    Yeah we kinda take our stores for granted. I can bet overseas it's not the same quality we have. Also remember - The stores cater for 2 types of cultures. The white community LOVES baked goods, and the black community LOVES already prepared hot food (that is affordable). Both black and white does either one, but 95% of time one goes where it's familiar to your culture. Another thing is, we are a MEAT nation. And the stores knows this, sometimes I don't even go to a butcher because I'm satisfied with the quality sold in a local grocery store.

    • @NomadicJayye2021
      @NomadicJayye2021  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Based off my limited observation, i agree with your statement. The grocery stores in the city centers had plenty of hot foods to go, where as the two I went to in Sandton didn't have as much hot foods.

    For safety reasons, South Africans try to stay away from the "downtowns" of all of the country's cities, especially Johannesburg and Pretoria. Inner CBDs are frequently dirty, and the only things keeping us there are jobs and government departments. I'd recommend shopping in the suburbs and surrounding areas such as Sandton.

      Low income, not class 🙈😂. Yes there are even more affordable places to buy food for those with low income and also in rural areas some people grown vegetables and chickens themselves. To be honest food and every day items are generally cheaper in SA even when you compare to most popular African countries.
