I used to think that the frenzied flame ending wasn't nearly as bad as the dung eater ending, which just sends everyone into ceaseless torment and suffering. Before the DLC, I thought the Frenzied Flame was more-or-less like a cleansing, a restart of the world when it got control, kinda like a forest fire. A little bit of pain for a new life. But then the Abyssal Woods happened. Legitimately the most terrifying area in the game by far. There I learned the true depths of the Frenzied Flame and the Madness it caused, and nothing in this game [besides maybe Miquella] is more terrifying. I ended up believing that the Frenzied Flame ending now is the dung eater ending but worse

Not a story break bad decision, however, on my first play through I refused to use the Serpent Hunter for the Rykard fight and thought he was the hardest boss in the base game. Only to kill him extremely easily on my next play though, should I have only been less stubborn! 😹

I’m really surprised you didn’t mention probably the worst thing you can do is burning the tree too early. When I did it, it locked me out of so many quest lines and stopped me from acquiring items and incantations permanently. Not to mention I had to walk around for so long with ash floating everywhere.
The point of no return is more when you kill Maliketh. Burning the Erdtree is necessary to get to Farum Azula for things like the final smithing stone bell bearing. I'd need to look again at what actually becomes locked out after simply burning the Erdtree but I don't think it's much
I rushed the Volcano for the pizza cutter. Then I met everybody, took my somber stone 7... Struggled a bit. Magma worm was no problem, Noble took a few tries. And THEN, you fight Rikkart as a 60 str user with that weapon... I had the mimic tear which i summoned after equiping serpent hunter. Needless to say we wrecked him. No flamming skulls chasing me, no fire of doom aoe. I had the build. I had the weapon. I shined. I screw up like 6 quests...
All Thops gives you is the Eruditioj emote. Millicent and Fias questlines can be finished even if you dont try to do them them, and Fias can be finished without ever talking to her. The others I doubt it, as I never even knew they had questlines.
Im hurt I thought giving him that Larval tear was helping him I never went to Rennala because I don’t do rebirth I like my chaotic build I can do just about anything but RIP 🪦 Boc 😢
This is not a game like the rpg Fallout games where you are routinely faced with good vs evil, justice vs chaos opportunities to turn the tide- sometimes small-scale, sometimes pivotal. The ramifications of your choices are often not clear, nor do the consequences seem to compute with a particular morale bent that the player intends to paint upon their game. It’s a weird ER murkiness that can be debated and picked apart in the forums, but playing it yourself, it’s often as baffling and ultimately mysterious as traversing the mist.
Seluvis' potion can also be given to Loathsome Dungeater so that he would become a puppet, and it's like top 3 in the game alongside Mimic Tear Ashes and Black Knife Tiche, and Nepheli's questline would be unaffected. Note that giving him the potion will prevent you from obtaining the Mending Rune of the Fell Curse locking you out from the Blessing of Despair ending and theoretically you'll also won't be able to acquire the Omen Armour set but giving him the potion then killing him will give you both the armour and the puppet, not the Mending Rune of the Fell Curse however.

To me the worst decision i could ever make was killing varre in the very beginning. I've been through hell navigating through entire region, fighting bosses i was not supposed to, doing extra chores just to get to mohgywn palace..
I screwed up so many things on the first play through. I watched too many videos on how to get the best gear and all the flasks that I blew right through so many quests.
I'm realizing that right now 🥲 I spent so much time exploring I forgot to follow questlines, now I'm 50 hours in and feel like I'm missing out on some really important content. Ps. I accidentally killed Boc in the Coastal Cave because I thought I was "putting him out of his misery"... I fucked up 💀
I locked myself out of meeting Ranni by leaving Limgrave too early. Ended up buying the bell from the shop at the round table, but I’m sad I missed the experience of meeting her
me too , I started the game and just Started walking and blasting bosses left and right until a buddy of mine in discord told me about his first run and he advises going to her as soon as possible or she doesnt spawn anymore . well fuck me them I guess
I'm on my first playthrough and I decided to do the frenzied flame ending, I'm tired of every good person dying and all the bad people living, even if I purge everything at least no one will suffer.
