Thank you so much for this. I've had this model for 30 years I believe. I don't know another person who has one. I love it. Beautiful and a great shooter. Thanks again.

According to Browning's archived sites, the frame is actually a 'silver chrome' finish while the slide is the ' black epoxy' type. While they originally listed for $863 they now sell on the used market for around $1500-$1700.

    I love Hi Powers. BUT...
The frst thing I do is remove the senseless magazine disconnect. This makes two major improvements tot he pistol. 1 - it reduces the trigger pull bu about 50%! 2 - It allows the mags to drop free.
It only takes a few minutes and makes the pistol infinitely better.

I totally get that and I know many people do the same thing.

Guess I gotta go to jelly school now! Love the Practical. I got an old T series Hi Power from my grandfather, it's my favorite pistol by far.

I have a Girsan MCP35, I’m lucky it’s the closest thing to that beautiful piece you have.

I have things I don't like about hi powers but they were classics

Yes they were. Not as good as the 1911 though.

Beautiful pistol, my friend inherited her dads guns and one of them is a High Power NIB with the receipt from 1977. And it's not the coolest in the collection. I've thought about proposing to her after I saw the collection 😅

@@thetexasgunvault you should see this collection, Browning Sweet 16 NIB, Colts, Beretta, S&W revolvers from 50s and 60s. Enough to make me droll 😅

Good morning, Jason, why that you do this to yourself. Accurized High Power, that is funny. I cannot understand why people rant about them. Your mate Richard is obviously a terrific chap. As you know I carried many a High Power and I had no choice as my role as a medic in the military that is what they gave us, I usually break out in a rash when people mention them. Enjoy the range time. Cheers

@@thetexasgunvault I knew you expected me to comment, I nearly didn't but, there you go. The Browning High Power is rubbish, always will be. Cheers

John Browning would have designed the HP differently for FN if he had not been constrained by the patents rights he had sold to Colt for the 1911. It would have been more of an 'improved' 1911. 😊
