Here is part three in a video series exploring How To Overtone Sing and Throat Sing. This video focuses on the "sygyt", two cavity style, whereby the tongue hovers against, and moves forward and back upon, the upper palette. Though I no longer offer lesson via SKYPE, I do consider remote recording projects for movies, television, and of course, the music industry! What a shame when something becomes an "industry". alexglenfield(at)hotmail.com

I think I need to cry
I start and Pause your vid for like an hour now and the gab between tongue and roof of mouth is key really. Learning the brain to vibrated at the gab then the noise came clearly! It was there before but numb

I've tried to do this a bunch of times, I used to spend hours in car journeys to work trying to make overtones. 5 minutes into this video, and I suddenly started to produce them. Hehe, amazing :) It really helped when you talked in detail about tongue position. Thanks!

You are welcome! The car is a great practice space. Windshield reflects sound back to you and the hum of the engine filters mid range vocal frequencies even further!

I've been doing the same too, practising in car and in shower. When I first heard the high pitch overtones I was very excited, I didn't realise it's possible to produce by me. Interesting to note that, I didn't have to use my tongue on roof to produce the sygyt

I'm glad I'm not alone in enjoying my car ride overtone singing time! Singing Sygyt style relaxes me like almost nothing else, there is something so calming and comforting about the controlled breath and the embouchure. All my stress just melted away.

@@Glenfuch I can kind of hear some of the harmonics… it’s very subtle but I can hear something so I’m proud of that. The only thing I don’t understand is the nose part.

So I found a beginner method that helps pretty much offers instant results. Unfortunately it's only really for anyone who is fluent/familiar with Spanish. The word "El" in Spanish puts your tongue exactly where it needs to be when someone is describing "two chambers" in the mouth. Say "el", keep position of your tongue and jut your lower jaw forward. The word "el" even kinda makes your jaw move forward naturally. Start "humming" from your throat and you should be able to hear the whistle!

I was super frustrated because I wasn't hearing any overtones untill you said the lower the tone you sing, the lower and quieter the harmonics. I guess having a deep voice helps with kargyraa but not sygyt😂. Thanks for this helpful video, I started hearing overtones once I started singing a higher pitch.

Okay, I am saving this video and quoting you by name, as the analytic and pragmatic approach to Esoterics of Koomei and Sygyt throat singing styles. However, 2 days ago, I had no idea what Koomei and Sygyt, but now I can do any of it. I already knew I was throat singing prodigy because of my Kagyraa throat singing. I am the Kagyraa King. There are no other humans better at Kagyraa than, and the only way to become better than me is by learning from me. First of all, Koomei and Sygyt are fundamental controlling techniques. they can only be done up and with control of the Diodes. Kagyraa is 2 actual real notes. It can be upside-down or right-side up. However, if 1 throat sings upside-down, they can choose autonomous diodes for Kagyraa Counterpoint throat singing.
Next, I need to research the beginnings of guttural singing, I will tell you now, if upward singing a Major 3rd in throat singing Kagyraa 1 can use extra negative energy of the diaphragm to deviate airflow 4 times, 2 Unisons a third above, and Inverted 5th bellow Full Chord Kagyraa throat singing, and even Chord Progression singing. This is a link to me singing an arrangement of Counterpoint and a Chord, completely possible, even though all of these things were said to be impossible.
    vm.tiktok.com/ZMjYf7vJC/
You should know what Shankh Mudra is. It adds Overtones. It will greatly improve your fundamentals.
I did not practice actual Tibetan throat singing styles. I practiced my interval Esoterica, Key Characteristic Esoterica, Overtone Series Esoterica, and dove head first into neurolinguistic Esoterica; then built my own Esotericas for techniques, all out in the open, just focusing on maximizing neurolinguistics and music theory grade to their highest points.
You are pragmatic. I can teach you everything. You can learn it. It gets high on enlightenment itself. I'm not allowed to throat sing. I live at my dad's house. I am very poor. I don't want to die a starving artis, while I'm the best in the world at shit. They just don't let me participate in the real world. Dude, help me; I am a real person. You have not heard about this because nobody knows about this because I live in a fucking abusive. Don't take my for it. How about this, I will post 2 TH-cam on this account right here. Don't click on a fucking TikTok link. Just wait 10 minutes to a month or however long it takes you. I don't care. I'm writing my book. You're going to be in my book. My book is a big book of Esoterica. My book is called How to Write Original Chord Progressions & I'll See You in Hell. That's the name. It is a spatial relations endowment course, along Perfect Pitch development theory, Key Characteristics theory. Testosterone and adrenaline exacerbation, I will fit as much as I can. My name is Bradley Paul Delcorde, φ is my Signature for writing this Chord Progression 6 Major 5 Major 1 Major. It's a real Chord Progression. I have over 50 Chord Progressions, more than back. This account actually has 90% of my Chord Progressions in shifty videos. This is not what TikTok or Twitter are like.
I will post 2 videos. One is just a sweet song. The latest 1 will be me explaining shit frantically because I am rushed for time. I do not get to practice. U KNOW WHAT THE WORST PART IS? WHAT DO I PUT ON MY FUCKING RESUME? THAT I SING CHORDS, HUH?🎉

I speak quickly too. I wish I could offer you translation. However, as a Spanish or Portuguese speaker, you have some advantage with the ease of vowel formation.

I second each and every comment (I've read, at least), but I wanna add, the last part transforms into a Sun Ra meets David Toop meets Maurice Merleau-Ponty trip!

Kind of singing that makes me want to sip yak milk and get freaky in a tent with my mongol lady friend.

Hi Alex! First of all, thank you very much for making these fantastic videos about xoomei. I think, I got an idea that I can experiment with something like that after seeing your first introductory video a year ago... Since then I practice, practice and practice. And well, it is a pleasure to take a walk inside of your own voice :) So far I have found many surprises... I wanted to ask you about one of the discoveries: do you think there are wolf tones in Sygyt? Based on whatever fundamental, I tend to isolate one very loud overtone. This overtone is many times louder then all other 'melodic" overtones. Also, I have to say, my melodic overtones sound quite miserable...

A very informative video, thanks for sharing! I have been doing "just" overtone singing for a decade, without paying attention to the traditional details. (Actually, your most viewed video started my journey. ) I recently started to go into other depths, so your video was just on time. Cheers!

Excellent video, thank you for this. I'm very curious about the origins and culture surrounding this style. I heard once it was used by shepherds and was traditionally sung over water because the overtones carried over the water. Do you know anything about this?

I'm having a great time learning from you, Growing up I always had thought throat singing was a special gift only few could do. Now, little by little I am getting the pure tones from studying from you. I just have one question though, When I attempt sygyt, I'm not sure if I should keep my soft palate pressed flush against the back of my throat to close off the sinuses, or to keep it open and allow sound to resonate through the sinus cavities. Please let me know which is correct!

Any tips on how to increase the volume of my sygyt and lower the basic tone? Thanks for this tutorial \m/

I would pay you if you could explain it like I were a 10 year old, my brain is not the fastest.
You are very good and very talented but I just can't get the hang of it after over a year of practice.
I got the deep stuff down no problem but when it comes to that whistle, whatever its called, I can't seem to get it.
I'm going to figure it out eventually and when I do I'm going to freak out in the best way possible.
