My aunt used to smear pnut butter on her ham before she baked it… delish!!! Heat it up a bit, rub creamy or crunchy peanut butter all over it, finish cooking… really really good! I remember it all these years later!!♥️‼️

The way I make my ham is to score it and then stud it with whole cloves. Then make a mixture of Orange marmalade and stone ground mustard. One jar of each. Slide the ham into a Reynolds oven bag and pour the mixture on top of it. DELICIOUS 😋!!!

Best ham recipe I have found, tweaked and use is Noreen’s kitchen, balsamic glazed ham. It only uses about 2 tablespoons of vinegar as well as seasonings, maple syrup, brown sugar and Dijon mustard. I tweaked it by heating up the ham in about 4 cups of ginger ale before you start glazing it. I also add about 8 pieces of crystallized ginger chopped up and a 1/4 tsp of ground ginger to the glaze. It’s delicious and gets raves whenever I take it to gatherings. 😄

I thought I was bad at holidays! Girl, you cooked your ass off! I'm sure they all appreciated it, you are an excellent cook and you try so hard to please family! Sounds like me! That's why they all like to come to your house! I grew up in a home like that, my mom was a great cook and holidays were always special. I managed to continue the legacy which has always been appreciated and will be remembered by my children and grandchildren. That's what you are doing, creating memories. Hard work, but worth it, it's a great way to show your love.

I LOVE that you make those chocolate mint brownies!! We call them Fudge Mint Bars in my family but the recipe is very very similar. My step-mom has made these every Christmas since before I can remember off a recipe passed down to her from her mom, and she passed the recipe down to me as well. She even serves them in her new cookie shop! Such nostalgia haha :)

We always fix a Cook's brand ham (the butt portion and it has a bone in it). I get mine at Walmart And they are always a good size. I live in Texas so I don't know if you have them in Iowa. All I do is wrap that ham in heavy duty foil and bake in a 200 degree oven for 6-7 hours. When I take out of oven, I open it up and let it cool some then transfer into another container and cover with foil and refrigerate. It is easier to slice when cold. These ham's are lightly smoked and and there is no need to season it with anything. Everyone always requests my hams. You can easily freeze any leftovers and i always leave a little on the bone and use that when I cook either a pot of pinto beans or big white butter beans and that's all the seasoning you need in those.

I always make our holiday ham this same way and everyone always requests me to make it for the family gatherings. So soo yummy! I hope you try it and I’m sure you and your family will love it as much as we do! The leftovers are also amazing!
    1 fully-cooked, bone-in ham (I use a 10 lb ham)
1 1/4 cups packed dark brown sugar
    1/3 cup pineapple juice
    1/3 cup honey
1 large orange, juiced and zested
    2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
    1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Place ham in a roasting pan.
In a small saucepan, combine brown sugar, pineapple juice, honey, orange juice, orange zest, Dijon mustard, and ground cloves. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer for 5 to 10 minutes. Set aside.
Bake ham in preheated oven uncovered for 2 hours. Remove ham from oven, and brush with glaze. Bake for an additional 30 to 45 minutes, brushing ham with glaze every 10 minutes.

For the broccoli salad try steaming it just a little then cool in the fridge. I do this when I make my salad and I just find it absorbs the dressing flavor so much more and it's easier to digest 😊

My husband makes the best ham!!! He makes it in a bag in the oven. He buys the spiral sliced & rubs brown sugar all over it & adds apple cider to the bottom of the bag. Sometimes we also add orange slices to the top. Best part is.... he hates ham & won’t even try it & EVERYbody else lives it.

i make pasta sauce in my instant pot in 10 min on manual (or pressure cook depending on model) all the time. I saute a bit of garlic and onion and then I add 2 cans tomatoes, some tomato paste, a touch of sugar, some Italian seasoning and a cup of water and put it on manual for 10 min. I cook the pasta right in the sauce too with extra water added. My family loves it and I only have one pot to clean.

Jen, for someone who likes to prep ahead this might come in handy. I’ve gotten in the habit of making ham bone broth / stock every now and then to cook beans in...and I guess you could use it for ham gravy. I just put 3 or 4 smoked ham hocks in the IP covered with water and cook it for about 30 minutes. Then I pick off all of the usable meat and add the bones and scraps back to the IP along with any herbs or spices I want to use. Then pressure cook it again for an hour or so. I strain the broth & freeze it in quarts for later use. I add the ham meat to some and leave some just broth. Better than bouillon also makes a jarred ham soup base. I picked up a jar but haven’t tried it yet.

I do have to tease you though for not scraping all the chocolate, or pie filling, or mushroom soup mix out of the bowls! You would yield more and it wouldn’t go down the drain! 🙈 Come on, Jen!! 😂

I was lazy one year and didn’t want to turn the oven on in the summer. So I took the and added a little chicken broth between and 1/8 and 1/4 cup a few pats of butter and some brown sugar. I don’t measure sorry. I put the ham in the slow cooker poured my mixture over the top and would Baste it every thirty or when I remembered. Put the slices down first then I turned it over for the rest of the time. Then I take the package that comes with the ham I take it out glaze it and it rests for 10 to 15 minutes. My daughter in law who doesn’t like a spiral ham loved it. This year well my ham fell right off the bone taking it out. Everyone loved it. I love the corn casserole, but we don’t have it much no one else cares for it. My family staple at all holiday dinners is bake beans and my DIL’s staple is cheesy potatoes. Everything looked beyond amazing. TFS love these videos.

Honestly only ham that I have cooked that was so juicy and not dried out is one of the whole hams that is not spiraled or cut in half and are not already cooked...then we just wrap it in foil and cook it in oven at 350 over night.....I have never been able to get a spiral ham to cook without it being dry!!

Loved the video!! I admire your attitude when making all of that food. I would get super stressed and be spinning around like a cyclone. You seemed to have complete control and just plugged thru the to do list just fine. I admire that!

I have an 8 qt Instant Pot. If they took it from me I don't think I could cook. I use it several times a week. I also have a 6 qt and a 3 qt but I don't use the 6 qt much. That corn casserole looked so good. I am going to try to make that. Thanks for your videos. I love them.

Jen this was amazing! You are one fantastic hostess. I love seeing what different countries eat for special occasions too. In Australia we typically have ham at Christmas time. Ours comes with the leg bone still in & the outer skin layer. It’s cured (so cooked) I usually peel the outer skin off (& discard) then score the fat in a fancy diamond pattern. We stud it with whole cloves & baste it with either orange marmalade OR orange juice. Then bake it for an hour or so. It’s delicious & is great hot or cold. I’ve never thought of making ham gravy...that’s a brilliant idea & I’m trying that this year.
Thank you for all your hard work filming, editing & sharing your life with us. Blessings to you & your family 😘

Everything looked absolutely delicious! I love holiday dinners with all of the different side dishes. Green bean casserole and corn casserole are my fav! And that manicotti...yum! I usually cook my ham in the crock pot. I pack brown sugar on the top and pour over a can of Dr. Pepper. I sometimes add pineapple if I'm feeling extra! 😊 I hope your mother in law is recovering and is on the mend. You knocked it out of the park with this dinner! Conner is such a cutie patootie! Thanks so much for sharing your process. You are freaking hilarious! Love and squishy hugs!
