This was an extremely messy match, from start to finish. Sometimes you look at the minimap and just know that you have to throw yourself in the lions den and hope for the best if you're to have ANY chance of winning, so that's what I did, but it was uffff Was funny as hell watching HE spammers at the end just throwing the potential win ball at each other. Happy New Year old man and to all salt miners 😉
Im a salt miner and a Bass watchers as well. Happy new year to you both from Western Canada. Happily I am an old salty Vet like Jingles, just not a Navy guy, I was an Infantry guy.
Mr Jingles!!! I finally unlocked the beautiful T10 HMS Conqueror and got my 1st 21 point commander the same day. You. You my good sir are my very 1st 21 pt. Just a casual player slowly grinding since that mission waaaay back in the day that you were the reward of. Sally forth and paddle on
1:45 actually Jingles, Mecklenburg gets 305mm guns and thus is unable to overmatch the Duncan's bow either. What's that? Triple shift in the lowest mines? 'Aight I'll get to work then...
There are a lot more BBs in her MM spread that can't overmatch her, 2 more at T9, an upcoming ship at T10, 5 at T8, and up to 11 at T7. Now T7 and 8 include 1 clone in each tier, but still, a ship is a ship, but don't worry, I will be keeping you company on those extra shifts in the salt mines
My god the Minnesota at the end! You expect that sort of play from tier 2 or 3 players! On a side note, the Minnesota is a cool looking ship! I love the lines on the turrets the fact there's a nice symmetry going on. It looks quite short and wide so giving it quite a tanky appearance. Whether these features are a hinderance to it is a different matter though.
To be fair to the Minnesota, although he made some very questionable decisions he was onto the right general idea. He didn't have to survive, just block the cap and reset the Thunderer for long enough to let the clock run down.
I was the top donor one month and got to pick his name, “WhereIsYourGodNow”. Still my favorite but MontanaPrincess will always have a place in my heart.
Been watching your videos for WELL over a decade, never commented before. We're both Navy vets (USN and submarines here though....) so it's been a joy watching you all this time, cheers
I would say the Minnesota player is neither a hero or a zero. I think he's more like a broken clock, because even those tell the right time twice a day.
That's an apt comparison. He didn't need to sail in to stop the cap it couldn't be capped in time to matter with only one ship with the match time that remained. Even his death wouldn't of mattered with the points lead they had because of the time restraints. But to throw away your ship for next to no damage in return... baffles me lol.
Mr Jingles, just wanted to say thank you for providing years of content for us humble salt-miners. I always enjoy your vids, and really felt the need to say thanks. Keep up the fantastic work!!!
At T9 and up, there are 4 BBs (with another on the way) with less then 380mm guns, Marlboro, as you mention, but also Illinois, Karl XIV Johan, and Mecklenburg, and the upcoming Rhode Island, at Tiers 9, 9, 10, and 10 respectively. How ever, in her MM spread, she faces T7 potentially, which has KGV, DoY, Florida, Cali, Poltava, Lyon, Hyuga, Strasbourg, and the Scharnhorsts, not to mention T8 having Anhult, both Brandonburghs, Odin, and Picardie, that is a lot more then 2 ships in her MM spread, all with less then 380s. As for needing the DFAA, Haarlem (a ship without torps) could require the use of said consumable (which considering that it went for the ship right next to him), not to mention, if you are supporting a friendly sub (icky, I know), you may want it if you see all the DC airstrikes going for him
The Minnesota is the type that comes back from battle, scarred, a survivor, a victorious hero, while someone like Flambass, who contributed largely to the victory, is dead (I know, the Minnesota also died in the last seconds of the game) This is why all-out total war is a dangerous game of Darwinian Roulette.
Happy New Year everybody! It's watching games like these that keep me playing Wows every now and then. Not that I'm near Flambass's skill, but close ones like this sure are inspiring.
No, Jingles. The Minnesota did not have to enter the cap and did not save the game. By the time the Thunderer finished capping, the game would have been over and Flambass's team would have won on points either way. If he wanted to block capping progress and was at least slightly smart, he would have stopped moving forward while there was still island cover between him and the Thunderer, while staying angled towards the Izumo.
Happy New Year! Minnesota played badly, but at least was seal for the others to club as a distraction at the end. Don't think the enemy had time left to flip the cap anyway, just halt points...
