Neither Steve Jobs nor Jobs are big budget movies, in fact apparently Jobs budget is actually lower than Pirates. Steve Jobs has the biggest budget but at 30 million isn't considered to be big budget. Not only that it's a movie entirely focused on story, it's a more polarising movie but I think it's a better movie. Pirates is a more fun movie and Jobs isn't very good at all.

Such a great scene and the use of Iron Butterfly in the background really adds to the emotion of the characters. Noah conveys being totally startled when the doors open and the people stampede into the fair. The classic Iron Butterfly riff being played at a higher volume intensifies this feeling for the viewer. Bravo.

What's actually interesting is that this is one of the few things this great movie gets wrong.
Most people crowded towards the Commodore booth to see the PET. A lot of people did see and were excited about the Apple II, but it just wasn't as much as the movie makes it out to be.

haha :) Movies don't exist to tell the truth :p They exist to tell an entertaining version of the truth. :) Go watch Brave Heart and Kingdom of Heaven then look up the historical facts on how many people weren't ever in the same city at the same time or even old enough to be lovers. :p But the movies entertain and if they inspire people to look up the historical facts then good for them otherwise they mostly exist to entertain as much as possible. If you analyse multiple religious doctrines then you will see some factual events covered in rich stories that skew the reality of the events but still an entertaining story is told with some moral direction for any seeking guidance in life. A copy of a copy of a copy and reorganized and repackaged to give the best bang for your buck and you have a story based on life. :)

The movie is great in that it's not tainted by the idealization of Jobs as it was filmed way before his death, before iPhone, iPod and before Apple's bouncing back to glory in early 2000s. The characters were treated like the true pirates of the new industry that they were, going through its wild west stage with very vague rules and endless war of lawsuits. The movie will be 30 years old in five years. When I watched it for the first time over 20 years ago I knew who Bill Gates was but I had a very vague idea about who Jobs was.

If this movie historically correct, then after looking at this scene I can sum it up like this:
Steve is the visionary, and a person for details, the outlook. He knows how to WOW people. (And making sure he stands out) See how at the last moment he went to get a shave and wear a suit. This made him look like a superstar in his stall and in the entire fair.
Also if you look at other stalls, and compare with Apple's you will see how cool the designs of the entire stall is so beautifully done.
Now let's come back to the present time. iPhone 6/6+ launch
Everyone knows the Galaxy is way better phone with tons of features, but still people stand in line for days just to get an iPhone, because it is COOL.
I am not an iFan, but I can honestly say, Steve Jobs was truly a magician.

Maybe it has more features but a phone is now part of your fashion and an extension of your self. The iPhone is better looking, easier to use, has a nicer graphical interface and better quality materials. The Samsung is powerful and useful but the iPhone is a statement in itself.

    • @MonsieurRaptor
      @MonsieurRaptor 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Tamal Anwar The cool modern stand is an idea from Mike Markkula, not Jobs'.
But historically speaking, this scene is more accurate than the Kutcher's Jobs version. At least, here, they are making a demo of the Apple ][, rather than just saying that it's going to be a cool computer, with a computer standing on the stand without a monitor or anything.
And the iFans buy iPhone 6 because they had former versions of the iPhone, and all the apps they bought are only compatible with the iPhone. Plus they should learn a new way to use the phone if they were buying a Windows Phone or an Android phone...

Despite Gates and Jobs being fierce competitors they still remained good friends until Job's death. Personally I like Microsoft much better as an operating system despite the new renditions being geared toward touchscreens and being "stupid" proof. I think the newest version of windows is ugly as hell and is much more confusing than the past OS versions.

Technically Microsoft isn't an operating system. Windows is. Introducing Bash on Ubuntu on Windows isn't exactly in line with the stupid-proof comment. Also saying it's more confusing is contradictory to saying it's stupid-proof.

Yeah I use to be a big windows user, however linux seems to be the big thing in the future as it protects you from nothing and gives you freedom, while also not violating your privacy.

If Henry Ford can get credit for inventing the car, than it's not to absurd to say Apple invented the GUI, sense they completely refined it, but I see your point.

Great movie, But unfortunately it downplays the role of Atari and Commodore and how big they were back in the 80's. But I found this to be the best movie about this. Also check out Viva Amiga about computers from this area!

Yes, by tax evading, keeping 285 billion u.s. dollars in UK, with no intention of bring it over so they don't pay taxes on it. I'm cool by not buying the overpriced shit everyone around me thinks is cool.

@@Zamolxes77 Those were nothing compared to what Microsoft did under Bill Gates, tax evasion is something that every company do. Nowadays Microsoft is a shadow of it's former self, but back in the 90s Gates did a lot of shady, evil monopolistic deals. Now he uses his philantropic foundation as tax shelter.