The worst mistake you can make is doing Ranni's quest line to get her ending and not going back to her tower to talk to her one last time to get the altered dialogue with her ending scene that changes from something like "come, my companion" to words of the effect of "come, my beloved." For the simp ending, that detail is crucial, and I'm aware many guides don't mention talking to her at her tower one last time.
If I could bring up another terrible decision, you can attack Jar Bairn, like an absolute monster. Doing so before his questline is done locks you out of the Companion Jar, and possibly Diallos' ending if done early enough, but you just have to be a real bastard to do so in the first place. Apparently there's a way to save Jarburg from getting attacked at all, too, but it involves learning Diallos' questline almost entirely.
I killed the lobster guy and I feel so bad about it. The way he said his last words while dying broke my heart. I'm so sorry lobster guy. I won't do that again in the next run. Man I feel horrible.
I took the frenzied flame before burning the erdtree. Then I finished the game, took the flame ending, went back a save, undid the frenzied flame with the needle, and did all the other endings that I could. I didn't get the Dung Eater ending because I chose to give Dung Eater the potion and get him as a puppet this time. I'll get his ending on my NG+. After doing all the endings, I went back to my save from just after finishing the game and went into the DLC. So now I'm doing the DLC *with* the frenzied flame. The advantage of this is that I can use the frenzyflame stones for healing myself and my mimic tear during battles, and they won't heal the enemies, like regular warming stones would.
All this could be avoided if there's was a pop up warning the player that beating said certain boss would forward active quest lines. Making the player double check for anything they missed.
Man your videos are so contagious and engaging. Keep going. You’re doing amazing job. Explaining everything in such a simple and easy to digest manner. So happy I’ve stumbled upon your channel! 🎉
I'm honestly still stuck at Malakith and haven't played in a while because of it...but I had a playthrough where I tried to see how far I could get in the world without ever fighting one boss...I did make it to Leyndell...
It was great, but i disagree with the point where you say frenzied flame is a bad ending ,that i believe it's the true ending with 4 reasons: 1.world hates us 2.greater will hate us 3. No one is trustworthy 4. You save the person who gave you purpose to do this even though she will never know That's all i can say
the silliest and most absolutely based quest option is to progress Sellen's questline all the way to the point that she goes to the Academy (which involves interacting with Azur on Mt. Gelmir, Lusat in Caelid north of Sellia, and one of Sellen's bodies in Seluvis's laboratory at the Three Sisters) just so you can summon her against the Red Wolf of Radagon in Raya Lucaria. She's a trash summon and will barely help you lol
@@justinmckinney9192 you'll get to pick up those armor sets as soon as you interact with their bodies. You won't miss the armor either way, which is nice.
For number 3 at a point where you have the dung eater restrained you can feed the dung boi the potion and he is one of the most powerful summons in game. A use for the potion, while keeping Nepheli alive.
I gave Giddeon the potion instead of Dung Eater. Messed with my head so much, I started a new file. Now I’ll just use this file as a “whatever I get” kind of ending. The new one will be Fias.
Near that scarlet rot bit I snuck into a cabin with a dog outside it and the dog somehow managed to kill this wizard, so I missed out on that quest. I also accidentally killed Patches. This is my first time playing btw 😂
As others have said, you forgot to mention that you can give the potion to Dung Eater. He is a MUCH better use of the potion than Nepheli, and his puppet is one of the best spirit ash summonses in the game. I would put it potentially third, after the Mimic Tear and Tische.