It appears that it takes 2 minutes for a ship to cap the central cap if not reset. As the Thunderer only got into the cap with 2:03 remaining in the battle, it would have had barely enough time to cap but not enough time to make up the points difference - and a single reset from the Minnesota (delivered with 1:50 left in the game) was enough to keep him from capping at all. Therefore, the Minnesota's impact was negligible, and the team would have won by more if he had continued out to A6 and done nothing. This is definitely a "won despite the Minnesota", not "won because of the Minnesota".
I'm going to lean more towards zero, anything that player accomplished (if anything at all) was done accidentally and not due to any skill or competency.
Flambass is always good to hear from. Too bad it's just a replay, the two of you are a great comedy duo. This battle was hard fought. Treats and scritches to Hjusie and Akizuki please. Give Rita my best wishes and take some for you.
To answer your question on how fast Duncan accelerates, as far as I know, British battlecruisers from tier 6 onwards get improved acceleration like British destroyers and light cruisers. They can accelerate faster than most cruisers, although I don't know if it's enough to dodge any torpedoes from a standstill.
5:40 No, Mighty Gnomish Overlord. The Dutch cruisers most definitely DON'T get torpedoes, they are all about that pretty useless 'air strike' which drops 96 bombs and might hit with 3 of them on a stationary, fat, BB, otherwise are completely useless, as are the AP and HE shells the guns fire. AP can't penetrate paper and the HE has a -100% chance of starting a fire.
I had a lot of good matches in the Minnesota... Or maybe they just seemed good compared to what tended to happen in the Kansas. I don't think I ever loaded HE once. The AP is 60% likely to be the best ammo for the next round you fire, and there's absolutely no way to know what the best ammo will be when the next shots will go out, at the earliest, 20 seconds from your decision.
To be fair to Brandonburg, having 305mm guns in a T10 game, having HE loaded is always useful whereas the AP may be worthless. He was also kinda screwed. The thunderer coming around at that point means you’re gonna get burned down. He did ok. Minnesota is still a question mark. You should never be on a flank in a fattleship. But he did save the cap.
Happy New Year Rear Admiral - hope all are well in your household? When will we get another video of Her Imperial Majesty Akizuki and the floof of floofs she waves around?
Well i havent played wows a longer time since i got jingles as the commander and bismarck even bot build out in my yard, but what is the duncan? If unaimed torpedoes does a polognese line when launched, but in direct fire they can swim in a line??
20:57 I'm not sure. The moment Thunderer entered the cap, 2 min and 2 seconds remained before the match expires. If I recall correctly, 2 min is required to capture in arms race, so there would be only 2 seconds (equivalent of 10 pts) of time to get points. Even that would be mitigated if he just entered the cap, avoid thunderer by hugging the island, angling against izumo, would have done better, without sacrificing the ship.
let me guess thats how the Minnesota grinded his way to tier 9? failing his way up to the high tiers but wins because his now dead teammates just manages to contribute enough to the team prior to sinking? I need those teammates.
He's a chicken, he's a chicken. He's a big whiney man. And he's never just happy. It's too hot or it's too cold. It's too sweet or too salt. It's never right but always wrong! Give him King, he wants Stella. Give him wine, he wants a beer. Do you like Esterella, he plays Sister Smile. He's a chicken, he's a chicken. He's a big whiney man. And he's never just happy. It's too hot or it's too cold. It's too sweet or too salt. It's never right but always wrong!
The Minnesota did do stupid things before the last few moments though. Should have gotten into the cap, went against the island, and refused to fight the Thunderer.
05:38 "Dodge the Harlem torpedoes" 🤨Jingles you do know the Harlem has no torpedoes? I guess you don't play the Dutch tree lines. That is why they have airstrikes. 18:51 Any battleship with 100% HP at this time in battle is neglecting his duty.
That's classic bad BB behaviour. Stay full health the whole game and don't help the team and then the instant they join the battle they explode. I don't know how you get to T10 without learning the basics.
This was an extremely messy match, from start to finish. Sometimes you look at the minimap and just know that you have to throw yourself in the lions den and hope for the best if you're to have ANY chance of winning, so that's what I did, but it was uffff

