    Can you name any of the plants and give me tips! The more the merrier 🥰🤣
    Hope you're all doing well today, oh, and happy first of October! Aka autumn! (or spring for those on the other side of the world) excited to break out the candles, fluffy socks, blankets and all of the cosy things.💛

    I love the mirror! It's such a perfect "window to Narnia" like you put it and it's just so visually pleasing in that space

    Just starting out in the garden here also. I may share on here also ! I have clay thick soil so I am planting in a raised bed, the garden is very small but we are on the back of fields so I am so grateful for the space. I home educate my two girls who like to get out and help me also, so I am looking forward to sharing this also, I’ve been a bit slow on this platform but I love to find other gardening channels they get me through at this moment! I Love the colour choice of the paint 💜

    The first year of a new garden, apart from tidying up, is best to just observe. The plants and garden will change each season and you can see what's there and what may pop up and surprise you.

    • @Livingthelifeyoulove

      Thank you for this! I felt myself breath a sigh of relief reading your words 😂 you know when you feel you've bitten off more than you can chew? haha x

      @@Livingthelifeyoulove when I say tidy up I mean cut back when things are getting a bit too overgrown and wild! although as it's autumn things will slow down and pretty much stop in the winter, so yes breath a sigh until next spring.

      Estelle , I agree.
      Every time I move , I let the house and garden show me what it can do ....
      Let it speak to me.....
      Before I start touching or moving anything.
      Tends to take a year , just relaxing and observing everything .
      💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚

    Your garden is so twee and cute .
    It looks lovely as it is.
    What ever you do, dont add mirrors ....
    ....mirrors upset the birds , they see reflections as enemy ..
    ,...and this stresses them out.
    Hope you are loving your garden

    I love the paint colors you chose to freshen up the garden shed!
    You could use some of the cardboard in your garden to block weeds and even create a back to eden garden- cardboard, soil on top, and cover with mulch.

    I wish we had 200 year old 2 up 2 down houses in the USA, I so want one. Your garden is lovely and I hope you guys enjoy learning to be gardeners, don't forget to do any winter garden prep so that all your plants are good to winter over. My best recommendation for learning to garden is have a friend who loves to garden come over and give you tips. They'll be able to look closely at your garden, the light, weather etc. and make better recommendations. Also get some bug hotels... they're cute and will encourage pollinators to live in your garden.
    In a side note "outhouse" is what we American's call outdoor/camping toilets and porta-loos so when you called your little summer house area that you made me giggle.

    • @Livingthelifeyoulove
      @Livingthelifeyoulove  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Such a great idea, a lot of older family members are green thumbs so will get their opinions and guidance 🥰 Hahaha that's funny about the outhouse, I feel every time I speak about it I say three different words to describe it with a question mark at the end 🤣 maybe it should just be a shed?! 🤣

    The little stone walls that line the path might come up beautifully if you use a pressure washer on them? Gardens evolve constantly. I’m envious of your upcoming garden adventure. You can have so much fun with it. The little shed looks great and the mirror is perfect. Your local library should have some good books for both plant identification and inspiration. ( yes I know there are apps, but curling up with a cup of tea and a lovely book wins over a tiny phone screen for me.)

    • @Livingthelifeyoulove
      @Livingthelifeyoulove  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a good point and something we will look into 🥰 part of the wall closest to the house is s as hold as the house and dates back to the 1840's! I love your idea about gardening books and will definitely be curling up with some during the winter ready for a summer of gardening! x

    I have already suggested this but I do feel it would be amazing to turn that brick shed into a workshop. It would be a beautiful place to work on your crystals and to charge them in the sun 🥰

    • @Livingthelifeyoulove
      @Livingthelifeyoulove  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yessss that's the long term goal for it 😀 If we didn't get this house we were going to invest in a summer house to use as a workshop but seen as this one is already existing we will just renovate it x

    I think the daisy like orange flowers are calendulas, the spiky looking leaves look like irises possibly, but a few plants have leaves like that so maybe not. The plastic roof is known as polycarbonate. And I looooove that garden mirror 🥰 Also your flock of birds, I get hardly any that come to my feeders.

    • @Livingthelifeyoulove
      @Livingthelifeyoulove  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oooh are they? I know people use them in body butters and oils, exciting 😍 Thanks for your kind words! The amount of birds has dwindled in the last few weeks due to winter coming but they really enjoy the fat balls/peanuts and coconut feeders 😀
