Not only that, but in a game where the main gimmick is different play styles, I feel like Daisy would still be too similar to Peach.

Damn... that Daisy disrespect, though. That's what led to the great Daisy frustrations of 2013-2014 with her inclusion in both this and Smash 4.
Thankfully Daisy was included in Mario Run and Smash Ultimate, but still... we need more love for her in future mainline games!

I love this extremely unique dynamic that Koizumi and Miyamoto have when it comes to the Mario series in that Koizumi treats the franchise with respect, gives serious answers to questions that he is given about the decisions he makes in Mario games he works on, and thinks the Mario franchise deserves more complex and detailed story telling while Miyamoto barely if ever takes the franchise seriously, gives ridiculous and non-sensical answers to questions he is given about the Mario franchise, and think that the Mario franchise should not have ANY complex storytelling and should JUST be about the gameplay and says that the Mario cast is just a “troupe of actors”.

Both Nintendo and SEGA have this weird notion that we don’t want to play as their side characters. But it’s the opposite! I blame Sonic fans for SEGA’s decision though because they complained for a while about only wanting Sonic playable. 🙄

I still would've loved to see Daisy as a playable character in a mainline Mario game, she's always sidelined for spinoffs she's basically the female Luigi of the Mario Bros games.

plenty of times. they were going strong for a while on their last launch but the projared debacle basically completely shut them down and I think they deleted alot of their videos

For me, everyone doesn't know how infuriating it was to see the characters that didn't make it to this game on wii u, especially Daisy. And I knew this would happen. Daisy deserves so much better.

If that's true then-- Wow, are they really that bad at coming up with ideas that would make a pre-existing character more unique? There's absolutely no reason for them to have not come up with something regarding her flower powers. Peach can't do any of that.

Ok-- 1.) What is their excuse for Luigi then and how is Rosalina's different enough?
2.) There are literally only 2 levels in the game that does the silhouette thing. It really doesn't matter.
3.) They were going to add Toadette in the switch port. Her pigtails would blend in with the shadow. She wasn't going to look all that different from Toad.
That Yoshi thing is really dumb too if it's true. The Flutter Jump and Peach's float don't work all that similarly at all and the Potted Piranha Plant barely showed up.
Why do the devs only care about the same 5-9 characters while everyone else get scraps or nothing at all? Or is there some other dumb mandate in place for them?
This is why mario fans are getting sick and tire of Nintendo treatment whit the mario franchise. They don't care how mario fans feel how certain characters are treated. Who the fuck want a boring toad in the game over yoshi and daisy? They more they could have done whit those two characters then pink toad. This is why smash bros is love by everyone. Cause they do what Nintendo don't.
Could you imagine if we got Mario, Luigi, and two Toads AGAIN in 3D World? That would have been sooo boring. Thank goodness for Peach and Rosalina's inclusion.

They were talking about silhouettes. There are stages in that game that just use shadows of characters and if you were doing multiplayer, daisy and peach would seem like the same character. Whereas Rosalina is taller and has a thinner dress than the other two. (Kind of like Luigi to Mario)
Rosalina is more unique since she has a canon reason for being able to use the spin move

Even though she was cut, fans like me still clamor over the possibility of Daisy becoming DLC, even in the Switch rerelease.
Find it hard to believe unfortunately.. People might get mad over a DLC for a wii-u port and Nintedo probably doesn't want the trouble of adding a new character for free

Well...yeah. Rosalina is much taller than Peach and is in a completely different dress. Daisy is basically the same height as Peach (she's only slightly shorter) and her dress is near identical to Peach's.
