My sister and I used to play a kiki’s delivery service inspired game with our
Critters. We’d use pencils as brooms and had them fly away and “leave home.” I have fond memories of these toys.

My best friend (who loves cats) and I (who love bunnies) are long distance and she bought a Calico Critters set of a cat and bunny called “seaside friends” and sent me the bunny friend. 🥰 These toys are seriously so precious, thank you for sharing the cuteness.

I never got to have them as a kid although I desperately wanted one, so as an adult I immediately bought all the playsets I could find in my city and have a little town set up in my room for them 🙏
omfg. hearing you talk about woozels made me want to cry. i grew up at that bookstore, the entire staff knows me and watched me grow up. i got so homesick hearing about it but it was so incredibly comforting watching this. thank you so so so much for this and for giving me such a tiny piece of home.

I always have hands full of blisters and cracks and just stained with machine oil and crud, no matter how much I wash them, so I wouldn't want to ruin her hair by touching, but brushing would be interesting 😌

I love Calico Critters / Sylvanian Families. ❤️ I’ve been collecting them for years (and have some videos of some of my collection). I even had a cute cat couple as my wedding cake topper earlier this year 😁
As soon as I saw your Instagram story about this I was so elated! I am also a secret calico critter fan, with the same dilemma of being an adult woman and no practical need to own them.... but they’re just so darn cute! 💕💕
I had so many of these as a child - loads of families, loads of houses, loads of furniture sets - but I never knew they were sold in blind bags? Maybe they didn't sell them that way in the UK

blind bags are a new way to sell toys in the US. it's basically a way to get kids into gambling to "collect them all" while having some toys be super rare

Really Emma you can try any toy store and they’ll likely be there. If you have an Entertainer near you, I’ve seen them in there, also at Philip Morris & Son :)

I LOVE calico critters I hold them at Barnes and noble wishing I could have them all! Seeing you buy them made me realize, I too, may own them ! Fun has no age limit!!!
When I was a kid these were called Maple Town.
They're called sylvanian families where I live!
Despite being VERY similar Maple Town was actually an entirely different toy line!

I remember one Christmas Eve I got a little tree house play set from my grand mom (or aunt ...?) and remember waking up super early in Christmas morning playing with them when I was waiting for the rest of my family to wake up ... thank you so much for this video!!!!
I have all of mine from when I was little. My sister found them over a year ago in an old storage unit (I’m in my late 30’s now). I cried when she gave them to me.

When I was a kid I used to love playing with my Calico Critters so much!
In my small collection I had a family of Dalmatians. And I remember that one day our black lab got a hold of the dad Dalmatian and took his leg off. So I used to act like the dad Dalmatian went to war and came back to his family like a war veteran missing a leg!
They are easily some of the best toys I ever had💖 truly dear to my heart! This video reminded me of how much I loved them, I’m so glad you were able to get these two critters!
