I Agree PAckaging Speaks to the Perceived Value of what was purchased. I will also say that once I open the knife I rarely go back to the packaging.. but its an Experience and I care about the packaging.. Strider does not but their knives speak for themselves
Agreed it’s not necessarily a deal breaker BUT…companies need to think about the experience at least a little.

annoying that Greg couldn't talk the Strider guys into upping their packaging on this.
That’s insulting to spend that much and not get something packaged nicely or a storage case or like you said at the very least a zipper pouch . I do like Medford designs .

Never did care much for Strider. Got issued one once upon a time, yes they had a NSN, think it was the SNG. It developed lock rock in the first year, and because it doesn't have an insert, I don't think it's easily fixable. Like Emerson's, I think for the money, there're way better folders, just alot of fanboys. Went to a Bark River City fixed blade with the wallet sheath EDC, just as handy, and doesn't bend in the middle. Workday though, Dynamis Bloodshark, again easy to carry, doesn't go bendy either.

I've been close to picking one of these up a few times, but I just really can't justify this over a Praetorian which I already have. I don't really care about the packaging part since I throw most of it away regardless. The only Strider I bought some 10 plus years ago came in a plastic ziplock baggie, so I guess the bubble wrap is an upgrade.

I like this knife... I don’t love it. Definitely looks like a smoother Praetorian.. I think this would have been more well received if it was advertised as a Medford Collaboration... ppl kind of found out after the fact and strider purists didn’t like that very much 😂 truth is Medford probably improved it since strider lock bars are usually terrible.
Funny you mentioned the packaging .. I bought my SNG off a guy on eBay and got in the bubble wrap bag and got pissed and asked the guy “where is the box man???” And that’s when I found out.. I almost thought it was full of shit for a second
Yep the launch of this was dumb. People need to be more upfront about who’s making things and I agree has it been introduced as a collab or would have gone off MUCH better.
The packaging alone is enough for me to not buy one honestly.
the deployment hole being sharp around the edge is my only complaint.
Yep that’s a huge negative to me. Would have taken 2 seconds to smooth it out also.
I took a ceramic rod and had that burr knocked down in about three minutes and it's MUCH more pleasant to deploy.

@@DirkWerning absolutely not but I've had to do that with plenty of my uncoated Medfords too and I don't stop buying them. I'm more disappointed that I comes in a bubble wrap envelope than I am about how sharp the hole is though.

Absolutely. Totally disappointing really. They could have used a $2 zipper pouch and I would have not had an issue with it.