Happy new years, Flambasa.
Thank you very much Flambass!
Almost a game of throws.

The conq. is a fine ship! Burn down the all the ships and reprint them in your image. O7
I put jingles in the submarine line. Muhahahahah
Ok. Off to the salt mines with me.
Nah I am not even that bad I put him in the heavy cruiser line.
Congrats to you! I just earned me the Ohio! Not fortunate enough for 21pt Jingles. But I'll take the tub anyways! 👎
1:45 actually Jingles, Mecklenburg gets 305mm guns and thus is unable to overmatch the Duncan's bow either.

It's Friday, it's 5am on the east coast of the US, time for Jingles
Fuggin aye 😊
The best name flambass has gotten was Montana princess. He doesn't like the Montana.
I was the top donor one month and got to pick his name, “WhereIsYourGodNow”. Still my favorite but MontanaPrincess will always have a place in my heart.
He got WoWS Balancing department once, thats funny
Been watching your videos for WELL over a decade, never commented before.

Awww, jeez.
A bubblehead.

The phrase "Even a broken clock is right twice a day" comes to mind. Lol
I thought ASW aircraft cannot be shot down.

The Marvelous Flambino! A fine choice to start 2024, Old Man! How I look forward to a new year of The Mighty Jingles!!! Let's gooooooo!
Happy New Year everybody!
It's watching games like these that keep me playing Wows every now and then. Not that I'm near Flambass's skill, but close ones like this sure are inspiring.
Appreciate how you a true sailor are using left and right (instead of port, starboard )to make it clear for us land rates, thank you sir
i hope you have a great new year to come Jingles
No, Jingles. The Minnesota did not have to enter the cap and did not save the game. By the time the Thunderer finished capping, the game would have been over and Flambass's team would have won on points either way. If he wanted to block capping progress and was at least slightly smart, he would have stopped moving forward while there was still island cover between him and the Thunderer, while staying angled towards the Izumo.
I'll never be able to play this game, but it's always nice to see you upload it
Huh. Thats a suspiciously large PT boat...
Happy New Year! Minnesota played badly, but at least was seal for the others to club as a distraction at the end. Don't think the enemy had time left to flip the cap anyway, just halt points...
Happy new year Jingles!
Nah, Haarlem doesn't get access to torps. They could've been from the Rupprecht or the Lightning instead.
Today, this was most fun game to watch in the morning!
Haven't seen Duncan replays for awhile.
Funny fact. I called the Cakeroll Battlecruiser because the armor and design is similar to a Swiss Roll 😂
the fires it spreads stick to your ship like the chocolate coating on the clear plastic wrap of those damn things
@@jerrysmooth24 exactly. 🤣
Saw it on his channel. But nice to hear your commentary
Happy 2024 jingles❤
Happy New Year Jingles!
Let me translate for the US audience. A “plaster” is what we would call a band-aid.
I really don’t have a good one. Came here to escape. Thanks for that jingles.
Adrian in the Minnesota has 2.2k battles played and a 45% w/r, so the average player in this game...
@@MightyHuzarion I just think you need to get out of the house more.
Happy new year jingles 🎉
Happy New Year Jingles 🙂
Am I the only one looking at that massive island right next to the Minnesota wondering why he didn’t park up next to it and engage just the Izumo?
It's players like the Minnesota that liken a WOWS game to animal research.
I'm going to lean more towards zero, anything that player accomplished (if anything at all) was done accidentally and not due to any skill or competency.
who would have thought that Adrian8000o was officially a "bad" player according to wows stats
Marvelous Entertainment!!!!
Happy New Year!!!
Kind of hard for a torpedo that was derped into a beach to do any damage. The launch wiggle on those things....
Thank God for the battle timer. MVP of this game.
Flambass is always good to hear from. Too bad it's just a replay, the two of you are a great comedy duo.
This battle was hard fought.
Treats and scritches to Hjusie and Akizuki please. Give Rita my best wishes and take some for you.
@ Jingles Here my lyrics for the newer shorter version of the intro : " Warships, Warships, Warships! In a world! Brilliant yes?
I came as soon as I saw jingles
"Victory has many fathers, defeat is an orphan".
To answer your question on how fast Duncan accelerates, as far as I know, British battlecruisers from tier 6 onwards get improved acceleration like British destroyers and light cruisers. The smooth-brain man's action game.
5:40 No, Mighty Gnomish Overlord. The Minnesota, creating a new meaning for 'participation award'.
Haarlem gets no torps, those were from the Lightning.
What would be nice, as a ship model builder, is that some model company would bring out versions of some of the fantasy ships in WOW.
Happy New Year Rear Admiral - hope all are well in your household? When will we get another video of Her Imperial Majesty Akizuki and the floof of floofs she waves around?

