and fixing a few things, it has been running great for the past year.
This could be the bike I had back in the early 1990s. Looks just like it. If it has a nicely Kreem-lined gas tank, it probably is. Bike was stolen out of my garage. A couple of years later, the police recovered it, but by the time I was notified, towing fees and storage had far exceeded its value. It was probably auctioned in Orange County, CA.
Been riding mopeds for 49 years. Had over 20 of them. One thing I noticed. PLEASE stop sitting on the seat or standing on the pedals when the moped is on the center stand. The stand is NOT designed to support the weight of the rider, only the moped. You will bend the stand, and can even crack the engine cases. On mopeds that start like a Puch, either sit on the moped while it is on the wheels, start pedaling, and pull in the starter lever. Or, with the moped on the center stand, and you standing beside it, pull in the starter lever, and step down forcefully on the pedal.
Cool that you ride it in america! Here in Germany we ride them with 15 years (or a normal scooter, but theyre crappy) Follow @mofapix for moped pictures
As an owner of an original 78 Puch. Yeh bought it new. I am lmao. This was great.
was used by the austrian postal service :) such a lovely moped!

in Switzerland every 14 years old boy has a puch maxi
They are too young to be gay, but still a real man drives a vz50, flagship, grand prix or monza
Because everyone wants to spend 2000 dollars for a moped... Right

$800? You got ripped bud!
AngryGaper you are right! here in austria where they were produced they are still pretty cheap ( arround 400€ )
True. if it was a maxi k wouldnt be that bad
not that badly, especially if it's had work done. Bought mine off a guy who restores them for about that much but it's mechanically mint.
In germany we call it 'Mofa' this thing is serious fun slow but fun!
Mofa bis 25 kmh, moped/mokick bis 40 kmh, kleinkraftrad (50ccm) keine geschwindkeitsbegrenzung, leichkraftrad (80 ccm) bis 80kmh. So wars mal
Best laugh I have had in a while. Awesome review!
Can you get them in the US too??? I have one in Switzerland

Wow good price! It's been 5 years... What happened? Is it restored or have you sold it?
like the music fits the puch. It's sexyy!!
Good luck getting 150mpg. Maybe 100mpg if you're lucky.
Still, fun as fuck and really, really good on gas. Not so reliable though.
+Young0maker most reliable vehicle ive ever had and i had a volvo are you sure youre posting this comment on the right video? :):)
Thats the joke! They know they are unreliable, that why they have pedals!
:( I must have a good puch maxi then was yours original or was it worked on? they say in original state its more reliable
at least you didn't say puk
Cool that you ride it in america! Here in Germany we ride them with 15 years (or a normal scooter, but theyre crappy)
Follow @mofapix for moped pictures
you also have a moped?
I just bought one im 20
All these car comparisons are pointless, a moped is more fun than any car!
How about getting rid of the background music next time? That way people can hear you talking....
NO iets 48'8cc
Cheaper than an eBike.
Pook?
id rather see what you see while you ride, not you man. no offense
its puch (pook)
Aqua-Fux wrong🙈
