Group Home - Livin’ Proof LP is Premier’s best production ever! He was in a complete zone that I don’t think was ever replicated. Premier is the G.O.A.T. but this LP’s production is the reason why he is the G.O.A.T. I love both Jeru/Premier LPs but this Livin’ Proof vibe is timeless. And it had two hits (Supa Star and Livin’ Proof). And ‘Tha Realness’ is the hardest Premier track EVER! Shout out to Guru and Big Jaz who also had production on this LP. Some say the rhymes were too simple in Livin Proof, and Supa Star. But I can't imagine someone doing those GH beats better justice. Group home just had the flow, the rawness, hunger, unique flair and direct stripped down to the bone street rhymes/knowledge.
And with that they were the perfect added instrument to those Premier beats and vice versa. A perfect complimentary layer.

So many incredible memories of Gangstarr and Ganagstarr Foundation! The show Ganagstarr did in the Mid 90s in the UK was the best show I have see in The Forum in Kentish Town. Me and my crew was some rowdy dudes back then.... After the show Guru came into the crowd and was hanging with us... One of my best memories of hip hop. Love you guys for that realness.
    Livin Proof certified classic!

Thank you beloved... That sums it up... UNDENIABLE!!! Primo... The music that you and the entire Foundation created is truly a soundtrack for the lives of myself and my best friends. 3 cats... Hip Hop headz coming of age in Bedford Heights, Ohio... during the Golden Age of Hip Hop. Amazing. The excitement that we felt EVERY TIME that a Gang Starr Foundation project was released is indescribable and you all are definitely a part of that "pool of black genius" continuum that Donny Hathaway referred to. Beloved, you all definitely deserve your flowers RIGHT NOW... in this moment. And Primo. you will always - in my opinion - be a part of that trinity of the most exceptional producers of all time... with Pete Rock and Dr. Dre (in no specific order 'cause I don't get into all of dat). And in honoring you three, I know that I am honoring those cats whose shoulders that you all are standing on... and all the producers that you all have influenced... which is the point! I am just happy to have a venue to say THANK YOU! One... from the 216.

I saw Group Home, supporting Cypress Hill (I think) in the UK in 1995 (I think - again, its a long time ago). Loved them so much I bought their CD and sticker I used to rock on my bag as a teenager. I love these stories, much like many - because they take you back to a time...

Man, I’ve been listening to this song for almost 20 years. An all time favorite hip hop album with such a dope sound. Just last summer I picked up this jazz record from one of my favorites to play a fender Rhodes (r.I.p.). It was like just days before reading the news that he passed when I put on his record and those stabs came up “doo dooo” and I just lost my shit. After one of the dopest break downs into a wild solo but those stabs man. I heard em and instant goose bumps. It’s the perfect sample. So dope! So fat! Livin proof is unbeatable in its sound. Like just perfect rumbling boom bap real hip hop