Never noticed a dolphin swimming next to the ship during the battle countdown before.
triple shift in the salt mine

343 points more than Flambass needed to survive...
GG "old man"!
Harekaze wasn't even using the 100mm guns. Only 3 shells coming at the Chung Mu, he was using the US 5" guns instead
7:36 Actually Jingles, it was not 500 health, it was 344 health.
Still 343 more than Flambas needed
"How close was that!?" - Aaaactuallyyyyyy... He was down to 344 HP, and would be good for another second... ;-)
A zero can be a hero, even an idiot in the right place at the right time can swing a battle.
I think Admiral Nagumo was steaming that Minnesota lol
Cheers!
this battle is a perfect example of why i and many others dont play that game anymore.
let me guess thats how the Minnesota grinded his way to tier 9? failing his way up to the high tiers but wins because his now dead teammates just manages to contribute enough to the team prior to sinking?
I need those teammates.
Think they should named this thing the bonfire. Flambass spent more time afire then not.
Almost watched his upload of this battle earlier. ( like 80% sure it was this one will update later in video)
There's only one group of people that don't switch ammo types. Potatoes.
The Minnesota: The hero the team.... had
The first thing I see..... stefan0075. Oh dear. This guy.... Special 😂
It is tough seeing a Brandenburg go up against a GK

that minesota was absolutely awful
It was a Zero which was by luck at the right spot at the right time!

Yes. Yes he was.
Morning Gnome Overlord
All the British DDs tier v to IX can pen 25 MM, with IFHE. Daring has the smallest guns and 23MM penetration.
*hears that theres a tier 9 ship with only 14 inch gun* *spits food out* who tf thought that was a good idea
That Minnesota was painful to watch.
Is HMS Glass Cannon a Battlecruiser then?
The Minnesota did do stupid things before the last few moments though. Should have gotten into the cap, went against the island, and refused to fight the Thunderer.
I really wish my Harlem had torps....
I don't know what it is with BB players lately firing HE at everything (not just playing british BBs but all kinds of BBs).
how the HELL has the minnesota-player gotten to tier 9???? 50.000 battles?
Good old flambass
The Brandenburg has 305mm guns. HE Is the only viable option for 90% of the enemies it will see.
The reason why I stopped watching the end of matches, after I sank. Its often too much for both my brain and heart.
wow insane match lol
"BUT HE DOES MORE DAMAGE!!!" - every WOWS, WOT, and WOTB player who doesn't understand shell selection
I lost 80 IQ points watching that minesota

and save the team from loss by doing so
absolute chad XD
I read that as "Zao or Hero?"
Missing Cyberpunk 2077 :-)! WP flambass....
Why not both?
That's classic bad BB behaviour. Stay full health the whole game and don't help the team and then the instant they join the battle they explode. I don't know how you get to T10 without learning the basics.
