It’s a lot of info because some of it is unnecessary.
You’re right about the base leg pushing off the ground towards your target, but you didn’t demonstrate it properly. You did a sort of slide or hop with your standing leg for your front leg side kick. The fastest & most effective front leg side kick is to not move your back leg except to rotate the foot to point the heel towards the target, bend the knee slightly as you half chamber the front leg, explode both legs straight, but your standing leg needs to lean forward a bit to benefit from the push off the ground. Meanwhile, keep your upper body from moving (telegraphing) as much as possible. Maybe even do a little distracting thing with your front hand touching his.
Also, you chamber too much. Great for telegraphing. Practically a formal invitation for your opponent to counter or step away. At least if it’s your opening move.
Rear leg side kick should never have a step forward before chambering, again, if it’s your opening move. You should chamber your rear leg as if it’s a front kick, then explode to the standing heel pointing towards the target and blasting with the blade of your foot, or if you have boots, the heel.
I get it that there are different situations where you may need to cover a large distance with a side kick, so hop step, full step, skip, slide, duck/dodge 😉, whatever you need to do to cover the distance. But against an opponent who knows your rhythm, you’re inviting failure.
