What a wonderful lady with a great sense of humour and so courageous. Her story is so tragic, so many of her family killed . The poor little niece, what a horrific death.

As a Sinti-person myself. I am very glad that too see that her testimony was recorded. Not many Sinti survived the Holocaust only 10% survived, thats why more Roma do exist. It's such an important Message that she gives to the audience 🙏

@@Eatmeat424Yeah that’s fine but it depends on the person. Some people don’t mind being called whatever the slur is but a lot of people do and it would still be considered a derogatory word like the word Eskimo. Say what you want to say though if no one is taking offence to it then you’re alright, I was just mentioning in case you didn’t have a clue but you do since you’re watching things about them.

I wish more Roma people spoke about their holocaust experience
All this time I thought it was only Jewish people in the holocaust
This woman was so kind and sweet, so sad she experienced such horror. What people don’t understand is that she as a child experienced all this death and torture around her. It must have left trauma on her . No one is completely normal after experiencing horror around them. So sad about her niece. Also sad she lost contact with her family in Europe . Her story needs to be shared. Rest In Peace angel
It was also nice to hear that some Germans were kind to her.

I think one has to remember these are memories of a very young girl. What she recals was true to her,her experience will be different to those who were slightly more developed at the time. She is so gentle and she thanked God for every little kindness she encountered along the way through this horror.
I have so much respect for her and her spirit being so strong.
Thank you for making those testimonies available to audience around the world.

Thank you for releasing this interview. In school I was taught so much history of the Holocaust from only a Jewish perspective. I knew other people groups were persecuted similarly but to actually hear the first hand experience is haunting. I’m very thankful to have these accounts to learn from. Specifically to Lina I am in awe of her composure and her ability to still be thankful after having so much taken from her. May she rest in peace.

I know folks talk about her education and memory. But look at football players or athletes who did contact sports who were highly educated with sharp memories and reaction times. After their careers were over, it got duller and for most it turned bad as the years went on with exceptions. These athletes were trained to be hit. Or folks who suffered physical trauma. Its tough talk to talk much less to recall what happened.
This poor lady went through camps and physical abuse. I don’t see how anybody come back and recall this stuff. This to me is a pretty realistic portrayal of Holocaust survivor.

To do this on their 2nd or 3rd language is pretty remarkable. It’s probably their language and communication skills is why many survived.

It is humbling to hear this story. Besides the murders, physical, and psychological acts on the people in the camps, it is difficult to fully comprehend how the total disruption of their daily lives 1:19:26 was abruptly and dramatically changed in just a short moment of time. And to think there are still people in power within the world who continue treating others or who would like to oppress men, women, and children this way. This is a strong lady.

and probably has PTSD, especially when trying to recall traumatic events, I am sure it is difficult, especially when these things occur when you are a child and your brain is not fully developed, to instantly access these memories.
