Thank you for watching! Check out also this other crochet tip, how to get a neater start when crocheting around both sides of a chain th-cam.com/video/DXC40HU1lWA/w-d-xo.html
Great video! I almost didn't watch it because I already knew how to do the invisible join. So glad I watched! The twisted stack sc is very helpful. Learned something new. 😊
Your techniques are really amazing. The circular join has always frustrated me because of the line. I am in awe of your talent and especially how you explain what you are showing us. Really, what a gift you are! Thank you.
This is such a useful tutorial. I’ve been crocheting many winter hats and am never happy how the join looks when finished. I can’t wait to use your technique. I like the join you prefer. No chain, no bulky seam on the wrong side. By the way (btw), your manicure looks lovely!💅 Pink is my favorite color.💕
Oh my goodness, the trick of twisting the stacked single crochets is brilliant!! That will be my go-to method of making stacked singles from now on. Thank you!
Oh! Merci, merci!🤩
Dear Mrs. Tuulaa Maaria, Many thanks for your very clear tutorial! Your method as you do it, is fantastic! From now on this is the only and real way for me to do it this way. I have already seen many videos with different techniques to get rid of that ugly seam, but especially with crocheting a half double crochet I found it difficult to apply. (Stretch my loop on the hook, hold on to the back of that loop with my index finger, bring the tip of my hook towards me down and behind the sretched out loop. Insert my hook into the top of the same stitch.) I am very happy that you also explain your method how to crochet a half double crochet and treble crochet. You don't see that much on TH-cam! Once again many thanks and I subscribed to your channel. Warm greetings from the Netherlands!
Shirley from England here… I wish I’d known this technique of yours last week as I’ve made my youngest daughter a draught excluder done in the round.. this would have made the project perfect instead of just ok xxx saved it to my playlist even though I’m subscribed to your channel xxx
Awesome. Love the first way. I had know about stacked sc, but not exactly like you show. Your way looks much neater. I really love the join at end of round. It’s perfect. Thank you, thank you!!!
I like the first method and can't tell how I wish I had known this a few years back. I used to make a lot of things for my craft club that had the ch2 or ch3 to start the round and was quite noticeable (to me anyway) when joined with sl. st. Thank you so much for another very useful tip which I will definitely use in future projects.
I just finished a christmas stocking, and discovered that I can get a nearly invisible join/seam by changing to a much smaller hook for the joining slip stitch, and single crochet. I was using a 6mm hook, and switched down to a 4.5mm. I pulled the slip stitch, and chain, very tight. The next row was single crochet, so I made the sc loosely with the 4.5mm, then switched to the 6mm for the rest of the row. When the next row was half-double crochet, I did the same thing, but worked an extended single crochet, using the 4.5mm loosely, and switching again to the 6mm.
Very helpful. I use the stacked singles instead of a double crochet and always think it's a bit thicker than a regular double crochet. Your way definitely looks better; it's thinner with a twist.
Thank you! It doesn't have to be twisted and in some projects I don't twist but in a place where it would show clearly twisting makes it look much more like a real double crochet. Stacking straight creates a bit of an upward line that looks different from a double crochet.
I checked my video about the waistcoat stitch but unfortunately it doesn't show the joining. But I have used that stitch so rarely that I just join using a normal slip stitch and start the new round in the same stitch after first chaining one.
Thanks so much for sharing! I love getting helpful tips from you. Have you started to use this twisted stacked single in place of the “regular” stacked one in all of your projects? Or does it just depend on the project?

Oh my!! You’re such a great teacher!!! I have been crocheting for 50 years and have never seen stitch technique like that , this is awesome 😊
Lovely, so glad there are still new things you see after all those years of crochet!
Once again you have given us a wonderful tool for making out projects look good. You have so much valuable knowledge 🤗. Have a good week 🧶
Glad you found it useful! Have a great week too!
So simple but so effective! I love your method, Tuula 😊 thank you!
Happy to hear, thank you!
You are my FAVORITE TEACHER. Thank You ❤
Thank you!
That looks so much better than the other methods ive tried, that bumpy seam has been bugging me since forever! Thank you ❤
Great, happy you found a way that you like! 🩵
You videos are very clear and easy to follow and I love how you include different ways to do the joins giving people options to see what suits them…❤️
Lovely, thank you!
Thank you for sharing. Love the twisted stacked stitch. Will definitely be using this method
Wonderful!
Love the twisted stacked single! Great video! Thank you Tuula!
Lovely, thank you!
Love this!!! A game changer!!!!❤❤❤🧶🧶🧶🧶
This is perfect! I avoid so many hat patterns because I don’t want that ugly seam!!
Yes, I think the join is most noticeable in hats if it hasn't been done in a way that hides it!
Bästa tipset jag sett, tusen tack ❤️
Tack så mycket!
Thank you so much. I love this method.
Happy to hear!
Great video! I almost didn't watch it because I already knew how to do the invisible join. So glad I watched! The twisted stack sc is very helpful. Learned something new. 😊
That's lovely to hear!