I got the frenzied flame ending on my first playthrough simply because I thought I’d be able to open the door and look at the 3 fingers without accepting its embrace but that clearly ain’t work. The dumb shit that happens when you go through your first playthrough blind
When the beast clergyman snapped and attacked me I didn't stop attacking until he was dead. Locking me out of getting a cool weapon and incantation. I didn't realize he had stopped fighting I was in survive mode and just keep dealing damage
Oh yeah I gave Boc the Larval Tear because I wanted to give him what he wanted and make him happy. Then I found him by Rennala and realized what I had done. It's a good thing we have the ability to alter our own garments.
My first playthrough of Elden Ring I just bulldozed through the game, skipping most NPC quest-lines and optional “dungeons” like Raya Lucaria, Volcano Manor, the Subterranean Shunning Grounds, Nokron, and Haligtree (I didn’t even know about the latter two). The reason being that FromSoft conveys the lore so poorly, so deliberately cryptically, that you never really understand anything on the first playthrough. That’s why I wasn’t a real fan of Elden Ring at first. It wasn’t until the DLC was announced that I decided to give ER another chance and for my second playthrough I delved into the lore through YT videos and wiki/fandom pages. For my second playthrough, I was extremely thorough, finding and exploring every cave, catacomb, and hero’s grave, beating every dungeon and demigod, and earning all of the Great Runes. But I did screw up a couple of things. Firstly, I completed Volcano Manor and killed Rykard BEFORE completing the Tarnished-killing quests, so I missed out on several of the rewards from Lady Tanith. I also slew Fia rather than embrace her at the roots of the Erdtree, so I missed out on the Lichdragon battle and Fia’s Mending Rune. Slaying NPCs after they more-or-less asked me to was a recurring mistake in this playthrough, because I slew Rya before I acquired the Memory-wiping potion - I regretted that. I also burned the Erdtree before I unlocked the Consecrated Snowfields and completed the Haligtree and Moghwyn Palace, which seemed wrong. But I stand by my decision to kill the Dungeater immediately after unlocking his cell, because I didn’t want to advance his quest-line or claim his Mending Rune. I also immediately killed Shabriri. In my third playthrough, I opted to use Seluvis’ Potion on the Dungeater to acquire him as a puppet, which seemed like the best choice overall. Perhaps if I do a fourth playthrough, I’ll go “evil” and complete those quest-lines. My third playthrough I chose a Sorcerer Int-Dex build, so I completed Ranni’s quest-line and chose her Mending Rune for that ending. I also completed Sellen’s quest and was disappointed how she ended up, because I liked her better than Rennala. I wish there was the option to help Sellen fight Rennala and defeat her for real, and install Sellen as the new Lady of Raya Lucaria.
Tell me if im hearing this correctly. If i lay with Fia iget a 5 % vigor debuff, that last until i use baldachins blessing? I spelled that wrong i know. Does it stack each time you lay with her? If so i been played the whole base game like that and in messmers place in the dlc. Did i mess up ? 😂😂😂
I'm a completionist and collector, so I've done all these things during at least one play-through (NG 10+ at the moment) EXCEPT give Boc the Larval tear, because there's no benefit in that, and I'm so happy about that! It seared my soul killing Millicent!
I beat Rykard early and I really regret it. I was playing a strength build with heavy armor, it sucks that I missed out so much gear that would work for my build. I've not played the DLC yet but I hope it has some good armour sets.
Baldachin's Blessing has the following effects: When in Inventory, Max HP is reduced by 5%. When used, grants +35% physical damage negation and +34% poise for 15 seconds. Also prevents stagger from attacks with damage level 0/1/2/3/5/8/11 for 15 seconds. The 5% missing Max HP is restored after the 15-second buff expires. 🎉
The max hp is not fully restored actually. You get the max potential back, but you remain missing the HP until healed via items, spell, or resting at a grace site
I accepted the flame haven't completed the game or gotten the needle. But i want all endings. Last i did eas reach farum azula. What to do next? Haven't completed millicent, guranq, maliketh

Bruh I wondered where that little debuff came from that little 5% from Fia I just figured I spawned with it lol. Maybe I’ll get rid of it soon though after 100 levels I spent with it.

