That's great! I know you will like it. Not only for the welder side, but it's a great generator. It literally saved my bacon, as I used it to power my refrigerator, a light, and a fan after Hurricane Helene knocked out my power for a week
My man keep them coming I check your channel atleast 3 times a day, when my outlaw finally comes in I’m going to have that thing tricked out because of you lol
Dude... I can't wait for you to get it. You are really going to like it. You've got about 3 weeks to go, right? Make sure you click on the notification alert so that you will be notified when I make a new video. I'm going to work on a new one tomorrow. I don't know how long it will take, but I'm going to use the Outlaw to power every machine I have. Might only get to one a day, but I will get it done. Is there anything I can make a video about for you? Anything else you want to know about the Outlaw? How about a tune up and oil change video?
@@AllStarWeldingSC Yea dude I can’t wait I hope it comes in soon, and I think the video of you powering all different machines showing how well it handles them will be a good one, and I was going to ask about a service video so heck yea that be great!
Funny you should mention that. I was just researching and jotting notes tonight for the next video, which will be servicing the machines, when new, and if you get a used one. It should be very informative, and hopefully not boring. I looked at my channel tonight and realized that I have 66 videos, and 12 of them have to do with the Outlaw. Nobody on TH-cam has more videos about the Outlaw than me. Eventually, I want to be known as "Mr. Outlaw". Haha. But I discovered something tonight, that I need to dig deeper into.... It seems that the new model of Outlaw, that has the CO2 monitor, may have done away with the auto-choke?? I'm not 100% sure just yet, so I'm looking deeper into this. I have an older model, the 1st generation. With mine, you move the choke over to the start position, then start it up. Once it's up to speed, it has an actuator than moves the choke back over to the run position on its own. A few people have commented about my little choke mod with the pull cord. They said theirs doesn't do it. But when Michael dropped by the shop with his used one he just bought, his does have it, so we did the pull cord on his. I downloaded the current user manual from HF on the new model, and it says to do it manually. That sucks. Let me know what yours does when you get it. Also... I'm getting Vulcan Outlaw shirts and hats to sell on my channel too.
Really wish I would of grabbed an outlaw when they were cheaper! Obviously we'll worth the money. Maybe I'll find one used! Haha anyway great video as always.
Thanks for the comment. Actually, the price used to be around $2300. After it dropped to $1799, they had a $300 off sale. But that was just once, I believe. If you haven't already, join the Harbor Freight Junkies Facebook group. About on a week or so, Alex will have a drawing for a 25% No Exclusion coupon. Try to win one of those. Don't ask for a coupon, that might get you kicked out. People donate these coupons and Alex will announce the drawing. He usually wants to know what you want to buy and why, then he picks a winner. They also give away item that members have donated to the group. I've donated many times
But if you check Marketplace, there is usually one within 2 hours drive from anywhere. I wouldn't pay more than $1000-1200 for a used one. Any higher than that, you may as well just go get a new one.
Thank you for the video! Just wondering if you got to run the plasma cutter (under a load)? Will the 30 amp breaker be enough? I have a Hypertherm 45 and miller 220 ac/dc and was debating on doing what you just did. I’ve had the Outlaw for about a year now and it’s been really handy. Thank you again for all the videos and information you put out there, greatly appreciated!!
I ran out of time, and didn't test it at max. I have in the past ran that plasma at 25amp on the 110v side. I will test it fully tomorrow and come back to you with the results
Very good video and instructions. What I did not understand is the purpose of the two white wires. Do the white wires serve a vital function for the welder generator to perform as it is intended? Thank you.
That's about the limit of my understanding, hopefully someone can comment about that. I really don't understand what a "neutral" means. Looking at the adapter that I have, it has clear ends, so I'm able to see that the neutral tab on 4 prong end is not used at all in the adapter. So, comparing that to the wiring diagram for the Outlaw, does show that the 2 white wires are tapped into the circuit for the throttle control box. If the 2 white wires on the neutral lug on the back of the 4 prong twist lock are separated, the throttle control will not work. So, either leave them connected to the socket as I did, or butt connect them together and take out the socket. Either way, they need to be connected to each other at the end of the project for everything to work correctly.
As someone that is new to welding, I appreciate your content and will keep watching as you grow your channel. I do have one recommendation that will not only up the production value of your videos, but may help to maintain or increase viewers as well. I recommend looking into a wireless microphone that will cut out most of that distracting background noise, to keep your viewers engaged "in the moment." Good audio is often overlooked, but it is imperative for a well-rounded production. Here is a short video that illustrates the difference between camera audio and a wireless microphone. th-cam.com/video/BM4uO1EyyfU/w-d-xo.html . Just a thought. Keep up the great work, and I'll keep watching!
Yeah, thanks. I do have a wireless mic, however, my current camera does not have a mic input for the receiver. So I have been looking into a new camera.
@@AllStarWeldingSC I see. Not sure if your current camera has an audio input at all, but if it does, usually it's a 1/8 inch. If so, you would probably just need an adapter. It would be a shame to have to get a new camera, especially since there isn't anything wrong with your picture quality.
No... Current camera does not have a input at all. My old one did. But I broke it. I had another channel that I used that camera with, and the wireless mic.
@@AllStarWeldingSC You could get an external audio recorder (cheaper than a new camera) and plug your mic into that, but then you would have the extra step of syncing your audio. I have made my living as a professional television/video editor since 2006, so I know how much time you are already putting in. The key is the content, and you are doing a great job with that!
Thanks
We have decided to get one

Thanks. I have another Outlaw video that I am working on now, but after that, I will do the test on other equipment. Keep an eye out for it.

Still waiting for my outlaw, but definitely will do your upgrades.
You bet, hope it helps out!