I love the stacked singles. Always looks so much better than chains.
Definitely does!
Thank you so much it's way better looking !!!
😊
Wonderful!
Thank you for sharing! I prefer the first method!❤
Great!
Genius! Thank you!! 🙏🏾💖
For my future reference: starting round 2:30, ending round 4:00
Lovely! That reminds me, I forgot to add the chapters, will do that now!
Brilliant! Looks flawless! Thanks.
Probably enlist stitch markers if it is imperative to know where the round starts!
Great! True, stitch markers would make it easier to see where the start is!
I like the first one you did. Once I get the hang of it, I’m sure it will be my favorite. Thanks ❤
Lovely, thank you!
Thank you! This is just what i needed! ❤
Great, happy to hear!

Glad it was helpful! 💗 Yes, especially in hats the seam matters because a hat shows from every side! And great that you like my nails 😍
You're the best, Tuula Maaria! Thank you for sharing all your crochet secrets.
Thank you so much!
Oh my goodness, the trick of twisting the stacked single crochets is brilliant!! That will be my go-to method of making stacked singles from now on. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful! It definitely looks better that way!
thank you, Thank you, Thank you.
Namaste
You are welcome!
I'm going to try the first method, it looks the most uniform and it doesn't look hard at all. Thank you for posting this video, it was very helpful!
Thank you so much!
So many crochet techniques. Yours is amazing. 😊
There is an endless amount of techniques and options!
Your wonderful!
Thank you!
Wow! I have learnt real functional methods for a better work, thank you for your generous explanations.
Brilliant! Will definitely adopt this method. Thanks for sharing
Lovely!
how interesting! it never occurred to me to do it this way. Thank you. I'm going to have to save this somewhere.
Glad it was helpful!

Merci, je suis très contente que cette video est utile!
I already use a stacked single to start a new round/row but I like the twist you use. Also like the new ending. Thank you.
That's great, thank you!

That stacked single is awesome - thanks for another amazing tip!
Lovely, thank you!
Thank you.
Love this. Thank you so much for sharing this. 💙🧶🧵📝✌🏻

Oh well, next time! She can use the draft excluder so the join is in the back although easier of course when you don't need to check!
Ooh! Very similar to the method I’m currently using but with a twist!!
Pun intended. Thank you for this I can’t wait to try it out.
Great, hope you enjoy it!
Mind blowing! 😮
That's a nice trick. Thank you! Happy holidays to you and your family Tuula!
Thank you, you too!
Awesome. Love the first way. I had know about stacked sc, but not exactly like you show. Your way looks much neater. I really love the join at end of round. It’s perfect. Thank you, thank you!!!
Wonderful, thank you!
I’ve been using the last method you showed but do not like the inside seam to be bulky. I’m going to try the one you use. Thank You!
Great, definitely try it, it is similar but better I think!
Thanks Tuula! Great tip. I love it! ❤❤❤
Lovely! 💚

That's great! Yes, there are many crochet tips I wish I had known in the previous decades that I have been crocheting. But better late than never!
Get video - love the twisting of stitch!
Great, yes, it's handy!

Thank you, that sounds like it would work well, I should try changing hook sizes!
Such a great video I now have 2 new tricks to use, thank you !!!
Lovely!
I think I will unfasten my sweater to try it. Thank you
You could do that, or use this for the next project!
Very helpful. I use the stacked singles instead of a double crochet and always think it's a bit thicker than a regular double crochet. Your way definitely looks better; it's thinner with a twist.
Yes, that's why I like to twist it!
Hi Tuula it’s good to see you
Thank you!
Thanks Tuula❤
You are so easy to fallow. Thank you
Glad you think so! ❤️
Wonderful Tuula, thank you ❣️
I wonder why the stacking SC has to be twisted and not just stack it?
Thank you! It doesn't have to be twisted and in some projects I don't twist but in a place where it would show clearly twisting makes it look much more like a real double crochet. Stacking straight creates a bit of an upward line that looks different from a double crochet.
@ ok got it, thanks ❣️💐
Thanks you! Will you please demonstrate joining rounds for the waistcoat (a.k.a. knit) stitch?
I checked my video about the waistcoat stitch but unfortunately it doesn't show the joining. But I have used that stitch so rarely that I just join using a normal slip stitch and start the new round in the same stitch after first chaining one.
Thank you that is so helpful.
Wonderful!
Awesome ❤
Thanks so much for sharing! I love getting helpful tips from you. Have you started to use this twisted stacked single in place of the “regular” stacked one in all of your projects? Or does it just depend on the project?
Thank you! Yes, depends on the project and on the yarn, different yarns show it slightly differently. I really should make a video about that!
I prefer the same method you use.
Great!
I did something similar in the armpit area of a sweater I'm making. Lol too hard to explain what I did in text, but chaining wouldn't have worked.
Ok, great you found good way to do it!
❤❤
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🙏🏽
I prefere the Second metod
That's great!