@@jdudeck9163 Also it looks funny when your Mimic keeps spamming infinite Frenzyflame Stones around with frenzy spewing from their eyes with no sign of damage present
If anything, reading what that ending does to the world just further convinces me that the Ranni Simp ending is the morally correct ending for my playthrough.
But you didn't really learn anything. Midra is a failed lord. There would be no Abyssal Woods once the real lord of Frenzied Flame appears.
@@thejason755i dont understand why people think ranni’s ending is the best outcome for the world, she literally says she wants certainties and emotions to become impossibilities, basically an empty world, where people have nothing to believe in, they just.. exist
There is nothing morally correct about that smurf @@thejason755
in my opinion the ending from the dungeater is way way worse than that of the frenzied flame
why?
@@juld55probably because the dung eater ending basically means theres will always be another dung eater to pass through generations that will do the same exact things except to a bigger scale, for the frenzied flame its basically just making almost everyone go insane, but the dung eater ending is basically telling everything and everybody, “die so i can mutilate your dead body”
Dungeater just wants to see the whole world get aids
To be fair, there isn't really any good endings or even decisions in the game. They all hurt someone or everyone
@@SureDude-xy8fq Since when does "good" mean "not hurting anyone"? That's like an 8 year old's definition of good.
I wish we had the choice of giving the potion to others as well specially gideon the all sucking.
You can give it to the dung eater and get him as a summon. He's one of the best in the game
Might be a false memory but I had the potion and talked to Gideon. He basically sees through you and wishes you a pleasant day and to choose wisely...
You _can_ give it to gideon.
Which just makes him pocket it, wasting it.
Not a story break bad decision, however, on my first play through I refused to use the Serpent Hunter for the Rykard fight and thought he was the hardest boss in the base game. Only to kill him extremely easily on my next play though, should I have only been less stubborn! 😹
I did that too! I didn't even read the name of the weapon, I was so scared when I went in, so I didn't realise it's purpose. I uninstalled during that first Rykard fight, lol!
@@Lisselle.scared of what ?
I did the Sellen questline, not knowing the disturbing end that comes...
I messed up Millicent, Fia, Nepheli, Gostoc, & Corhyn/ Golden Mask quest lines. Killed Thops so I messed up any quest line that uses him.
You can just use the buff after hugging Fia and you HAVE TO HUG FIA to get an ending.
Wdym??
@@Kiingpoppa Fia give you an item called “Baldachin's Blessing” that you can use to get rid of the health debuff while also gaining +35% physical damage negation and +34% poise for 15 seconds. Fia has a quest-line with a related ending.
@@SiverFangBlackWing okay Thanks :)
@@SiverFangBlackWing If you keep the Baldichans Blessing equipped while using Mimic Tear the Mimic will use it and you can keep it for yourself to use in the endgame. It is a powerful one time use buff so it's worth saving and having the Mimic use it is a bonus!
Funny that it’s a in game mechanic that a woman shares a bed with you steals some of your life but bolsters your strength.
doing sellen's questline is a bad decision too! i mean, seeing her as that glintstone-faces-ball-thing broke my heart
On my first playthrough I missed all NPCs, killed every boss as soon as I could and missed damn near everything. I know better now.
I think letting dungeater out to kill your crab bro and then defile his corpse is terrible, then theres betraying ranni...which is actually okay because igi and blaidd live ....and sevulis :/ also, killing turtle pope means you killed the only character who takes all tomes for spells and incantations...not that you would...would you???
To me the worst decision i could ever make was killing varre in the very beginning. I've been through hell navigating through entire region, fighting bosses i was not supposed to, doing extra chores just to get to mohgywn palace..
I screwed up so many things on the first play through. I watched too many videos on how to get the best gear and all the flasks that I blew right through so many quests.
Rookie. Mistake. Git Gudder
I'm realizing that right now 🥲
I spent so much time exploring I forgot to follow questlines, now I'm 50 hours in and feel like I'm missing out on some really important content.
