Hi.Soaking raisins and sultanas .Baking tomorrow. Cant wait to taste final Brack. Love Irish food.Thank you for recipes Chris.Stani from Slovakia living in Ireland 🇸🇰 .
Chris, thanks so much for this recipe . I love brack but this with the Guinness and Jameson's - I'm in. Great excuse to buy the booze and have a few (more). 😊
This I will make. I used to make this in winter. I like your recipe. This would make a fine Christmas cake. By the way I like and envy your kitchen. The ovens look grand. Thanks
Tea brack is perfect any time of year, love it. Will definitely give this recipe a go. Would love a recipe for frwnach fancies please, love all your recipes and you make it easy to follow the steps.
Wow! This Tea Cake looks delicious! Great Tutorial, well explained all! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and talent! Greetings from Edith, a happy Subscriber- Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia 🌹🌹🌹❤
Made this today - had no whisky but added southern comfort instead and 2 eggs as mine were a bit on the small side - tastes amazing (btw if your dried fruit is a bit old and dried up, add a teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda to the mix when soaking the fruit in the tea)
must try...looks great...I am Irish born but living in Canada nearly 50 years...surprised that the accent got in the way...had to rewind a few times...lol
That's a fine looking tea back Chris. I might give it a bash. The ones you buy in the shops are about a third of the size of your 2 pound one, but probably cost twice as much.
@@irishbakerabroad I'm here in England....but both parents where Dubliners from finglas & crumlin....I now know how to cook barmbrack ☺️ happy 4th to yourself & the family 🥰

This, my good sir, is a terrible recipe. I made it and it was bin bound unfortunately. I love Barnbrack and make it on the regular and this is my first non-success. Sorry!
@@shasha3able Well this is also my first non-success story. I’ve people posting their great results on the Facebook page constantly. Also stating that they bake it regularly now so I’m not sure what you’re talking about. Sorry it didn’t work out for you
Maybe it's not the recipe but the cook, sometimes things that work for most don't work for some, my sister used this recipe and it turned out beautifully so now it's my turn.
That looks absolutely delicious! I'm going to try that recipy for sure!🇮🇪

You're an inspiration. It is remarkable to watch you bake. Can you give the types of spice in your spice mix.
Thanks a lot! It’s an actual product called mixed spice. It’s a blend of nutmeg, coriander, cinnamon, mace, ginger, cloves and allspice 😊
@@irishbakerabroad Thanks. I'm in the US 🇺🇸
Very good.
I'll be trying that Chris ☘️☘️

Where in Ireland? 😄
Hi chris, for teetotals and non-liqour drinkers, what else to substitute those whiskey and guinness? Can i go for a non-alcoholic malt drink?
You can just use tea instead then or try the non alcoholic malt drink. But using just tea is perfectly fine 😊☘️
@@irishbakerabroad cheers chris, hope it turns out well.
I don't have a 2 pound loaf tin. Can I make it in a round 7 inch cake tin
Yes you should be able to Lucy 😊
@irishbakerabroad thankyou. I'm going to do it tomorrow. Will update n let you know how it turns out.
That's a fine looking tea back Chris. I might give it a bash. The ones you buy in the shops are about a third of the size of your 2 pound one, but probably cost twice as much.
Ah definitely. Go for it. You won’t regret it! 👌🏻😋
Can i skip the guiness and whisky. What would be a good replacement?
You can just use tea. So 300ml of tea total 😊
This may be heresy, but can I add dried cranberries to this?
Is the raisin mix left out or put in fridge overnight?
No butter ?
Thumbs up.... Thanking you....
Thanks very much Juliet! 😊🙌🏻
Chris if u don't use the Guinness do u use extra tea ??
Seen someone else asked, all sorted than u
