Giraffe “horns” are actually ossicones. They are made of ossified cartilage and covered in skin and fur. Giraffes are born with them. I believe their purpose is not fully understood but sometimes male giraffes use them when “necking,” which is combat using their necks.

I literally rewatch this anytime I need to go to bed or take a nap and it puts me right out
Anyone else find it sad that of all the species they have created in this adorable surprise box, in the wild the wild the only one that isn't under threat is the seal. The red panda is endangered, as is the leopard, giraffe, and tiger, Lions, narwhals, and pandas are under the class of 'population threatened' which means they're one step away from being endangered, and the seal is under the category 'least concern'. I dunno about you but the world is awful.

Pandas moved out of the endangered category of the IUCN(?) Red List to vulnerable status a few years ago, so that has actually been a conservation success of sorts!
