i’d have to say kevin is a complete musical genius. genre defining and caused almost a decade of direct inspiration to many many bands and artists. Currents will definitely be a album for the ages as it is already heading there with how many of kevin’s songs were voted in the top 100 of the decade and came first aswell (on australia’s triple j top 100 of the 2010s
I just listened to Currents for the first time yesterday and that is my favorite. It reminds me of Out Of Time by The Weeknd. They have a similar atmosphere to them imo

Yes I'm Changing keeps putting people in a trance, what can I say. Majority of people take the song in and get quiet when it plays, like you Shelby. This other reactor called Mercurial Number Six also just sat down in silence throughout the whole song lol. Overall great reaction Shelby, you notice many details especially in the instrumentals that one would otherwise not pick up on first listen :)
This album got me through having cancer then once I beat it I dropped acid at a live show. Played let it happen for a good 20 minutes right off the bat. 0 regrets
I remember when I heard Tame Impala for the first time in 2010. Their music was such a fusion of Pink Floyd and Beatles and all good things from Prog rock and the mid 60's psychadelia with a modern twist using modern recording and production techniques. This would be the music that John Lennon or Syd Barrett would have made.

I discovered Tame Impala before those two, but now Pink Floyd is my favorite band and The Beatles are my second favorite band :) I also like Prog Rock and obviously the psychadelia from the 60's. John Lennon and Syd Barrett just so happen to be some of my favorite artists of all time.

I first heard this album about a year ago, and no joke, I have listened to it everyday since. Everytime I feel like I'm escaping into a whole other world and having a conversation with myself. The lyrics are so poignant, but the music just speaks on a whole other level. It is the musical personification of personal change and all the highs and lows that come with that. Incredibly powerful. It's my favorite album of all time. This was such a great reaction. Great stuff. Thanks for sharing.
The less I know the better was voted number 1 in the triple j hottest 100, taking songs from 2010 to 2019. It's a gem (Triple J is a alternative music station in Australia primarily aimed at the youth demographic)

first time i ever heard tame impala was at a music festival here in montreal. it was the greatest way to be introduced to the band. they performed this album and some older stuff and i was instantly hooked to the pop/psychedelic fusion and then finding out that it was made entirely by kevin was fucking magical to me as a producer

You should add Melody's Echo Chamber EP to your list. A lot of Currents has to do with his breakup with Melody Prochet, who he was with around the time of Lonerism. He helped produce her first album and a lot of his sounds are pretty noticeable in the work. (listen to lonerism first tho)