Ps. I accidentally killed Boc in the Coastal Cave because I thought I was "putting him out of his misery"... I fucked up 💀
@@jasliketheflower Good news is NG+ can change everything!!!
lol meeeee tooooo
I had NO IDEA about that positive path in Nepheli Loux's storyline, just the bad one. Thanks for that.
Name a bad person that still lives in ER?
The worst mistake you can make is doing Ranni's quest line to get her ending and not going back to her tower to talk to her one last time to get the altered dialogue with her ending scene that changes from something like "come, my companion" to words of the effect of "come, my beloved." For the simp ending, that detail is crucial, and I'm aware many guides don't mention talking to her at her tower one last time.
The worst decision I ever made was following a guide to complete every quest in one playthrough. Absolutely. fucking. soul draining.
If the Frenzied Flame ending is evil, then what is it when you let Melina burn herself, then claim the Flame of Frenzy after she dies?
*Insert Leonardo Di Caprio Laughing during Django Meme*
I call it my go-to gameplay loop. That way she doesn't get to badmouth my decisions.
Great video! I killed Maliketh before fully exploring Leyndell 😢
But I did complete all Volcano manor before Rykard
I killed the lobster guy and I feel so bad about it. The way he said his last words while dying broke my heart.
I'm so sorry lobster guy. I won't do that again in the next run.
Man I feel horrible.
The worst decision is talking to Ranni before completing Rogiers quest. I did it and i locked Rogiers, Fias and D's quests
I hugged Fia on my first playthrough and suffered the consequences. No more hugs. Creepy, too. Thanks for the great video!
I'm not sure why but a hug from the deathbed companion didn't sound very appealing.
I killed Boc at the cave, I saw that as an act of kindness, he was suffering, Anyway.. Maybe in NG+ I will follow this quest.
I'm honestly still stuck at Malakith and haven't played in a while because of it...but I had a playthrough where I tried to see how far I could get in the world without ever fighting one boss...I did make it to Leyndell...
It was great, but i disagree with the point where you say frenzied flame is a bad ending ,that i believe it's the true ending with 4 reasons:
1.world hates us
2.greater will hate us
3. No one is trustworthy
4. You save the person who gave you purpose to do this even though she will never know
That's all i can say
Dungeater summon is my go to if I’ve died to a boss at least 30 times
the silliest and most absolutely based quest option is to progress Sellen's questline all the way to the point that she goes to the Academy (which involves interacting with Azur on Mt. Gelmir, Lusat in Caelid north of Sellia, and one of Sellen's bodies in Seluvis's laboratory at the Three Sisters) just so you can summon her against the Red Wolf of Radagon in Raya Lucaria. She's a trash summon and will barely help you lol
But if you go back to the bodies after her quest line you get Azur and lusat's full armor set
But he kills boggart...
First play I killed after 10 min Varre, pedantic and noxious caractère till I realise I couldn’t farm runes and level up anymore !
I actually gave him a pass when i first met him. I’m not sure where he went after i beat Mogh tbh.
I gave Giddeon the potion instead of Dung Eater. Messed with my head so much, I started a new file. Now I’ll just use this file as a “whatever I get” kind of ending. The new one will be Fias.
I'm on NG+4. You're telling me I've been taking 5% more damage this whole fucking time.
This game is amazing.
The biggest mistake I made in my playthrough was not getting a second Echo of Malenia to dual wield her sword before going into NG+ ...
I figured Seluvis was up to some evil plot, but I gave Nepheli the potion last night, right before I stopped playing. 😑
Near that scarlet rot bit I snuck into a cabin with a dog outside it and the dog somehow managed to kill this wizard, so I missed out on that quest. I also accidentally killed Patches. This is my first time playing btw 😂
That's Millicent's quest line. You miss some good talisman options like rotten wing insignia
with eloquence did you deliver the nordvpn ad. truly masterful.
The worst is probably declining Melina to be your maiden.
