haste and crit could be quite a nasty build for Elunes chosen. I could see 30-40% mix and match doing some nutty damage. I think it'll scale better than a prot pally.
I think tanks do much better when they have shield healing vs health bar healing. Well, more specifically, I think Ursoc shield healing is significantly more valuable than not having it. Stacking multiple shield heals enables a healer to focus more on health bar healing. And when the tank has shield healing in conjunction with a healer's health bar healing, you're not vying for the same numbers and won't overwrite or nullify the other's healing numbers as much, effectively increasing your health pool more by combining your healing with theirs. Regular health bar healing, as a Guardian, tends to often end up being overhealing. Yeah, it looks good from a numbers standpoint on Details, but the effective healing will likely be less than making use of shield healing. It is because of this that I feel Druid of the Claw still has lots of potential. Also, with your spec(s) you showed, I am not sold on taking Thrashing Claws, as I feel those two points are spent better else where down in the bottom third of the tree. I say this as a Guardian without Beta access and not playing in the Beta, so grain of salt needs to be taken. Off topic: WTF happened to the Enhancement Shaman rework? I mean, seriously, WTF? I am so pissed.......
rend and tear & scintillating moonlight reject 20% of incoming damage. how much damage does the addition of scintillating moonlight reject, compared to how much damage absorption maul or raze would provide? you say shields are more important than healing, however straight up blocking damage is far more important than shielding it off. the answer may vary heavily in the scope of stats. lets take some things into perspective shall we? so the current ursoc meta is facilitated by heavy haste, resulting in the guardian druid lacking in the critical strike damage/dodge passive & also in the mastery attack power department - attack power being the powerhouse of all tanks since it scales directly with mitigation/spell density/power, and critical strike which scales with all healing, dodge, and damage. in conclusion, haste has been a major loss for the spec in its entirety since it is a weak feedback loop that only facilitates power to 1 singular dimension, thrash, maul, raze, meaning you get more melee shield flavor, and thats it - at the expense of overall specialization strength. however now, the new feedback loop of more versatile arcane damage with critical strike, and the dodge that crit provides, and the more attack power from mastery that plays a role in both attack power and also incoming healing since your slightest moonfire does way more damage in escalation to your mastery, and for the end the most important part, the fact that you no longer need to have your globals compete over the resource of rage, which is a major upside for the spec. now for the hero talents, its the fact that you can reduce the cooldown of lunar beam by 3 seconds with each arcane spell, which is massive, leaving you the capacity to use it for more than 1 time on each pack. and also the arcane damage reinforcing hero talents in conjunction to thrash becoming arcane damage, you consistently have arcane damage going forward non stop. each tick of thrash along with the ticks of moonfire will have you a heal in return without any resource cost at all. will it be successful? we are about to find out soon in a couple of months.
i posted on the discord!! i absolutely love bear. it was my alt tank all of dragonflight. i'm really torn between it and prot warrior this time around :0
Check out moonless night underneath elune’s favored. I’m not sure what moves are considered “direct damage melee abilities” , but I assume it would be thrash, maul, mangle, raze. And the 20% burn is arcane not physical, so it would be another constant stream of healing with big burst depending on other talents.. Not sure how much though
I didn’t watch until the end and of course he hit it 🤦♂️. The only way I could see it working is if you dropped earth warden or after the wildfire and picking up the left side mangle/raze talents. Pumped mangles would benefit ursocs, pumped razes and mangles proc moonless night? It most likely wouldn’t be stronger than this though
Damn end of expansion break! Ursocs fury shields are maul and thrash not mangle and thrash. The idea was pumped mangles for bigger shields, big physical hits for moonless night. Definitely not better than the other options Zuco wins again! Thanks for keeping us well informed man
Hey Zuco, nice vid again, been watching the last few vids aswell and just want to say good job with all the vids lately. Now to the vid itself: For me it seems like it could be worth not taking Incar with none of the buffs to it and no CD reduction (the problem bear tank always have that you're probalby unable to die in incar but aren't strong enough without in bigger pulls). Would probably try Raze+Ursocs Fury for more shields so you can heal yourself at the same time with the arcane damage. I liked the no-incar-build in DF already (even tho it was clearly weaker) so might be even better now as laser-moon-bear :D
@@ZucoWoW Yeah, still think it gives a big shield in AoE situations, so maybe a more offensive build with no (or just 1-2) ironfur. It's just an idea for a no-incar-build, massive aoe and godd defensive shield (and then the healing from all the other arcane dmg while the shield persist). But for me the biggest problem with bear is that Incar feels so essencial (obviously with the CD reduce). Needs to be places more in the middle of the tree, similar to infernal for destro warlocks.
@@crainae it doesn't give the big shield unless you take a talent that you have to go out of your way for with how many points you are spending on the other side of the tree, definitely doable but you are losing something else to get it
@@GrantBrown-sp2tg but isn't ursocs fury already taken in his build? so I'm just suggesting taking raze instead of Incar (as i said might still not be worth it but the talent that thrash and raze/maul gives a shield he already has in one build, the one without resident of the sleeper).
as somone who has mainly played pala tank over the years and some dk in df, seing another tank that needs to stand in a aoe effect for defensive reasons is kinda sad, still looks kinda fun to play but im sick of having to stand in dnd/consec/lunarbeam
I'm so torn between a BDK and moon bear tank...... I made one over each on the mop remix so that way I have a fresh 70 of whichever I pick but damn you made moon bear look sooo much more appealing
I don't quite understand the critical strike chance analogy. Bear doesn't seem to have any critical strike damage scaling. Every single secondary stat will increase your damage and survivability.
I said it in the video. You get more dodge rating based on your Crit chance from your gear. More dodging = less damage taken... Plus, since we are doing a ton of healing through dealing damage with this Hero tree/build, it helps with that too. But primarily I'm thinking about getting free dodge rating.
@@ZucoWoW Yes and I said every other secondary stat increases your dmg and survivability aswell. Vers = more dmg and less dmg taken. Haste = more rage, more dmg, more ironfurs Mastery = more dmg, more healing and more hp. So if crit doesn't have any external talent nodes or something for scaling it's just guessing at this point which secondary is the best.
@@meke7777 But you're missing my point. If every secondary gives damage and survivability but Crit also gives dodge on top, how is it not superior? Crit gives damage, healing, AND dodge.
@@ZucoWoW Current guardian druid stat prio from Method's guide Item level > Haste > Vers > Crit > Mastery So no it is not superior, it still gives dodge on retail and I don't think anything has changed regarding crit in TWW. Different secondary stats need different amount of rating to get 1%. If they all were equal crit might be the best.
you rly are point starved with this. you kinda want circle and the berserk talents of sure. Not sure why you need 4 points to make berserk an cooldown but ok
I was going to main this in the TWW. This kinda solidified my pick
I play only DPS but I like watching your videos, getting to know all specs in TWW and what they offer
Thanks mate, tried out your build yesterday and its really good! Subbed and liked!

Thrash and raze are aoe

Why the moonfire 10% damage reduction talent is always 100% ignored? I think 10% less damage is awesome. Or is it gonna be berfed maybe?
Because it's 2 points. We just don't have 2 points to spare at the bottom of the tree.
Thrash is a direct damage melee ability, and affects Moonless Night
Thrash does not. There are three things that do; Mangle, Maul, and Raze. That's all. (At least on live/retail)
