@@curious_ksp_ The video is called 'Kerbal Science' but the octopus sneaks into the science jr though it might also explain the mystery goo container thing
The fact that it resonates on the one body that we know also has a kraken on it is very fascinating. I wonder if the creature was always a part of the texture or if it was added more recently.
Thats implies that there is an infinite amount of Krakens, since every goo container is inhabited by one and theres no limit on how many goo containers we can stick onto our crafts.
I have a theory about what the mistery goo is The goo is a "proto kerbal". And from that a kerbal can evolve. Thats why there are no cities in kerbin, They simply are born in the Kerbal Space Center. I like to imagine that the kerbals leave a bit of their goo in the Kerbal Space Center in a storage like thing. So when they die, in a few hours the goo grows back creating the same kerbal again. And they take the goo the mission to test if a kerbal could survive in those planets/space. English is not my main language, sorry if I wrote something wrong
It sounds ok, but when you look back at the science reports, specifically in orbit of Jool, the report says that the goo seems at home so the theory is plausible but based on evidence probably not
I like the idea, but my theory is that kerbals didn't evolve by chance as they lack even the basic survival skills. Instead, I like to link it to the original canceled lore of the game which involved a secret 9th planet where a civilisation died out and sent the obelisks as seen on many planets to create the kerbals. Maybe this, is just a bi product....
FINALLY me and my friend's discovery makes it to TH-cam! I'm so glad you covered this, in such a well-edited video no less!! Also, thank you VERY MUCH for citing the Steam thread and including a link :D
Thats really cool, I always wondered what was in the mystery goo. I just never noticed in the textures the face in the container. Great content as always though
Very true. Let's say it only takes up half the space, then you only have to double the density range in the video. Sadly, due to some other unknowns, this remains a very wide range.
if Kerbals were seeded on Kerbin by the precursor civilization (known through the monuments throughout the star system), maybe the Goo is a biproduct of that? Maybe it's analagous to great apes being our evolutionary cousins, except the Goo and Kerbals also have an innate connection to space?
@@curious_ksp_ surely, and no one want to go search for it because there are too many files to look in, so many thinks it's not worth it. That's just a thought of mine. Maybe you can go through some file to see if anything interesting pops up?
And here I was thinking all this mention of the goo's feelings were just the same silliness as the laythe entry about how they thought they were looking at kerbin until somone pointed out thats not how telescopes worked
Those are holes, and it's exposed to space, so it's either that's one tough octopus or the mystery goo is keeping it alive somehow. Like the octopus in there is really a baby kraken, or assimilated by the goo, or that's how it becomes a kraken.
Awesome video, very creepy ending. The music choice was very good also. I love sci-fi horror, and believe it or not I feel like ksp has some horror elements aswell. If you ever play with the music off, you'll know what I mean. Just feels lonely, very lonely.. but are you really alone?
for thise who dont want to be spoiled about the svience reports but still want to know what it is, skip until here: 4:27 a little context: the goo seems to be able to feel, have emotions, change shape and color, and even move...
Johnkir Kerman has got to do something about this! Also, how did you get a Level 2 Security Clearance? I thought that [REDACTED] Site did not give [REDACTED] Clearance, that's supposed to be classified.
wow ! you unveiled a part of the mystery ;) i'm wondering if some one completly unveil the mystery in the game. may be the biggest mystery in the whole kerbverse. I'm wondering if it's like the Schrödinger cat, it mainly depends on the way kerbins look at it;)
Assumption 1: The goo canister is made of aluminium, and only aluminium It could also be partially composed of titanium, steel, ceramic, copper, fiberglass, silicon, glass, plexiglass, and plastics, among other things. It is extremely unlikely for the entire device to be composed of a single material. Assumption 2: The goo fills the container's internal volume completely. It doesn't seem to be clear whether or not the container is entirely filled with goo. When the container is opened, the goo is able to be removed or escape, and it is described as moving or changing shape, but it is also unclear whether it moves and changes shape within the canister, or when removed/let out.
Jup. And that is why even the simplest case will give you varying densities, just as shown in the video. That is why I concluded that the approach is not very helpful. Too many unknowns sadly. Thank you for the more expansive summary.
hello again Curious, to make your theory well, us need the basics, so to be easier to understand What is mystery goo, Soo What is inside the canister of the goo, What is indeed the goo. and i like your channel, make good videos like these😉👍
I think those eyes are not form any creture. Its just some kind of reptile eyes that during the constronction of every mistery gooTM, a kerbal brought them in and ironicly he accidentally dropped 2 of those eyes. And thus the eyes. About those tentacles at pol. Well it could be just a thing that the goo does because of magnatisem, which can make pol have a giant magnetic core!
So, is the texture of the mystery goo real, or is the video some inside joke and I didn't understand, just to make it clear I'm not being ironic, I actually searched the internet and didn't find anything about this texture with eyes, could you please to respond? Sorry if English is bad, it's not my native language.
In the description, there is a link that shows the image if you scroll down. But the game files I showed on screen also reveal the image. I *did* add in the color (the green and yellow), but the black-and-white version of the image at the end is real.
Mystery Goo is analagous to real-world animal experiments, obfuscated for the squeamish. It's a shame none of the life-support mods have picked up on this and added a life support requirement for the Goo.

@@curious_ksp_ The video is called 'Kerbal Science' but the octopus sneaks into the science jr though it might also explain the mystery goo container thing

I believe in one of the ksp2 mission screens, it’s stated that the goo can dissolve/melt thru many pieces of steel or smth
Ow dang!
And is also stated to sing in a crater on tylo
You further assume the cylinder is full of goo. There is room in it for the goo to jiggle as it flies.