1:00 I've been holding both blessings since my first playthrough and didn't even realize
I didn't give boc the larval tear, unfortunately, i killed him by a mistake
I’m 4 hours in, and layed with fia, should I restart? I don’t know if it’ll be worth restarting( btw this is my first Elden ring playthrough)
Use the baldachin blessing and it will take ou the healt debuff
@ thanks, I’m so glad I didn’t restart
Sam bram doing wlden ring ?? Love it ❤
The BIGGEST mistake you can make is not buying nord vpn
Pin pls 🙏
I was so grossed out by Fia that I killed her, and then couldn’t get the dragon lightening spells. *sigh*
how?
Tell me if im hearing this correctly. If i lay with Fia iget a 5 % vigor debuff, that last until i use baldachins blessing? I spelled that wrong i know. Does it stack each time you lay with her? If so i been played the whole base game like that and in messmers place in the dlc. Did i mess up ? 😂😂😂
Becoming a frenzy lord was my best decision. What an epic ending! Loved it. I feel very good by playing as a bad character with extreme power.
Baldachin's Blessing has the following effects:
When in Inventory, Max HP is reduced by 5%.
I still wish you could get to farum aula earlier without glitches.
I accepted the flame haven't completed the game or gotten the needle. But i want all endings. Last i did eas reach farum azula. What to do next? Haven't completed millicent, guranq, maliketh
I currently playing blindly, enjoying the game without rushing to complete it. I know Elden Ring has a huge amount of story to tel but I didn't realize it has THIS many. Geeez I hope I read every dialogue and explore even more. Worst thing is I only play on the weekend and most likely I have forgotten what I'm doing last week.
I think I should have a day break from office and start from the beginning.
I was trying to do the Goldmask quest line and was stuck so I took down the fire giant and burned the tree down. When I returned to the prist he was dead and goldmask no where to be seen
Bruh I wondered where that little debuff came from that little 5% from Fia I just figured I spawned with it lol. Maybe I’ll get rid of it soon though after 100 levels I spent with it.
my biggest mistake was killing the fire giant before claiming rivers of blood. truly devastating
worst decision is killing verre which locks you out of getting that 11K rune farm. I hate myself.
i mad a grave mistake when giving Boc a larval Tear. Btw do have a video where to find every remembrance boss?
My worst decision playing so far: killing White Mask Varre when he calls your character maidenless.
I wanted to try age of stars for my 2nd playthrough, progressed too far into the game or something and when I got to the ranni quest line point where she just says … the guy I was supposed to talk to was dying and I could go further. Biggest mistake Ive made in my 350 hours
I was trying to do Reya questions and missed up at the last minute
That’s probably the worse mistake I’ve made cause I have her the potion by spamming through dialogue
I feel the sorriest for Blaidd. I couldn't even bring myself to kill him afterwards.
“MAY CHAOS TAKE THE WORLD” 🗣️🔥💯
Bad decision is to do fias quest then tell her no and kill her when she says you’ll have to kill her to stop her. No litchdragon fight for me first playthrough
There's no mistakes when you made the choice and you want those things to happen
I also feel bad for helping Selen turn herself into a suffering bowling ball. She may have been better off pinned to that wall…
'We try to help but only make it worse' - most Elden Ring quests (actually most FromSoft quests)
Poor Boc! No good deed goes unpunished in the Lands Between!
LOL on my first playthrough I killed Rykard almost immediately and then on my second playthrough I killed Maliketh first try 😂. Lessons learned the hard way
I accidentally almost died the flame ending once the only that stop me was looking up what the needle does
Biggest screw up was not doing Rannis questline before burning the tree
Boc has a quest? I always just grabbed the mushrooms and never saw him again
I now need to go to NG+ to collect the bolt of gransax to complete the legendary armaments achievement 😅
If its any consolation depending on your build nepheli is a damn good spirit ash if you are a bruiser but cant seem to hit a boss cuz youre so slow she can stun lock lol
